Yes I know she's interviewing Boris but for fuck's sake, let him get a word in edgeways, even worse when Adil Ray is on as well.

She's so rude

Talking of canvassing leaflets, this says it all... desperation up in Hartlepool..

@AnonIsUsuallyAWoman utter tosh. You need to watch the interview before making such comments.

Interrupting a politician for dodging the question they're being asked is a good thing for an interviewer to do. Politicians get away with murder in interviews. Back when I used to listen to the Today programme it was incredibly obvious that the Tories got an easy ride from the awful John Humphrys whilst Labour/Lib Dem/Green politicians were interrupted every other word. About time Boris got a taste of it - especially since it was so fully justified.

Yes that's all well and good, however just ask a question rather than give a long winded speech. It was the Reid show with BJ allowed 5 sec answers as opposed to her 5min question.

I don’t recognise that to be honest.

pointythings · 04/05/2022 14:46

I don't recognise that interpretation either, but it's probably the favoured one among the Tory faithful.

She did a lot of talking.

I'm really not a 'Tory faithful', happily vote Labour if they ever get a credible front bench sorted out.

Absolute tosh.

I would go and time how long each one spoke if I were you...

Piers Morgan used to do that. She did not do that.

SunaksNutsack · 03/05/2022 09:19

I came on here to make this point but you did it more succinctly than me 😂 The tories have also tanked the economy and greatly exacerbated the cost of living crisis with their flawed policies.

The economy is so tanked record numbers are flying abroad every day.😂

There isn’t a prize for hyperbole.

You do know how many holidays were paid for and cancelled two years ago? We’re flying off tomorrow for our 2020 holiday.

mustlovegin · 04/05/2022 15:12

The Tories will think twice before going to GMB again

Is that a threat or a promise? Grin

I am amazed that people are suggesting our Eton/Oxford educated ex journalist PM can't cope with anything more than a friendly Laura Kuenssberg style chat.

No wonder he gave Andrew Neil the swerve.

But the Conservatives will no doubt shove out Schapps or Eustice to mop up whatever scandal breaks next.

I'm sure Boris will be able to get a portable fridge somewhere.

Don't be daft, we've just come back, the airports are packed with travelers old and new.
We have another 5 or 6 trips abroad booked this yr, people are saying the same.
Business Revenue is up, Dp has had a 5k pay rise with bonuses reinstated.

Only on Twitter are people whinging about the economy.

If you cannot get a well-paying job in this climate then you're doing something wrong.

the80sweregreat · 04/05/2022 16:35

I think a lot of people are taking holidays that have been put back from two years ago , once the prices shoot up for next year I think it'll slump again. They are already a lot more expensive for next Easter. The cost of the fuel will affect that too ( of course)
I can see another downturn coming for the travel industry. I know many people struggling with the cost of food and fuel now, it's not all great for many of my friends who are really worried about the future.

Notonthestairs · 04/05/2022 16:35

Right so because you are alright everyone else must be - or should be. Lazy sods.

"Around 9 in 10 (91%) adults reported their cost of living had increased in the latest period (13 to 24 April 2022). The figure was at 88% in the previous period (30 March to 10 April 2022) and continues an increase from 62% when this question was first included in the survey (3 to 14 November 2021).
The most common reasons given by those who said their living costs had increased were an increase in the price of food shopping (92%), an increase to gas or electricity bills (86%) and a rise in the cost of fuel (80%).
About 40% of those responsible for paying them said they had struggled to afford their energy bills (compared with 37% in the previous period).
One in five (20%) adults said they had been unable to buy fuel at some point in the last two weeks, compared with 8% in the previous period.
Food shopping has become more expensive for many, with 44% reporting they have had to spend more than usual to get what they normally buy. This compares with 37% in previous period." From ONS last week.
23% increase in business closures too (compared with same period last year). Highest in any quarter since 2017.

Tories should be expecting an increase in votes tomorrow given it's all just moaning on Twitter.

pointythings · 04/05/2022 16:37

If you cannot get a well-paying job in this climate then you're doing something wrong.

And there's the Tory - victim blaming people for being poor.

Someone has to do those low paid jobs. They're essential. They keep our society going. They're often hard, dirty, unsociable hours, back-breaking - but hey, all you have to do is just get a better one, right? So if you don't earn enough to feed yourself, pay your rent, be able to have heat and light - that's your fault for being a failure. You should just walk away and get a big job in finance, or something.

This is what Tories are - completely lacking in empathy for people less fortunate than they are.

ClaudineClare · 04/05/2022 16:45

Last gasp of the Tory faithful before the local elections...

We have another 5 or 6 trips abroad booked this yr, people are saying the same

Most people can't afford this in normal times.

MarshaBradyo · 04/05/2022 16:46

From what I see around me it’s active, busy, lots of spending - London seems to be so and lots of renovation work on my street, holidays etc

however it’s probably area dependent to a degree. Cost of living has increased which impact some more than others

Some saying they can't afford to, some saying only because they booked pre-covid.

😄. That is as desperate as Nads whanging on about curries for 30 people.
