I quite like Chris Packham

Is it just me or is there something about Chris Packham. I've never really taken much notice of him before, but in another life I think I would!

Scary guy, he would definitely choose to kill and eat you over his dog if you got lost in the wild with him and starvation became an issue!!

A dog would be far more useful in a survival situation than another human wanting to compete for what could be found. And they don't complain so much as humans. The single advantage of having another person around would be not having to run quite so fast to escape an angry bear...

I don't care, I switch him off. I find him creepy because I do.

Calling someone your step-child when you haven't been married to the parent is misleading.

It smacks of nepotism.

If he had been married to her mother, would that be nepotism?

You find him creepy because he has Asperger's, admit it.

@ofwarren, my understanding of the dictionary term is absolutely fine.
His use of it is misleading as he is not technically her step-father.

Woody Allen was not married to Mia Farrow but got slated for marrying his ex-partner's daughter.

Did I miss the bit where CP married his partner’s daughter?
or are you determined to imply something untoward? How grubby of you 🤮

What has Woody Allen got to do with Chris Packham?

That's exactly what she's been implying from the start, saying he's creepy.

mrwalkensir · 17/06/2022 21:41

His show with Megan was wonderful - proper hilarious (step)father/daughter relationship - her understanding his quirks and gently teasing him. They showed the scrapbooks/workbooks that he used to get her to put together when primary school age and on trips together - lots of zoological detail. Also footage of her as a small girl on proper birdwatching trips etc. Taking photos. He tends to call her by her nickname "Beast". DH and DD have a very similar relationship.

Bunchymcbunchface · 17/06/2022 21:45

I can’t stand him. Whenever he’s doing a segment with a big bird of prey or a massive owl, I always hope it’s going to violently attack him.

Riverlee · 17/06/2022 22:43

Diddn’t someone vandalise Chris Packham’s neighbour gate, or have I remembered that wrongly?

Riverlee · 17/06/2022 22:44

(because they got the wrong house)

What?

Anyway what you are implying is simply not true. Some man said much the same thing to him on Twitter once about how lucky he was to be working with her because she was fit etc. CP said you are disgusting that's my stepdaughter or words to that effect.

ehb102 · 17/06/2022 23:43

Just seen a video of Packham perving at Michaela Stratton climbing up a ladder on springwatch 2022. Definite creep. Remind a woman doing her job that to men she's there to whack off to, lovely.

Nolongerteaching · 18/06/2022 17:17

@ehb102

i met him recently. Just never had that vibe from him at all. The opposite actually.

Your comment doesn’t resonate with the actions of the man I see on tv or who I recently met.

I met Michaela Strachan yesterday at Dogfest, absolutely lovely woman and so friendly and engaged.

MrJi · 19/06/2022 11:05

KindergartenKop · 16/06/2022 21:59

Yeah but he'd just talk about starlings afterwards though

I think that is a plus.

MrJi · 19/06/2022 11:08

A friend of mine worked with him on a programme many years ago, (when he had his blonde spiked hair). She came back rather in love with him, said he was such an interesting and decent person.

SilverPeacock · 19/06/2022 11:15

I was just thinking this the other day. He has aged well.

AchatAVendre · 19/06/2022 11:16

Not keen on him at all, or Countyfrill in general, which is typical BBC whitewashed frilly woke stuff presented in the typical BBC manner of talking to people as though they are 12 year old schoolchildren. Packham in particular is intolerant of other peoples' viewpoints or need to earn a living. Countryfrill quite often has glaring errors, which admittedly are quite amusing. I also preferred Miriam O'Reilly as a presenter to Packham.

Disclaimer - I'm from a farming background.

I have say his comments on cancer treatment left me cold.

I think I'd be ok with that, tbh...

Saucery · 19/06/2022 12:47

As a species I think we are more than capable of doing both and he’s wrong to make it an Either/Or proposition.
Agreeing with some things someone says and not with other things is fine, though.

That's a bit of a stretch, I watched that. I think he said he was in a position that loads of blokes would like to be in, referencing the many men who fancied Michaela back in the day.

purpleplatypus2022 · 19/06/2022 15:07

To all those hating on Packham for his demeanour/voice etc. he has publicly declared that he has Aspergers, and this will affect his body language, tone of voice etc.

So you looked for some dirt dating back to 2014? You must be desperate.

maeveiscurious · 22/06/2022 18:58

@Mercurial123 what a disingenuous comment, I didn't have to look it up, as that comment left me cold at the time. As cancer has touched our family it is something that upset me at the time.

As with all things we are allowed to form our own opinions.
