I messaged a guy a while ago on a dating app. I said 'Hi. how are you? :)'. He responded 'good u'. I unmatched him. Some people thought I was harsh for unlatching him, but I found his reply low effort and rude.

He should have replied, "thank you for asking after my welfare, I am very well this fine evening and I hope you are too"😂

You had the self respect to trust that something about how that response made you feel wasn’t right. That’s absolutely the right thing to do, no? And you’re right. It was deliberately low effort. Why waste any more energy with someone who hasn’t grown up, who can’t take literally a minute more to communicate respectfully? I wish I’d learned a lot earlier to trust myself when someone showed they were a twit in this type of micro moment. You voted with your feet. He won’t be dwelling on it.
