To buy an official oodie rather than a much cheaper replica?

oodie offer on. But one get one free. So £84 for two.

good deal but…. The replicas are substantially cheaper than the oodie offer price.

any thoughts re those that have experienced both?!

many thanks

I have an Oodie and a kuddly, Oodie is a bit thicker but I don't think it would make much difference come the winter. Kuddly are currently doing 2 for 49 if that sways you!

Puffalicious · 29/04/2022 16:04

That's an AMAZING price for Kuddlys! Wow.

I have an avocado 🥑 one! I love it! I'm veggie and used to make avocado on toast years ago, before it got hipster, so my sister always calls me the originals hipster🤣 So it HAD to be an avocado on toast oodie!

For my DC I got the pizza, sloth and alsation. The alsation is gorgeous- my favourite, much more lovely in the flesh.

So now I've had a chance to use my kuddly, here's my comparison.

The oodie is thicker - it has two layers rather than one - and as a result is significantly warmer. The downside of that is that it's also more awkward to do stuff in - it gets in the way more.

The kuddly is a single layer, and it's slightly longer and narrower, as well as lighter. This means it's easier to be up and doing things while wearing it.

I would say that if you are after something as warm as possible, get the oodie. If you want something that's more flexible and you can, for example, wear while dusting, the kuddly is your better bet.

I haven't tried any of the cheaper dupes. I imagine they will be closer to the kuddly than the oodie.

I've never had an Oodie in my hands to know the difference but I got the Sienna blanket hoodie from online home shop on eBay and I love it.
My DD has the regular one and loves it so I decided to buy myself one and they'd started doing a longer length one so I got that. I love it and it was £17.99!

I have a Primark one and DH has a real one, his is definitely heavier/thicker than mine. Both are good though - our choices were based around which designs were available where.

I retract this as I’ve just found a hole in my primark one and I’ve only had it six months ☹️ The Oodie seems to be more hard wearing

mycatisannoying · 02/05/2022 23:23

Hmm, I have always been a fan of the Sienna one (had bought several for my daughters and their friends), but ordered myself one for the first time a few days ago, and it arrived today (from EBay).
I would urge anyone buying one to go for the grey. I got the blush pink one, and it's definitely not as thick (unless they have all changed since I last ordered) Sad

VincaBlue · 02/05/2022 23:30

We've got dark grey, light grey and blush pink and they're the same. I wonder if you've been sent a dodgy one. We like ours

VincaBlue · 02/05/2022 23:33

Ours were bought from amazon in October, Jan and March

ThinWomansBrain · 02/05/2022 23:39

I've got a primark one - but I got it quite a while ago when they first started doing them - ones I've seen in stores more recently look thinner and cheaper. & naff fabric patterns
that said, I often get too hot wearing it

Winecrispschocolatecats · 02/05/2022 23:42

I have an Oodie and a much cheaper replica from Amazon. The Oodie is slightly thicker, a bit longer, and much too warm for me (despite me being a constantly cold person in a freezing house!). I just can't get on with it. The cheap replica has been worn every day all winter except when it needs a wash- it washes beautifully btw - and is warm, soft and snuggly. As both of the kids prefer their cheap replicas too, I'm planning to ebay the Oodie and get a couple more of the cheaper ones 😂

Spanglybangles · 03/05/2022 00:30

I have The Comfy, was £30 from Costco. I bought after spying it online when I was on the verge of buying The Oodie, the reviews are amazing and the cheaper price appealed. It’s super thick, long and sooo cosy. It’s heavy and cumbersome, but I really feel the cold and just live to put it on whilst sat on the sofa of an evening. I went for the leopard print design pictured.

I love my oodie (we got the 2for1 deal too) but it loses the inside fluffiness after a wash. Doesnt affect how good it is, particularly now utilities prices are going up but was a bit disappointing

I have 2 Sienna ones - the black one was gorgeous, double layered and well made and the grey one was a single layer and very cheap looking with no branded label in it. The grey one was shipped from China from a different seller to "online home store" which had been recommended here.

the Fluffy inside on both went horrible after washing though.

Hi. Just resurrecting to let you know that branded Oodies are now £49 on the official website. Due to it being almost summer - and less demand at this time of year I suppose - there are good bargains to be had.
Hope that helps someone!
