I thought Carrie was a vegetarian.

She has now, it put her right off

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 12:52

Matt Hancock resigned - or went before he was pushed - when he was caught in a fully clothed kissing clinch in the office with his then mistress/the OW. I realise that was caught on camera, but still. Look at all the fuss that was made about that and, wrong as it was, it wasn't a blow job on the Foreign Office sofa witnessed by an MP colleague.

Hintofreality · 30/06/2022 12:53

I think I gagged more reading this thread than Carrie probably did during the act.

Why are all the news reporters/media commentators ignoring this story ? I can't see Ian Hislop/Private Eye publishing it unless they were sure of their sources. Is there a super injunction or something ?

Because most of the media are in the pockets of the Tories. Private Eye are not.

A significant amount of stories that look bad for the Tories are muted by major news outlets (BBC, ITV, Sun, Daily Mail, Telegraph, Times) in exchange for favours for their owners, preferential access on the Tories' terms, or to just to ensure that the Tories stay in power because the owners are Tory party donors and have a vested interest in their party being in power.

TheWeeDonkey · 30/06/2022 13:01

Thanks OP I'm reading this during my lunch break 🤮🤮🤮🤮

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 13:05

I'm not a fan of Carrie but before anyone thinks this thread isn't 'in the spirit' about a woman, it's really not about her. It's about Boris Johnson, the then Foreign Office Minister, a Secretary of State, behaving like this in the Foreign Office. Putting an MP colleague in an unenviable position where he could walk in on and witness that too. And then being made Leader of the Conservative Party and now being our PM, representing us on the world stage. 211 of our MPs recently voting that they still have confidence in him. Like Trump in the US, Johnson is out of control and an embarrassment to the UK. What a role model for other men and boys and for other politicians. Like Partygate, if the PM does it, it must be ok.

Violetparis · 30/06/2022 12:33

Opposition MPs are quiet about it too, it's odd.

Perhaps they are holding fire until BloJo is back in the country?

Time for a musical interlude -

Let's play some Barbra Streisand effect

Yes absolutely. Particularly if they were caught, and particularly if they were married and had access to classified documents that could render them blackmailable.

By the Russians, maybe?

whatnowfedup · 30/06/2022 13:14

I used to work in a company where my boss was caught fucking someone else's fiance in the toilet during Saturday overtime. Nothing was done, she was built in with the bricks.

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 13:17

Phos · 30/06/2022 12:38

Maybe it was because it was started by a PBP? I don't know how these things work.

Or concerns/threats of legal action, but that would be groundless. It has been in the public domain since March.

cushioncovers · 30/06/2022 13:17

I mean if it's in the main reception area in front of others I'm inclined to say yes . If it was in the toilets and only one person saw them and it's now become office gossip then probably not.

ilovesooty · 30/06/2022 13:18

Nothing he does apparently justifies removing him from office.

"But Corbyn..." " But Starmer"

Just waiting for the whataboutery
🙄

rocketfromthecrypt · 30/06/2022 13:22

He is laughing at every single one of us. Nothing he can do will get him removed from office. He could pretty much shoot someone dead during PMQs and somehow the Tories would make it Starmer's fault.

But that person shouldn't have to witness that at work.

It doesn't make for a professional environment either, unless you work in the sex industry. We're talking about government offices here...

dangerrabbit · 30/06/2022 13:25

It's BJ, he can do whatever he likes all the time.

JaninaDuszejko · 30/06/2022 13:26

God, imagine walking in on that at work 😵

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 12:24

YANBU except she was his mistress/OW at the time, not his girlfriend. Instead the Conservatives unfortunately made him Party Leader and he's now our PM.

They were caught by another MP on the Foreign Office sofa, according to Private Eye. The real/other reason the story was removed from The Times about Boris Johnson wanting his then mistress Carrie Symonds to be given a £100,000 job.

BloJo is Top Seedy:

I read that as "a £1,000 blow job".

Completely agree, vile little man.

ilovesooty · 30/06/2022 13:28

Whatever Theresa May's shortcomings were, I can't imagine her indulging in oral sex in the office.

WaitroseWoman · 30/06/2022 13:28

PeekAtYou · 30/06/2022 12:41

Yes they should be sacked and the fact that the BJ detail was deleted on request makes me wonder why. Quid pro quo is how the government operates so someone is benefitting by scrubbing this.

Honours List? Friendships? Preferential access? It's how it usually works.

I thought this was Monica Lewinsky and Clinton again. Huh.
