Onlyfans etc. Grim or not?

Separate discussion where I said I think those sort of sites are awful. Sad and tawdry. The people who put the content on are as bad as the ones paying for it. I think it's an unpopular opinion on MN.

I think there will be women/girls on the site who are being forced into performing for 'fans'. The money could still end up in some pimp's bank account.

Do you know that only onlyfans is used by chefs, musicians, artists etc?! It isn't purely for content from women to subscribers.

And also. In my personal opinion. If a woman wants to control what subscribers see of them and charge money for it then why not? Her body. Her choice.

I think this is really significant. Especially as it's most likely to lure young women and also normalised by some universities to young people who have just left the protection (in most cases) of home. It would seem that this is (and probably is) physically safer. Which may entice larger numbers of women than in person prostitution. Therefore refusing costs as others have pointed out, or the need to perform more extreme acts. The problem is then similarly to traditional prostitution is leaving the industry. What would be the issues ? Blackmail? What professions might deny entry if a background with OF. I could see this likely with many public facing roles, teaching, police officer, HCP , politician etc. The temptation to dip back in if finances are tight. Also god forbid the slippery slope of actual prostitution.

I am an open minded person but I would not do OF’s. I worry some women are exploited. I don’t think it’s all it seems for them (not glam)
