I was just wondering why we're not allowed to post about this case-the deletion message mentioned it was ongoing so wouldnt be fair to the family

Charlie gards case was on going and there was numerous threads about it

Anyway if this stands maybe we can discuss

(And needless to say if the appeal is lodged then hospital will probably hold off in any case.)

XenoBitch · 15/07/2022 15:27

Just saw the video of the family outside the court.
"We disagree with idea of dignity in death"

That poor boy.

The facebook group is bonkers. So many comments of this ilk:

Come on Arch show these Doctors what your made off 💪🏻💜 just because a mindless decision was made it doesn’t mean your not going to wake up and walk out of that hospital Now is the time to show mummy and daddy what a fighter you truly are. You have a whole army behind you praying for you 🙏🏼🙏🏼 come on little man

Despite the amount of highly specialised experts who have taken their time to given independent opinions on archie's prognosis and best interests, it is still a "mindless decision"

The utterly cruelty of mindless twats telling a traumatised family their child will “walk out of there”. Even if they kept ventilating Archie, he will never ever walk or even move his legs.

PowerhouseOfTheCell · 15/07/2022 15:52

Although I disagree with basically everything Hollie has done to this point (shame on the CLC btw, fucking charlatans) I’ll always have incredible sympathy for her, having not gone home in over 3 months and slept on a chair bed every night, her mental health must be absolutely shot and just being able to feel and hold Archie may be the only thing getting her through each day.

I genuinely hope she has a good support network around her when he passes

They are the lowest of the low ,unfortunately people that thick are unaware just how unintelligent they are .

Ella? She came straight out of court and straightaway put a laugh emoji on the comment of someone on the Dignity page who happened to spell something wrong. Her priorities are seriously warped.

Jott · 15/07/2022 16:26

She was on the Dignity For All pages a few days ago calling people cunts, inviting people to try and doxx members, and just generally trolling. She's an odd one and I can't really say what I think of her without getting the thread deleted.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 15/07/2022 17:15

Ella is definitely an odd one.

Teder · 15/07/2022 17:15

I heard that the brother’s girlfriend had only known Archie for 2 months prior to the injury. The way she’s become their spokesperson is a worry as she hasn’t know the family for long.
Of course Archie’s needs should be voiced via people who know and love him. She only knew him for a very short period of time, did she know and does she love him?

Puzzledandpissedoff · 15/07/2022 17:22

The family can't try and just get a different constitution of the same court as a 'do-over' in the hopes of getting a justice who is more sympathetic to them. The proper route is to appeal on the basis that this one got the law wrong

Yes, I realise they'd need another court to hear the case rather than going back to the same one; however them appealiing yet again is precisely what I was afraid of - especially, as you say, because the hospital then almost certainly couldn't act in the meantime

I realise too that it's been said they have no grounds to appeal now, but it's becoming ever clearer that "no" simply isn't a word they're prepared to accept

rainbowmilk · 15/07/2022 17:29

@Puzzledandpissedoff Agree 100%. They’ll just keep going and sadly it’ll be a pointless distraction from what they need to be focussing on.

He has been having intermittent blood transfusions too. What an absolute waste of an already scarce resource.

Yes, there’s something about giving blood to a dead body that just sent me over the edge. I had to stop reading there.

Theredtoyphone · 15/07/2022 18:01

The judgment was a terribly hard read. Unfortunately I believe the “army” have no interest in fact or evidence and I do worry about the next few weeks and hope that history doesn’t repeat itself.

I don’t think I can even articulate anything in response to “We don’t believe in dignity in death” So sad.

EmeraldShamrock1 · 15/07/2022 18:31

It's way passed any emotional reaction expected from a parent.

Are they brainwashed, surely somewhere inside you would have to face reality.

I saw a photo of the poor child in a sitting position with his legs visible, he is emancipated.

Fritilleries · 15/07/2022 19:09

Where's the pdf file gone to? The link wasn't working for me.

HuffleWoof · 15/07/2022 19:16

@Fritilleries try this one

Clarabe1 · 15/07/2022 19:30

Mums gone mad hasn’t she? I can’t say I blame her. I doubt very much she has even begun to process the trauma of finding her son hanging. The court cases, the appeals, the anger at the doctors is all about her deflecting her feelings and putting off the inevitable moment when she will have to face up to what has happened. Horrendously sad story. Poor Archie.

Yea they are brainwashed. Chiefly by Christian concern, there’s a misnomer if I ever heard one. Also there is Archie’s army. It’s like a cult.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 15/07/2022 19:38

Knew soon as saw who the Judge was this decision be seen in the way it is especially as he has overseen other cases before...

I dont get the post about dignified death. Are they saying he should just go into cardiac arrest and pass away? But not be taken off the ventilatior as that's taking it away from his time being decided by god/himself

SunflowerGardens · 15/07/2022 19:46

I really feel she is the driving force behind the whole court case and the fundraising etc. people are pointing fingers at Hollie but she's extremely vulnerable and she should be properly supported by her family. Tbh it looks more like she's being exploited by some of them.

If I were Archie's parents I think I would arrange for life support to be ended at a time of my choosing over the weekend, switch off my phone and spend some time with him. It's the only way they can take back control of the situation - who wants to fight forever when they know they won't win. Do they even want to go on fighting or do they feel like they have to because they're being pushed to?

Clarabe1 · 15/07/2022 19:51

The bit that stuck in my throat was the supposed conversation between Archie and his brother about life support. Not only did Archie say he would stay to look after Mum ( isn’t it supposed to be the other way around?) but what 12 year old would discuss this? I think Hollie has lost the plot and she is being manipulated by those around her. I really worry for her.

Fritilleries · 15/07/2022 19:57

An extremely compassionate judgement. The mother is in hell. I really feel for her.

LetsGoFlyAKiteee · 15/07/2022 19:58

It's sad the comments aimed at the judge. How he is scum and a murderer..no.
