To have never opened porn by mistake?

AlternativePerspective · 30/04/2022 06:41

MP Neil Parish says he may have opened porn in Commons by mistake www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-61280625
I never realised it was that easy, having only been using the internet for the last 20 years n all.

And now the poor love is being persecuted for his innocent mistake.

Seriously how stupid does he think people are?

Perhaps his wife might take over the constituency like ....

corlan · 30/04/2022 15:09

I can totally sympathise with the poor man. I was on the work computer and trying to find out ticket prices for the London Wetlands. Unfortunately I typed in 'London Wetlads' and nearly got fired.

Zilla1 · 30/04/2022 15:09

@Theimpossiblegirl You sound ideal. Is it to be an MP, Cabinet Minister or PM that's your next step?

newbiename · 30/04/2022 15:10

Buildingthefuture · 30/04/2022 06:46

Agree. I saw him on the TV, spluttering, trying to make excuses for what he very obviously did do. Vile man, he needs to go…..

Like a bad Little Britain sketch.

Zilla1 · 30/04/2022 15:14

It's getting like an apology isn't enough. Like the Minister said about the Chancellor's Green Card that it's getting like a rich person can't be a successful politician. clear discrimination. and envy. probably.

Zilla1 · 30/04/2022 15:15

Not the place to be speculating about the PM's search history on his burner 'phone.

theDudesmummy · 30/04/2022 15:18

#tractors gaining traction on Twitter

ilovemyelectriccar · 30/04/2022 15:33

Teaching volcanoes many years ago when I was younger and more naive I asked a class to Google "volcanic eruptions" Oh dear, what we got was not what we expected....

RunningFromInsanity · 30/04/2022 15:43

Is the issue that he was on his phone when he was suppose to be working (so if he was on Facebook he would be receiving the same sort of condemnation) or that fact that he was watching (legal) porn (in which case only those who have never watched porn can condemn)

MrsLargeEmbodied · 30/04/2022 16:40

he watched it intentionally, he enjoyed it
he was in the wrong place
perhaps he was addicted?
he was near to tears in the interview.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 30/04/2022 16:40

i feel for his wife and family

Thesefeetaremadeforwalking · 30/04/2022 17:01

So now he has resigned - good.

I hope they now make it a rule that mobiles should be turned off in the Chamber.

I hope this is a lesson for any other MPs who have a fixation about tractors...

Mysterian · 30/04/2022 17:14

I have. I just google imaged "Raleigh Chopper" looking for a groovy bike picture and one of the images was very unsuitable. It happens. But I doubt his phone would have showed just the odd page.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 30/04/2022 17:26

When DS was 3-4ish I spent hours googling Tractors, and funnily enough, never got directed to a porn site. 🙄

theDudesmummy · 30/04/2022 18:32

I feel for his children. Not his wife after what she said.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 30/04/2022 18:45

What did his wife say

OhWhatFuckeryIsThisNow · 30/04/2022 19:51

20 plus years ago a friend was going to France, on the way he texted me and asked if I could look for Internet cafes in the town they were going to. Next thing the screen was filled with pop ups for hundreds of gay porn sites, none of which left anything to the imagination. Luckily the IT guys thought it was hysterical.

plinkplinkfizzer · 30/04/2022 19:59

Not read the thread but I have never opened porn by mistake and I don't think I've ever seen a porn website, I have used internet since 2000 . I asked the husband how this is possible and he just smirked 🤣

Even those who have or do watch porn can condemn watching it in front of other people in a public place.

1dayatatime · 30/04/2022 22:15

It can easily happen, I mean I've been trying to Google porn sites all evening but all I seen to see and get is links and images of John Deere tractors ploughing fields or Massey Ferguson's spraying crops or New Hollands towing hay trailers.

So frustrating, maybe there is a Google coding search fault between tractors and porn, I mean it sounds similar?

Zilla1 · 01/05/2022 09:19

That poor man. Takes a stand to highlight the abusive atmosphere of Westminster and Central Office throw him under a bus. It's getting like a tractor-lover can't be a politician. Unless it was an accident and Googling 'Massive Fergus' or 'Tractor position' mislead him in which case it is clearly the fault of the tractors in the videos.

Zilla1 · 01/05/2022 09:33

And it's getting like someone can't advise perfectly legitimate nations who are entitled to pay enormous sums for legal advice without representatives of that nation having their visit to the USA being interrupted. They might need advice of an entirely different nature now and those advisors, if MPs might think twice if they are in an office in the Houses of Parliament and that is clearly in no one's interest.

Lapun · 01/05/2022 18:30

Well I have managed to get a porn page on my iPad when looking for something about dogs……as I am almost 88 let me assure all you younger women I am not at all interested in it.
Regarding Mr Parish, ofcourse he should not have been viewing such trash in his workplace but if the majority of you think all mean who view any man who views porn is a “slimy toad” then you are deluded. Many males like looking at awful sex porn on their phones. I would think men who lack a regular sex life May do so.
I was always a feminist before quite a few of you were born and fought the good fight for equal pay and equal rights, but these days many women speak out about men who patted their bottoms or their knee years after the event. Why? If any man touched me inappropriately I would deal with him on the spot. Not suddenly bring it up 10 years later.

Re this MP ofcourse he should resign but if I was one of those female Tory MPs I would have corralled him outside the chamber and warned him in no uncertain manner that if he did not stop using that disgusting stuff then they would report him. There was no thought in hurting his wife and children if the behaviour became public and that goes for him too. However, it is not only Tories who view this stuff online so just quit being a Tory hater please.
These days some of you sound like shrinking violets and wonder what happened to dealing with wandering hands ….just deal with these men on the spot and embarrass them. Just stop whinging and learn how to deal with such horrible men.
I am not talking here about women who are physically attacked or suffer physical and mental abuse from a partner at home. I am talking about men who touch inappropriately or make lewd remarks etc.
OK I am ready for your replies….at my age I just shrug my shoulders. Opinion differences are fine with me ..I am a Germaine Greer type of woman.
