Part 3 AIBU to wonder why so many people assume Johnny Depp is the good guy and Amber Heard is the villain

Following on from parts 1 and 2
Trial has gone 'dark' this week as the Judge is at a conference so it's going to be quiet on that front and I expect this thread will run slower than the previous two, however, there is still plenty of material and evidence from the last three weeks that we can 'cross examine'.

Any and all opinions welcome.

@ENoeuf that was an insult. Some people are jerks(not you).

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 21:06

I did watch the Oscar Pistorius trial which was fascinating but I think judge not jury.

Aspiringmatriarch · 17/05/2022 21:08

You and Amber have a lot in common. Very selective memories. Is it your husband's fault you don't remember what Johnny said?

How interesting to see a comment like this from the poster all over every thread about this case defending poor innocent Johnny.

JulyDreams · 17/05/2022 21:11

Sorry to jump on. I am just watching the live trial. Amber is making some
pretty horrific allegations against JD. Is JD saying NONE of this happened ....? Why on earth would you make up the fact he grabbed her by the just and punched her repeatedly in the face?!

JulyDreams · 17/05/2022 21:12

Sorry I meant grabbed her by the hair.

Where have I ever said poor innnocent Johnny?

Midlifemusings · 17/05/2022 21:23

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 21:05

Thank you - so both sides have spoken to him and now the jury sees it?

He did not wish to appear in person to testify as a witness in the case so they are using a pre recorded deposition as his testimony.

I was characterising your posts as a whole, but quoting you. I've seen you claiming that he can't move on from her psychological abuse, despite the fact you must have seen the texts and videos that show him being verbally abusive towards her.

Direct quotes from you:

"Only one of the two people has taken ownership of their actions....and that would be Johnny. He doesn't deny his addiction nor trashing rooms."

(That's big of him... guess being a raging addict, trashing entire houses and writing in blood accusing your wife of being easy isn't abuse then? Because if he was taking ownership he would acknowledge that and see how absolutely terrifying it would have been for her)

You have literally said "Johnny is a victim" and that if you look at the evidence it's "almost impossible to see Amber as a victim" so yes - poor innocent Johnny. Still traumatised the the psychological abuse.

Amber has admitted in a number of recordings to hitting him and throwing pots and pans at him and punching him. How do you define that as psychological abuse? And I never said he couldn't move on as far as I recall.

And no - having an addiction isn't the same as being an abuser. And breaking a cabinet after bad news isn't the same as being an abuser. If either of those where true we would have a lot of abusers. Addiction is a health issue and mental health doesn't equal abusive.

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 21:48

So this is a friend - rocky / racquel for Amber. Why is the JD team starting?

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 21:50

Oh it's not good! She can't remember which side she is on 😲

mrselizabethdarcy · 17/05/2022 21:52

This friend has an appalling memory doesn't she 🤔

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 21:53

This is the Depp team asking right? And then Amber's tomorrow.

She just slipped up and admitted that she tipped off TMZ that she was filing a restraining order, which is why there were so many paparazzi outside the court that day.

For context: this was a few days after she’d received a letter from Depp denying her a larger divorce settlement. He had left for the European leg of his band tour that morning and would be away for nearly two months. That night she changed the locks on the penthouse (that he’d refused to hand over to her).

Again, are these the actions of someone out for money or someone scared for their lives?

There were no accusations of violence before he denied her a larger divorce settlement. And remember- he left her.

Have you not seen all the evidence?

There is evidence he says she could have the apartment. He still had keys to it. It's feasible that she would want to change the locks as she also said the security guards would let him in even when high and she'd asked them not too.
I think that shows he was scared, not the opposite.

I didn't hear her saying she tipped off the press. I heard her say she didn't and was then shocked when they were there. She has managed to keep it under wraps before.

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 21:58

'We don't speak, we are not enemies'

I have a couple of people like this. I would say hi if we met by chance but I wouldn't text to meet. But we weren't that close recently. I'd like to know more!

Aspiringmatriarch · 17/05/2022 21:59

How do you define that as psychological abuse? And I never said he couldn't move on as far as I recall.

You said:
"His comment about his finger being injured is almost secondary to how exhasuted he is from the psychological warfare. If she had just hit him a few times, I don't think he would have been so adament that the world needed to see who she was. It was the psychological abuse he can't seem to move past."

I think they said this is prerecorded deposition for IO and Rachel. I don't know why either of them can't attend the trial.

On both, Depps team ask questions first and then Amber's team 2nd. Then Depps team ask questions again. Not sure why though. Hopefully someone can explain. There must be a reason for this.

Aspiringmatriarch · 17/05/2022 22:01

Well, that's seriously downplaying the aggression he showed in that video. And I think it's pretty obvious that his behaviour changed a lot when he was drunk or taking drugs. He became abusive.

AdamRyan · 17/05/2022 17:30

The questioning this afternoon has been awful.
Johnny got her the role in aquaman
Her apologising shows she was the abuser
Claiming she is verbally abusive and denying Jahnny was verbally abusive after playing a tape of them literally saying the same things to each other (ifound that quite gaslighty)

Mind you I very much enjoyed Velasquez saying Amber had never mentioned the public grabbing before this trial, and then Amber directing her to the page where it was mentioned in the UK statements :D

Johnny was jealous and didn't want her to work. He was worse when she did. I doubt he would then go and get her a role.

There are multiple texts shown of him apologising and saying he is clear now- ie not the monster. Including one directly after the finger incident which led to them splitting up. If he was so innocent why was he apologising like that.

I find it interesting that in the audio where she says she has all this evidence about abuse and texts etc going back years. All collaborative that he gave no response. Surely if someone was threatening you with those kind of claims you would deny it or have something to say about it. He references that she going to throw him under the bus and that it will be bad for both of them. All he says is- do you really think I was abusive and babe I lost a finger.

Surely if you are so innocent you would not say those things and you would immediately argue against such terrible accusations.

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 22:09

This witness is so useful! Thanks @minou123 if they are for AH bit Depps team do first and third I wonder if it's because it's a video?

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 22:10

*useless!!!! Not useful!!! So slippery.

You must have missed the end of her cross examination. It was very, very clear that she accidentally confirmed that she’d tipped off TMZ through one of her people.

And she did still have the keys but Depp had just told her that he wasn’t willing to make it part of the divorce settlement.

Facts you have missed- he left her. When it was clear he wasn’t coming back she filed for divorce, his lawyer sent a letter denying Amber’s initial request for her payout. Then she tipped off TMZ and public ally filed a temporary restraining order (even though she knew he was out of the country for two months). As soon as he returned to LA she arranged to meet him to ask to reconcile and then had the whole meeting recorded. During that meeting she asked him to get into bed with her a he refused. This is the meeting where she belittles him and tells him that no one will ever believe she hit him.

Not quite the story you are trying to peddle.

Yeah, maybe.

This witness is giving the impression she doesn't want to be there or give any information. But maybe, that's her personality

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 22:21

Useless ! I meant useless, autocorrect must be positive on my phone!

Seems very slippery. I wonder who the live witness is.

ENoeuf · 17/05/2022 22:22

I think the judge is being really firm to avoid any suggestion of bias
