The School of Sexuality Education (which worked on the ‘Family Sex Show’) is apparently delivering sex ed in many schools across the U.K…

Given the organisation feels it appropriate that unvetted Twitter randoms strip naked to talk to 5 year olds about masturbation, not to mention their strong ‘gender’ ideology, I feel it important that MN users are made aware of this.

Interested in any thoughts as well.

@Tilltheend99

I followed the link and literally the first thing it says is that they follow the government’s guidelines for sex education in schools. YABU

You are also scaremongering

And I tell my kids not to believe everything they read on the Internet.

Scaremongering, no, think you are looking for another word beginning with S...now what is it........ah yes Safeguarding

LolaO · 16/04/2022 20:40

I’m rather relieved to see that not only are the DC’s school not on there but nor are any other within a 10 mile radius. Another wonderful joy of what my city living, proud to be very “woke” sibling sees as our “unenlightened and limited” rural lifestyle. Here feels safer for my children to be honest.

notwhatineednow · 16/04/2022 20:41

The ones near me are marking postcodes, not schools. I imagine they're saying they work with a school in that postcode, and Google maps sticks the marker in the centre of the postcode area.

Dairymilk50 · 16/04/2022 20:41

No my DC school isn't. It's disgusting though.

Knackeredbutnot · 16/04/2022 20:42

The company used to be called ‘Sexplain’ and now is ‘School of Sexuality’. They have an excellent book (called Sex Ed) which you can buy from Amazon. The information is factual, non-judgemental and covers a wide range of topics based on the new RSE guidelines.
Teenagers deserve better Sex Ed - which is free from shame, clear about consent and which covers topics that are relevant to them and the world that they are growing up in. I cannot see a problem with that.

AHungryCaterpillar · 16/04/2022 20:42

2 schools local to me are on there.
Luckily my kids don’t go to them

HeadacheGrey · 16/04/2022 20:42

The first one I clicked on is a driving school 😆

NeverDropYourMooncup · 16/04/2022 20:42

They aren't over schools themselves, but the nearest schools to the bananas round here are Catholic Infant schools.

There ain't no way the Diocese is permitting that. No way.

But of course, if you claim loads of places are hiring you but not exactly who they are, people might come to believe that you've been accepted and it is normal for your business to be in schools. And nobody can query whether the information is fake because oh, confidentiality.

Jewel52 · 16/04/2022 20:43

What a weird post. Can’t work out what’s going on here

BunsyGirl · 16/04/2022 20:44

No and I’m very thankful that my Primary aged DC goes to a Catholic school that wouldn’t dare to engage with something so unsuitable for a small child. And I’m not Catholic by the way!

TenThousandSpoons · 16/04/2022 20:49

I zoomed into 3 in my area and the banana skins are not on schools. Nowhere near any schools in some cases.
Hmm

OrchardBlack · 16/04/2022 20:50

Do you have proof they aren't DBS checked? I would highly doubt this is the case if they are now doing TIE (theatre in education).

You’re right, teenagers deserve better than:

Myth #2: All women have vaginas. ‘It’s a girl!’ the midwife exclaimed after looking at the baby’s genitals and deciding they fit the textbook description of female genitalia. Due to misconceptions surrounding sex and gender we often automatically assume that if you’re a woman you must have a vagina. However, genitalia is not an indicator of gender and assuming so erases the existence of intersex people, trans and non-binary people.

As far as I am aware the actors are not DBS checked. There is no reference to vetting at all, the actors were in fact recruited from Twitter not that long ago.

You can read about the concern over their alleged involvement with the family sex show below

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/4524406-Deeply-concerned-about-Child-Safety-in-Bristol

There is an ongoing discussion on the show on the link below

Dinosauria · 16/04/2022 20:51

Orchard they recruited via twitter less than a month ago, being working class was a prerequisite a DBS less so.

It’s quite simple, I wanted to raise awareness among parents of what exactly is being taught in their kids schools. In case they were interested or hadn’t been made previously aware.

SpidersAreShitheads · 16/04/2022 20:52

The map is very disingenuous. There's no school in where the banana skin is placed in Gloucester - they've actually tagged the local leisure centre.

So the question is - are they deliberately disguising what schools they're in or is this graphic just a lazy way of saying they're all over the country?

And for PP suggesting there are no concerns because they "follow government guidelines" - you really need to check out the previous post and the content of the Family Sex Show which suggests adult nudity and discussions about "sex as a vehicle for pleasure" and masturbation are all suitable for a night out with a 5 yr old. Not what the NSPCC and government recommend at all - hence the concerns. And I'm about as far as you could get when it comes to being a prude about nudity and sex.

elfycat · 16/04/2022 20:55

There's one near DD2's school... down the road a bit and 'named' after the county we're in.

And I know the head teacher at the school would have no time for any of that. Their safeguarding would see this for what it is.

Smoke and mirrors.

The website says they provide workshops for ks3 and up, so not 5 year olds.

Do you really think any schools would allow visitors to strip naked?

I think your real issue is with the inclusivity around gender. Why not just say that?

chisanunian · 16/04/2022 20:56

Registered charity eh?

Stretch · 16/04/2022 20:57

My DD2 (16) her college is there with a banana skin on it. Fab 🙄😕

Very angry about any schools employing this company teaching those ideas.

FairyLightPups · 16/04/2022 20:59

I agree that the show was a mess but the curriculum page is perfectly reasonable.
