Apparently Mon-Fri 8am to 6pm childcare is normal.. AIBU to think that's a lot? That's more hours than most full time jobs

@MajorCarolDanvers

And so *@FairyCatMother* throws grenade and then runs away
Yup. Agree.
MajorCarolDanvers · 13/04/2022 19:39

My DD chooses to go to after school club 3 x per week. She doesn't have to cause we wfh. But she loves it. It's a big play date with her friends plus snacks. Her choice.

Fernshire · 13/04/2022 19:43
@Fernshire You seem very resentful towards those who have different made different decisions and priorities to you, to the extent where your bitterness is almost laughable. Care to read my previous posts before entering the discussion with your rather immature hostility and expletives? I don't think my financial situation could be described as rich, and people like you give SAHP a bad name by assuming it is a choice preserved for the wealthy. So to quote yourself, why don't 'fuck the fuck off' back under whichever rock you emerged from.
Ah you're hilarious. What is it exactly you think I'm bitter about?
No love, people like YOU give SAHP a bad name. As evidenced by all your posts on this thread, and I have read all of them.

And as an adult almost 40 year old woman, I'll use as many immature expletives as I like thank you very much.

(You do realise I can't give SAHP a bad name, because I'm not one. It doesn't work like that.)
@AchillesPoirot I will list them briefly on the basis that I refuse to be drawn into any further discussion about it on this thread:

 • Abortion - I am completely anti-abortion, without exception.
 • Pornography - Its availability has objectified and demeaned women
 • Contraception - Its existence has caused the prevalence of the two evils mentioned above.

As you can guess, I am Catholic. On that note I'm signing off for the evening. Wishing everyone a blessed and happy Easter!
So you think that not only abortion but also contraception should be illegal.

Forget the 1800s, you belong in the dark ages.

Waiting for you to come back tomorrow to explain why women are the property of their husbands, marital rape should be illegal and lesbians should be sent to the asylum.

Thankfully not all Catholics are as horribly misogynistic as you.

codeVeronica · 13/04/2022 19:45

Would you rather I had to stay with someone who was abusive?

I'd say that @FairyCatMother definitely would.

You are against contraception? So how do I avoid bringing an unwanted child into the world if I can't use contraception and can't have an abortion?

I assume you do not have sex for pleasure in that case.

AchillesPoirot · 13/04/2022 19:48

@codeVeronica

I'd say that @FairyCatMother definitely would.

I think she would too.

I’m interested how contraception causes abortions?

AchillesPoirot · 13/04/2022 19:49

Also. How am I supposed to have the casual non relationship sex I wanted (not now - I’m menopausal) without having a clatter of wains as a fallen woman? Would I be sent to the laundries?

user1471459761 · 13/04/2022 19:53

Well of course it is. How do you think parents drop off and pick up and work in between!! My children seem to have survived this pretty well!

sweetbambi · 13/04/2022 19:53

@codeVeronica not all catholics are like that and I am ashamed some still have these outdated views. thankfully this was not the catholic environment I was exposed to by my family

voldr · 13/04/2022 19:54

@FairyCatMother

Do you think contraception should be banned for men too or just for women? What about same-sex couples?

What roles do you think women are less suited for than men?

I mean. As my granny used to say. There’s worse things you can get from unprotected sex than a wee babby.

Or doesn’t that matter?

FairyCatMother · 13/04/2022 19:56

@voldr As a Catholic who lives by Church teaching, I am against the notion of same-sex relationships.

You're a homophobe as well as a sexist then.

Your poor kids. I hope none of them turn out to be gay.

Pebbledashery · 13/04/2022 19:57

Wow you'd hate me then. I'm an nhs key worker and my daughter goes to nursery 7am to 6.00pm because of my shifts. I never thought for a moment it's too much as she's in a perfect routine there and at home and has come leaps and bounds.

brookstar · 13/04/2022 19:58

What roles do you think women are less suited for than men?

This has been asked a few times but they're avoiding the question..... I'm not sure I want to hear the answer given the other deeply troubling views expressed.

AchillesPoirot · 13/04/2022 19:58

That’s actually the worst post I’ve ever seen on here. You’re actually advocating sending me to a laundry.

I’m Irish. I know well what that means.

You are beneath contempt.

Homophobic as well as a misogynistic woman hater then.

Casual sex can be amazing by the way. Maybe that's why some women like it.

She probably doesn't believe in sex outside marriage, being Catholic. You aren't supposed to have sex for fun if you're single.
