Following on from my patio egg experiment. I have set up this thread ready for us all to take part in on 19th July.

Pick your surface and splat your egg between 10am - 6pm.

Let's do our egg science and save humanity.

I will be setting up my egg out front (as it is hotter than my back garden) on foil tomorrow.

The one in the car will prob cook fast as trapped heat

Ok our egg is out in foil in the hottest corner of our garden(on a paving slab). Will take photos.

Mine are on.
I changed my mind and kept with my original plan. One on foil and one in a pan.

I agree but I went with my original plan as i believe other posters have the car idea planned so it's not fair for me to jump in at the last minute.

Lid mostly because birds a million in our garden. but I'm thinking extra magnifying effect bonus?

Can somebody do the egg inside their car?

Might be useful for the 'I'm only going to be five minutes and I've left the window open a crack for the dog/kid/grandma' brigade.

Don't have a car and I'm not setting foot out the front storage heater/garden (block paving on 2m sand on concrete antiflood plinth facing ESE, so in full sun from dawn to 5pm) until it's a more respectable temperature out there some time in mid November if I have anything to do with it

I have no eggs and I’m not crisping myself going out to get some - would anyone be willing to try cracking an egg into a ziplock bag and seeing if it cooks outside? #outsourcing 😁

Annoyingly I now have to be out in my car during prime cooking time! 🙁

Here it is.
On a pheasant feeder in full sun in Warwickshire.

My pans out on my shed roof (South facing, West mids, Wales border) I've pre oiled, think that could have been a mistake. Crack off time between 3.30pm and 4pm. Eggcited!

Pan is out on the patio, starting to soak up some heat. Think I’ll add some oil around 1.30

@Enigma2000 @Moonflower12 I am overwhelmed! A long time since I’ve had a day this exciting.

Thinking about it if I had left a pan out for hours till 2/3pm

the egg would cook quicker as pan is hot

Right, it's 29 degrees and my egg went out at eggzactly 11am. I used 2 squirts of oil on some foil inside an old glass ramekin. Shall see how we progress. Awful shame about your yolk in the Ziploc bag @Enigma2000

Has anyone tried anything other than foil/frying pan/Ziploc?

Please forgive the blue glove. Birds have been dropping them since Covid began.
