Booing Boris. AIBU to say he deserved it?

I'm not a boo-er, it doesn't come naturally to me. Yet thinking of the photo of the queen, alone, at her husband's funeral contrasted with his snivelling 'apology' for tolerating depraved behaviour in his workplace together with his other contemptuous behaviour over the course of parliament, I'd have found it hard to resist. His presence just seems like adding more insult to injury.

I think he deserved it. But even if I didn't I would still be grateful we live in a country where boo'ing didn't lead to arrest or even worse.

'Unusual for a crowd who I would imagine is predominantly going to be the sort of people who would vote Tory to boo Johnson.'

I disagree. The people that go to these things are either fans or critics/activists. Hence the cheers and boos.

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

WaitroseWoman · 04/06/2022 12:43

Boo!

Surprised the Home Secretary hasn't made that illegal - as it's a noisy protest.

'Any time you want to debate why it was appropriate for a 56year old man to have a birthday party whilst the same man was denying that opportunity to millions of children, do let me know. I've been waiting months.'

And yet I've answered umpteen times. It wasn't a party it was a few mins in an office with people saying happy birthday. I'm so sorry if you think this is a party Confused

<before you ask yes if you burgled my house you're still a burglar!!>

@JaniieJones I think it is a great shame that you did not point out to us all that you had found a line in the covid laws that said that they did not apply for the first 20 minutes. If only you had shared that knowledge with Boris and urged him to include it in one of the Downing Street briefings, then he would not be in this mess.

It certainly is.

The original post linking to that racist Twitter account has been now withdrawn at the poster's request.

Blossomtoes · 04/06/2022 13:08

Funny that. It’s exactly what I’ve come to expect.

'So many people respond to the likes JJ and clav because they way they write is designed to get a response.'

'We train to train ourselves better not to bite.'

It's a shame you think this @itsgettingweird , you're one of the very few on these threads able to debate reasonably and you bring up interesting points however this is just lowering yourself to the level of others. Nothing I say is 'designed to get a response'. I obviously stand by everything I say, folk don't need to 'train themselves not to bite' rather to learn how to debate without insults and personal attacks.

You do write things deliberately to get a response.

It's a shame you can't admit that.

For a start you've changed your stance quite considerably.

You said if it's proven he'd attended the Abba party you'd call for his resignation.

It's proven he's attended. You're defending him harder.

Why?

itsgettingweird · 04/06/2022 13:18

It was a lefty. He received a FPN for this. He attended for 20 minutes. It's in the Sue Gray report.

Why do you think you know better, can define the law better than the met (though I'll ad it their handling if most things lately is questionable) and why do you think you know how long he attended more than the person who investigated?

Yet the point still stands Kay Burley said clearly 'cheers for the PM!' on Sky news. Inconvenient but true. Google it.

Perhaps others could report the unrelated offensive racist tweets they posted?

Oh for god's sake. Everyone on the thread knows why I posted that tweet.

newnamethanks · 04/06/2022 13:38

I'm thinking of that picture of a lone wolf howling at the moon? Why do they do that? Howling for a response from something similar presumably. On and on they go, time after time. Must be lonely.

The original link to the racist twitter account was posted by @JaniieJones , this was then later withdrawn after it had been pointed out that the source from from an abhorrent account.

Maybe there is hope for them yet that they can learn.
Maybe

DuncinToffee · 04/06/2022 13:40

Maybe you could just have said sorry for retweeting that person rather than trying to justify it.

And please show us a post that denied there were cheers.

SueSaid · 04/06/2022 13:44

'The original link to the racist twitter account'

Sighs. Yes and I apologised for not reading all their past posts but pointed out it was the Sky clip I was drawing attention to not the tweeter per se. Then in their excitement others posted racist content, seems a bit unnecessary and offenisve tbh.

Anywayy. Cheers and boos!

SueSaid · 04/06/2022 13:45

Yes, yes i can learn. I stand corrected on this one instance.

But yet the boos don't concern you?

It's the most telling thing that happened this weekend.

Somehow it became bigger news than H and M attending and bigger news than their arrival at St Paul's such was the shock of the public response (although opinion polls were already making it clear).

There were cheers - expected.

There were boos - a telling story.

Janiie I know you are trying to wind me up into saying something bad to you. it is not going to happen.

DuncinToffee · 04/06/2022 13:53

If that was the case, they wouldn't be posting on here Grin

SueSaid · 04/06/2022 13:57

'If that was the case, they wouldn't be posting on here'

The title is he 'deserved boos'. I'm merely pointing out he also got cheers, so by the same rational he deserved them too.

You know we live in a democracy so people are allowed different views and to express them how they like . I mean I wouldn't boo at an event for the Queen but whatever fills your boots.

DuncinToffee · 04/06/2022 13:58

I ask again, show us a post that denied there were cheers
