To me it was how little people actually care about other’s.

And how lonely and isolating life can be, even as an adult, if you just don’t ”fit in” with the norm.

That all men are filthy cheaters. Just look at Love Island last night. I couldn’t believe my eyes. If Ekin Su isn’t safe, no one is.

Provenceinthesummer · 05/07/2022 14:08

I was shocked when I saw grandfathers that had raped their five year old granddaughters clearly felt no remorse whatsoever, total and utter indifference as the evidence was read out.
Worse still the grandmother that stands by her man in court regardless of the monster she married, and knowingly looked the other way when he created the worst kind of pain and agony that would eventually rip their family apart. How the mother of the child got through those cases with her own parents on the other side of the court is quite inconceivable to me.

It has never left me.

@LionsLove depends what female groups you hang about with.

Drive43 · 05/07/2022 14:08

That some people will assume someone with good intentions actually has bad intentions. I think it's something to do with projection.

That there are some people who genuinely believe nobody is nice unless it benefits them in some way.

Crocsandshocks · 05/07/2022 14:08

Your job will work you to the bone, and never really give you any reward or credit

Phlewf · 05/07/2022 14:08

I assume everyone is lying all the time and pleasantly surprised if I’m wrong. Big things, small things, particularly when talking about feelings or intentions.

FangsForTheMemory · 05/07/2022 14:10

You don’t know someone’s a sociopath until they’ve screwed you over.

I assume everyone is telling the truth all the time and I'm continually astonished if it turns out they're lying.

That cancer can happen to anyone, even if you’re relatively young, fit and health.

Funnyfits · 05/07/2022 14:13

If you are too kind, people will always take advantage of you.

Phlewf · 05/07/2022 14:13

@Drive43 I don’t know if you’re suggesting I’m wrong but I’ll readily admit I’m pretty cynical (although by my own rules you should assume I’m lying about that).

VioletInsolence · 05/07/2022 14:14

You suddenly hit menopause and realise you’ll be single forever because most older men aren’t attractive and you have no sex drive so can’t be bothered anyway!

Imogensmumma · 05/07/2022 14:14

That Disney lied… there is no such thing as happily ever after…. And relationships aren’t the be all and end all you think they will be

Crocsandshocks · 05/07/2022 14:15

That man (sic) is born free but everywhere he is in chains.

notnownorma · 05/07/2022 14:15

"Karma" doesn't exist.

antelopevalley · 05/07/2022 14:16

@Provenceinthesummer it must be very hard to deal with.

devonianBiatch · 05/07/2022 14:17

A man can seem absolutely lovely but still be an opportunistic rapist. And far more men have sexually assaulted women than we even realise. I would say it's around 1 in 3 men. Possibly 1 in 2.

PoshSpice2 · 05/07/2022 14:17

That some people are happy to live off the state and never give back

I agree with this. I worked so hard in some jobs when I was young. Now I do what needs doing and nothing more.

Too many, yes. All, no.

WafflyVersatileOohOoh · 05/07/2022 14:18

Love isn’t all you need.

Shitscared123 · 05/07/2022 14:18

Majt life events reveal how utterly alone you are in this world even if there are people who love and care for you.

notnownorma · 05/07/2022 14:18

Reality TV isn't real. But that's a happy thing.

notnownorma · 05/07/2022 14:17

Speak for yourself darling. Perhaps your eyes just haven’t been opened to the truth yet. Be cautious, you seem overly trusting.

Women are loathed and despised by men.

Let me fix that for you: "Women loathe and despise men."

Well, I wouldn't make that generalisation, but the only place I've encountered people who pre-emptively despise people they don't know purely on the basis of their sex, is on here. The only sex-based haters I've encountered are women.

To be fair, on the rare occasion someone explains why they hold your view, I never agree that men having a generalised hatred of women is the correct explanation for the behaviour that's angering them. So I think this is just something said by women who can't reason their way to more accurate explanations.
