Wearing jeans in this weather

Why are people still not wearing summer clothes in this weather?
How hot does it need to be before people get their summer wear out?
If they go abroad would they pack winter wear.
Aren't they hot being overdressed in this weather.
Fgs get your summer clothing out. It's crazy.

There are plenty of reasons why people might wear jeans in this weather:
Going to work
Uncomfortable with their body because of their body image or scarring
Can't afford lighter clothes

It's quite frankly none of your business. Wear what you want and don't judge other people for wearing what they want.

Fluffygreenslippers · 19/07/2022 12:28

Let me guess, you wear those shorts with your arse cheeks hanging out the bottom…

I like being pasty as well.

I don’t think the OP was on the wind up. I think they really thought they had a point but they were so small minded they now realise from the responses that there are many reasons people might be covered up.

I think they will now try and pass it off as a wind up so as not to look stupid!

Nope still here and it was a genuine post. My opinion.

I wear jeans. I look great Smile

MrPoppysParka · 19/07/2022 12:30

A mum at the school gates was so flabbergasted I was wearing jeans when it was about 25 the other week. She went on and on about it in serious disbelief. I’ve worn jeans out of spite since 😃

Sparklingbrook · 19/07/2022 12:32

Most people without a sun tan aren't 'pasty' but who cares if they are? @girlfriend44 is this going to be the first in a series of threads like this?

nca · 19/07/2022 12:32

@girlfriend44 do you actually expect me to be cold and uncomfortable because you think I should be wearing summer clothes?

Spanielsarepainless · 19/07/2022 12:37

DH finally changed from jeans to chinos yesterday and also from a long-sleeved shirt to short sleeves. It made me hot to see him before the swap.

Limecoconutice · 19/07/2022 12:38

Well I am wearing jeans and sturdy boots for safety because I am looking after 500kg animals and hauling pallets of hay and straw about so YABU! Not everyone has an office job!

ladygindiva · 19/07/2022 12:38

Oh god, op is one of those people who comment that people ought to be wearing less on a hot summers day. I've had this loads of times for various reasons. Once because I'd not long had twins and was still carrying baby weight and couldn't fit any of my summery clothes. We couldn't afford for me to buy more esp as I hoped to lose the weight quickly It made me feel like shit. People should mind their own business.

Sparklingbrook · 19/07/2022 12:38

Well Tom Cruise played volleyball in his jeans on the beach in Top Gun 1986, don't watch that OP it might be triggering.

oodledoodle · 19/07/2022 12:50

Because jeans are part of my work uniform. In black.

mibbelucieachwell · 19/07/2022 12:53

I agree with your outrage. It's blimmin' irritating having to listen to inappropriately dressed people complaining about the weather. Especially here in Scotland. It's 26 here in Glasgowshire. Tomorrow it'll be 20. By global standards hardly unbearably hot.

This is how I feel despite my own body issues - milk white skin is the stuff of my dreams! My legs are an unlovely mix of white, blue and purple. When they're really warm they progress to gleaming white. I'm wearing a knee length, loose-fitting dress and if anyone feels disgust at the sight of my lower legs then I'm sorry but that's their problem. It's just the way I'm made. A tan, fake or natural reduces the tartan blue/white/purple look but only slightly.

The more imperfect legs exposed in Britain the more people will see them as normal. Get yer legs oot folks! (Or invest in a loose-flowing Arabic style robe).

Weird thread. Confused Not really your business @girlfriend44 . I wore jeans (and a vest top,) this morning go food shopping. Like fuck was I going in a bikini top and shorts around fucking Morrisons. Hmm Also, I NEVER wear shitting dresses, and no-one will ever make me wear one.

gwenneh · 19/07/2022 12:58

Because I hate shorts.

FeliciaFancybottom · 19/07/2022 12:58

It's not mine or anyone else's job to normalise imperfect legs.

Get yer legs oot folks!

40somethingx · 19/07/2022 13:00

WOW!

I wear thin black jeans all year round! I am a bit over weight and I feel self conscious in anything else!

Just wondering why you are so worried what other people are wearing??

This heatwave has brought out nearly as many busy bodies as the start of covid honestly

Hasn't it just.

I would be complaining about being cold if I didn't have a cardigan on or had my legs out.

Also. It's 17 degrees and cloudy here.

I'll wear my jeans in this weather coz that's what's appropriate for my part of the uk.

Fuck me like. Some people have little to do.

Get your NOSE out! Hmm

I'm not that fond of skin cancer.

Quite. I'm OK with my pasty skin.

Minniem2020 · 19/07/2022 13:10

Not that it's really anything to do with you but I'm still carrying weight from having a baby 3 months ago and can't fit into any of my summer clothes. I also can't afford to buy any, especially when it'll get worn for a couple of weeks then may not fit me again if I lose weight as I'm hoping. Hope that's an acceptable reason for you.

It was very likely the OP.
