Wearing jeans in this weather

Why are people still not wearing summer clothes in this weather?
How hot does it need to be before people get their summer wear out?
If they go abroad would they pack winter wear.
Aren't they hot being overdressed in this weather.
Fgs get your summer clothing out. It's crazy.

Pinklimey · 19/07/2022 14:53

Ha ha ha ha ha.... 🍪

TimBoothseyes · 19/07/2022 14:55

I like my cropped jeans. I work with machinery and, it's safer than wearing something loose. So if you don't mind OP I'll keep wearing them because I choose not to end up a mangled mush.
When I'm not working I'll continue to wear my other pairs of cropped jeans and not give a fat rat's crack what you or anybody else thinks.
HTH

Lucky you. Your only problem is what people wear during heatwave.

I live where temps of over 37C are normal every summer. We continue to wear jeans. Even when it's 46C we wear jeans. We're expecting temps over 37C next week and will just carry on as normal.

We have cool nights, unless there's a big thunderstorm coming. When I got up at 6am this morning it was 13C, even though it'll be 32C+ later today.

I also wear long sleeves.

TheGraceFace · 19/07/2022 15:01

For whatever reason they have no confidence in their bodies & therefore don’t want to bring any attention to it. Although by hiding under all that clothing they tend to draw more attention to themselves.

I love my dresses, shorts, & scars, but no matter what the weather I usually lie comfortably under the duvet most nights.

You forgot disabilities.

You forgot disabilities. Sensory issues are very common for example.

Sorry - I thought it didn't post the first time

In the end, this pretty much sums it up as far as I'm concerned. Unless someone is dripping great globs of sweat directly onto you, it's nothing to do with you.

KatherineJaneway · 19/07/2022 15:16

Maybe they spend all day in an air conditioned office?

Derrymare · 19/07/2022 15:18

And what business is it of yours

balalake · 19/07/2022 15:21

I wear jeans, though not black ones. Back of my legs are prone to sunburn.

Notable in Paris over the weekend where they have style that many people chose to have jeans or other trousers.

WoozieFloozie · 19/07/2022 15:23

I'm not wearing jeans today, however, I'd rather wear jeans than those judgey pants of yours 😀

mibbelucieachwell · 19/07/2022 16:04

Judgy jeans? 😆

nca I sympathise with your sensory issues. I have a few much more trivial ones.

People who worry about the size of their legs: don't tight jeans accentuate the shape of your legs?

Affordability- I get it. Especially in the north of Britain where there aren't many hot days.

Phoebesgift · 19/07/2022 16:08

I wear jeans because I work with autistic young children who are prone to rip our tops, bite thin clothing, lift up dresses to look/crawl underneath.

I have visible bite marks and bruises so I prefer to keep covered up with long sleeves and sturdy material.
Tbh I hate seeing people wandering around London dressed as if they're on a hot beach holiday. It always seems to be those who could look better covered up a bit who flaunt their flabby arms, mottled legs and disgusting, dirty toe nails in cheap sandals.

XenoBitch · 19/07/2022 16:16

Yes, as do leggings. It is why I wear leggings and a skirt in all weathers.

RampantIvy · 19/07/2022 16:25

Wow. So many angry replies.

I guess people wear what they feel comfortable in. Personally, in 35 degree heat I find jeans and tight clothing uncomfortable.

What I don't understand is people who complain about feeling too hot when they are wearing clothes that are completely wrong for the weather.

@SlashBeef

Because brown and black people don't comment on white skin being pasty or whatever and you know it.

Argue amongst yourselves but don't bring us into your fights.

But how on earth do you know that? Can you speak for every one?

dottypotter · 19/07/2022 16:48

Summer clothing is so much prettier.🕶

Obviously looking pretty is all that matters if you have no other positive traits

Grissini50 · 19/07/2022 16:51

@KeyboardWarriorsUnite it was. It feels like it happened to someone else now to be honest. But it was pretty traumatic. And more so for my family I think.

Well thank you for that. I'm aware I look ugly and seem weird because I have scarring and I'm autistic so thank you for confirming I'm not pretty because I can't wear summer clothes. That's can't. Not won't. By the way.

What a disgraceful post

How rude. Just saying there are some really pretty summer dresses around.
