I've watched every series, I really enjoy it. It's a great hour each evening.

I know people generally look down on programmes like this but don't actually watch them. I can't be the only one?

Yes, the poor exploited contestants are crying all the way to the bank. It's just a silly TV show! I'm willing to bet those that are vehemently against it have never watched it, have picked up their talking points from Piers Morgan and the like, and are just being blowhards.

I have never watched it admittedly but I watched Big Brother as a teen and I imagine it's the same thing, only with more attractive people.

I don't watch much TV at all to be honest. The only thing I've watched recently is the Walking Dead. I listen to music and read forums on my phone mostly.

Because I said that there were no overweight contestants on Love Island. You said there were. So I want to see proof. Having googled those people I can see that neither of them look overweight, they just have "curvier" bodies.

I've never really watched it but I know people who do and I wouldn't dream of criticising them for it. Just like they don't criticise me for my MAFS obsession!

Neither of those women are fat. Not even close to it. Maybe not a size zero but they are not fat.

Nor are they plain, ugly or anything other than the very bog standard look of woman they want on this show.

Because I think the concept of reality TV is wrong. To be honest I'm criticizing the actual show more than the people who watch it. I'm perfectly entitled to criticise something I think is harmful. No one has to listen to me or care about my opinion of course!

None of you will know if they are overweight or not unless you have access to their BMI

Just because someone 'doesn't look fat' doesn't mean they aren't classed as overweight!

That's true. However they still have the "acceptable" type of bodies for TV. They aren't thin women, but they have flat stomachs, boobs and curvier hips and thighs, much like the Kardashians. They don't have flabby bellies, stretch marks and bingo wings.

As much as it would be nice to see normal people, putting ordinary folk on there is just opening them up to be criticised. The show itself appears to have strict rules (they never really talk about others appearance besides maybe 'he's a bit short for me').

I think they deliberately choose fairly attractive, insta types who already have a bit of a platform. And I fully sympathise with teenage girls feeling insecure because was that age not long ago, but as an adult, I think one needs to just switch off if it triggers self esteem issues.

The standard for slim/curvy existed before LI and it will after. There's no point torturing yourself by watching it as an adult - it's not like all your friends are and you're excluded if you don't. I could probably ramble on but I'll stop myself!

Maybe check them out towards the end of the show, they are definitely bigger then! All that free food and drink and nothing much to do all day
