Yes I know she's interviewing Boris but for fuck's sake, let him get a word in edgeways, even worse when Adil Ray is on as well.

She's so rude

Starmer didn't make the rules

Keir Starmer voted in favour of the rules in the HOC.

He has also been investigated by the Police

Durham police 'reviewed' the video footage - they haven't spoken to the two university students (witnesses) who filmed the gathering - the students have said they would be happy to speak to the police and make statements if asked.

She seems great but she isn't riding around on buses to keep warm. If she is then shame on her six children

Maybe her children aren’t in a position to support their mum as well as their own household.

5thHelena · 04/05/2022 21:13

It was an excellent interview

ClaudineClare · 04/05/2022 21:18

That link has stopped working for me. Is it kust me? If not, I have a feeling dirt is being dug on Elsie and Age UK has taken that article down to protect her.

ClaudineClare · 04/05/2022 21:18

Just me, not kust!🙄

derxa · 04/05/2022 21:21

Roussette · 04/05/2022 21:11

But there will be literally thousands of 'Elsies' out there. Ones who are in absolutely dire straits. I said it on the other thread... it's what Elsi stands for. The struggling, the impoverished, the worried sick about heating and/or eating etc

That's a valid point. Elsie probably agreed to appear on TV as a representative for these people

Roussette · 04/05/2022 21:21

It works Claudine so just you Smile

Unsure33 She was not rude at all. She was on a limited time for the interview and she seemed determined that his usual wiffle waffle was not going to detract from the questions she wanted answered.

Exactly

The link still works. She's been a campaigner - good on her!

"Elsie has volunteered in hospitals, for charities, at Imperial (as a research ambassador) and has also become quite the celebrity lately after meeting the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak and confronting him on the energy crisis. She has recently appeared on ITV news and been involved with a peaceful protest, asking for more help for over 50s. Elsie said she enjoyed getting to meet someone in power and having the chance to ask him questions without him giving pre-prepared answers!"

Good! I had visions of the Mail doing something vile.

WhatdoImean · 03/05/2022 09:04

Yep - it does feel like Central Office are on here soon, trying to set a "tone" for the discussion.... ;-)

Get in early, establish the discussion (i.e. blame the interviewer, NOT nice charming Boris) and make it all seem HER fault

Exactly this! He foolishly thought she’d be a walkover and he’d get the usual sycophantic interviewing he gets from Laura Kuenssberg or Andrew Marr! Instead he got actual questions and follow ups when he came out with his lies ( he did not introduce the 24 hour freedom bus pass! He was 9 years old when it came into existence!) and actual challenges to his false claims, distorted facts and shocking lack of empathy! Can see Tory HQ on here, trying to blame the interviewer, as they know how dismally he came across. Running scared and rightfully so.

TmFid · 04/05/2022 21:37

SueSaid · 03/05/2022 12:07

'He rolls up half an hour late'

He's the PM! I expect he has many more pressing concerns than going on GMB Grin

Con HQ outing themselves right here! Embarrassing!

sisuwasabellend · 04/05/2022 21:49

This is exactly how a good journalist is supposed to work. Don’t you get that she’s trying to put him on the spot - a spot that’s always too hot for him? A journalist’s job is exactly that. Not enough of us journos are doing it.

Lovely13 · 04/05/2022 21:49

Thought she handles the lying beast well.

Roussette · 04/05/2022 21:56

Oh !

I thought it would be beardy man

Roussette · 04/05/2022 21:57

Oooops wrong thread!

StrangeCondition · 03/05/2022 10:47

It's not really about Boris, he just happens to be the one she's interviewing today - she's like this with pretty much everyone

I don’t understand the double-standard here. Firstly, you clearly have no idea what journalism is supposed to be. It’s supposed to act as a watch dog on power. (The fact that it’s become entangled with said power is tragic, but that is not how it’s supposed to operate). Journalists need to be thought on power and hold it to account. Do you want Boris to speak? When we all know that he just lies? Her interview is meant to show this. Secondly. There are many male journalists that do exactly what Reid is doing - all the time. But do you call THEM rude?

hellrabbitishere · 04/05/2022 22:00

SleeplessInEngland · 03/05/2022 09:45

The interview did its job: made it clear neither he nor his party has an answer to the cost of living crisis.

and probably highlighted just how useless and out of touch he is as well

Clarityiskey · 04/05/2022 22:01

SpindleInTheWind · 03/05/2022 09:07

Boris Johnson is a hideous, lying, venal bastard.

Susanna Reid isn't.

Definitely 😁

Blossomtoes · 04/05/2022 22:04

Anyone remember this? Now, that was an interview!

Parker231 · 04/05/2022 22:05

You only have to listen/watch PMQ’s to know Boris wriggles out of answering any questions he is asked. She did a good job in the interview of keeping him to account. Need more interviews like this to show him up!

Downton57 · 04/05/2022 22:15

Tory voters are really showing themselves up on this thread as lacking in compassion and empathy. And stop with the 'I don't like Boris but'. If you loathed Johnson as much as most people do there could be no but.

Gilead · 04/05/2022 22:42

The Keir Starmer nonsense was started by an MP who scraped a red wall seat and is running scared. He just can’t get the tone right in his constituency, so frequently lashes out at either the previous incumbent or the Parliamentary Labour Party as a way of deflecting attention from the many cock ups of Mr. Johnson. He never answers questions about the shenanigans of the parliamentary party, he hides comments on his Facebook page or deletes them and anyone who dares to call him out is blocked.

Hmm1234 · 04/05/2022 22:57

Yep I think she’s been coached into acting like Piers Morgan she never used to present like this

Blossomtoes · 04/05/2022 23:02

Looks like Laura Pidcock might get her seat back at the next election then @ Gilead.
