I know, I know. Born into a life of privelage blah, blah, blah.. But it isn't a life they ask for.

Personally I think the children in the royal family should be kept out of the spotlight until they're adults and can decide what they want to do. They should just be kids until then. Maybe with the odd photo released with granny or whatever.
I can see history repeating itself with the 'rebel prince' that his uncle went through........I cant help but wonder what the hell his parents are thinking allowing this. 😳 It didnt work out well for Harry who was used to deflect attention away from the shit his brother was getting up to for years 😬

It wasn't the media putting them front and centre on the balcony. The RF use them to make them look less like spongers.

What?? What his brother was getting up to for years?? It was Harry who wore the Hitler outfit, as a grown adult. It was Harry who used racial slurs. It was Harry who was photographed naked and goofy with his hands over his privates looking like an idiot in Las Vegas. I mean, go look it up, he looks like a classless Dum Dum. Markle married the only proven racist and lowlife in his immediate family—Harry.

What narrative?

The only question that came to mind was how a child of Harry and Meghan would be viewed if revealed in the sme way. 💯 it would be negative.

I thought the exact same thing, @SchoolThing.

Probably why they kept them out of sight, and I don’t blame them at all.

IDreamOfTheMoors · 06/06/2022 03:51

@AnAfternoonWalk

You just can’t help yourself, can you. Have you been keeping score? A diary?
Wasn’t a question.

I find it so sad. The anti-MM narrative has been pedalled largely by the DM. So hateful.

What does this even mean?

The truth is that it is Harry who did all kinds of unsavory things through the years, not William. And I gave proven examples. Harry wore Hitler costume p, he used racial slurs, and he has naked photographs that make him look like the doofus he is.

Facts.

mamaneedsanap33 · 06/06/2022 04:17

I've seen it been said loads that thank goodness it wasn't Archie or rather than the 'cheeky little cutie' narrative it would have probably been 'rude little brat not being raised properly by his parents'.

AnAfternoonWalk · 06/06/2022 04:20

Harry is the racist. He wore Hitler costume and he used racial ethnic slurs, all of this is documented and proven. Truth matters.

It is nothing to do with race you appalling hypocrites and racists, Meghan is a liar who has repeated bad press and has been openly negative/pushed false narratives on oprah. You are aware that your comments are infact racist???

FearlessFreddie · 06/06/2022 04:43

I often think of Girard’s scapegoat mechanism wrt the RF. It’s funny how often there is one “good” child and one “bad” one.

If it were up to me, I’d have the children raised in complete privacy, and allow them to choose freely as adults whether to be involved. The thing is, whenever someone tries to take a step in that direction, they get slaughtered- remember the reaction when Meghan wanted to give birth without the press on the doorstep?

She gives out mixed messages. Wants privacy after the birth no standing on the steps. Which was respected.

Then moaned because nobody was interested. And nobody arranged a photo opportunity.

I have to admit that I didn't really enjoy seeing the royal kids out this weekend. My own DC are the same ages as George and Charlotte (my youngest actually shares the same birthday!). I saw my kids spending half term playing with their mates out in the street while those poor royal kids were sweltering out in the sunshine on parade in front of the world. It's a shame they don't get to just b3 normal kids.

But then, they will grow up to never have to worry about making ends meet. So I suppose their upbringing can't be that bad. 🤷‍♀️

“Poor Royal kids”? Those dc are stinking rich. Like most dc, they are brought to family events. Do your dc never go to family/family friends’ parties, weddings, Christenings etc? They’ll play most days of the year, but are brought to family events.

@LookingForSalt So long as they are white Archie looks the spits of his dad despite being 1/4 black. Lilibet also has white skin. To be honest, I’m not overly invested in the Royal family. Harry isn’t the first Royal to leave.

MsTSwift · 06/06/2022 05:15

It’s one of the many reasons I think the whole thing should be ended. They don’t choose this life - it’s unfair. Look at the queens father totally wrong for role of king - a shy family orientated man with a stutter. He must have bloody hated it. Think being born into a role like this is actually cruel.

FearlessFreddie · 06/06/2022 05:29

Dinoteeth · 06/06/2022 05:03

She got masses of criticism for suggesting it- endless articles in the press about how we pay for them so we get to decide. I found it barbaric.

But my point here is not to be pro-Meghan or anti her- I don’t really have a view on her as an individual, Rather, I think the public has complex and contradictory feelings about the monarchy which we simplify by embracing a narrative (encouraged by the press) that there’s always one bad apple who can be the focus of all our negative emotions, allowing us to enjoy positive feelings about the rest of them in a more straightforward way.

Havehope21 · 06/06/2022 06:55

@LicoricePizza I agree - plus you never really see George with Kate, he is always with William.

@LicoricePizza I think Prince William was told by a class mate rather than his parents that he'd be king one day.

Although I don't see how they can keep it from the kids for any length of time. Great Granny it's queen after all.

The epitome of good parenting, met someone else tell them.

Antarcticant · 06/06/2022 07:02

Dinoteeth · 06/06/2022 00:18

A very young and bored Prince Charles at his mums Coronation. His Granny Queen Mother on one side and Auntie Princess Margaret on the other.

Yes - my point was that Charles, like Louis, bored by the festivities, didn't grow up to be a 'rebel prince'. He's 4 in that picture, the same.as Louis - they were both just doing what 4 year olds do.

Blossomtoes · 06/06/2022 07:02

Havehope21 · 06/06/2022 06:55

We hardly see him at all. He very rarely makes a public appearance. The photographs provided to the media are usually taken by Kate.

jubileetrain · 06/06/2022 07:04

@PinkScrunchie

I would never have allowed my 4 year old to cover mouth and would have moved their hand away quickly and told them off whether there were cameras or not.

Which is exactly what happened.

Thehop · 06/06/2022 07:11

NoSquirrels · 05/06/2022 23:51

I feel more sorry for the YouTuber kids and the Instagram kids, tbh.

The RF at least have the experience of decades of media exposure and the money to mitigate some stuff.

Agree 100%

no different to young children behaving/being expected to behave at any family event.

DaisyQuakeJohnson · 06/06/2022 07:13

I'm not a monarchist but I'm tired of this daily onslaught of personal comments. In the past hardly anyone was so consistently vicious unless they were being paid by the press. Criticisms of the institution yy but trying to pull apart a 4yrold- no.
You also don't see this targeting of other RFs and their DCs.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 06/06/2022 07:14

I would never have allowed my 4 year old to cover mouth and would have moved their hand away quickly and told them off whether there were cameras or not

Which is exactly what the DoC did.

dottiedodah · 06/06/2022 07:18

They are different from normal kids though.they have a life already mapped out for them from birth. Prince Harry struggled with it. They still have a life made easier by huge wealth. Unless things change and we have no royalty then this is what happens. Even normal dc have to stay quiet at weddings formal occasions in real life
