To apply athletes foot cream to labia?

Sorry for terrible overshare but what else is the internet for.

I am absolutely driven mad by thrush. I have no yoghurt in the house bar Frubes (although I suppose easy internal application? But I would worry about the sugar). I have no money until payday, 8 squirmy scratchy fanny abrading days away.

What I do have is two kinds of athletes foot cream? Surely one fungicide is much like another?

OP, you poor love. If you want to DM me your address, I’ll get some off Amazon sent to you. I had this in late pregnancy a couple of years ago and nearly lost my mind.

Maybe if you have athlete's fanny.

😂😂

I always use canesten 1% with a foot on instead of 2% because it's cheaper 😲

It's always worked fine

I've used it too. The actual thrush stuff has to be bought over the counter and is about twice the price. I can't be bothered and think it's a bit of a con. But I use Canesten that I can buy off the supermarket shelf with the same active ingredient. It hasn't done me any harm.

I can't speak for other athletes foot creams.

If I was really desperate and it went on for days, I would buy the proper kit with the oral capsule too, but I've not needed that for about 17 years!

😂😂😂

CrankyFrankie · 17/06/2022 22:06

Yes it’s fine!

Vintique · 17/06/2022 22:06

Garlic?

roses2 · 17/06/2022 22:07

Prescribed Nappy rash cream also has the same active ingredient if you have that! DS had nappy rash and I had thrush at the same time. The doctor prescribed us both the exact same product!

AgathaBrazen · 17/06/2022 22:07

Yes it's fine.

CrankyFrankie · 17/06/2022 22:07

I used to get it so bad I’d slap anything on there. I’d say you’re positively discerning eschewing the Frube!

jd88123 · 17/06/2022 22:08

Yep looks the same ingredients to me...as long as you've not used the tube straight on to a foot fungus it should be OK. It would be more worrying if the percentages were the other way round but since the foot one is lesser than the other I think it's worth a try. You can also take an anti histamine if you have any for the itching.

Justwingingit2005 · 17/06/2022 22:09

I used it Once before I got get the thrush version. I've also used sudocrem which makes a right mess.

Cool flannel tonight and get to the pharmacy for Fluconazole tomorrow!

I'm really tired and don't have my glasses so I genuinely thought you were suggesting Coco Chanel 😂

Bentley123 · 17/06/2022 22:09

Me too! Thought the ingredients was exactly the same

giftswap2021 · 17/06/2022 22:10

Have you got any tea tree oil? A tampon with some tea tree oil drops on, and then inserted can bring instant relief, it's the only thing that worked for me

giftswap2021 · 17/06/2022 22:11

Or can you get to the chemist, would there be anything available on the minor ailments scheme?

Lottieskeeper · 17/06/2022 22:11

Another vote for use it!

I've used it so many times and its been fine, its loads cheaper than the thrush one and it's the same stuff just not as strong.
My husband also uses it for 'jock itch' and it sorts that out too.

Do people get thrush on their feet?

Not sure, but you can get athletes foot in your groin area

WDWY · 17/06/2022 22:13

I feel like if men had to put up with this then a cure would have already been invented (and they'd get the noble prize for it). Natural yoghurt has never worked for me, but I swear by cold showers and oral fluconazole (GP told me to take them every two days for a week to eradicate it!).

Nomad916 · 17/06/2022 22:13

It's fine, just less concentrated

TooHotTooGreedy · 17/06/2022 22:14

Memaww · 17/06/2022 21:40

Canesten 1% (for feet) is exactly the same as canesten (2%) for vaginas.

Exactly. Just a lower 'dose'

Yep.
Generic clotrimozole from the pharmacy, or home bargains, is exactly the same too & for the tablets a generic fluconazole is cheaper than the canesten tablets.

the Dr once prescribed me Daktarin for thrush, I was quite alarmed until the pharmacist put me straight.

BigRon40 · 17/06/2022 22:14

i know this sounds savage but salt will cut the itching. Dilute as little as you can stand and it does sting but it works and is very cheap. Have a bath ready to sit in when you need to wash it off. It has felled thrush in its tracks for me. Good luck

Ivyy · 17/06/2022 22:14

Pretty sure it's just a weaker version at 1% for the canesten they label as being for athletes foot, instead of the stronger 2% version they label as being for thrush. It was years ago but I swear a pharmacist told me that once when they'd run out of the 2% cream. I'd use it op!

Spread from feet? Maybe keep feet away from groin.

Anyway thanks OP for this educational thread. I hope your thrush is helped by your foot cream. It sounds like it's the same sort of thing as when they labelled all the neurofen up for different ailments but it was all the same.

? They do, it’s just called jock itch. But same principle as it’s thrush on penis, balls and suchlike.

shivermetimbers77 · 17/06/2022 22:16

It will work in the short term OP but you may need a flucanozole tablet or pessary to sort it.
