How often do you wash your hair?

Frankie Bridge has said on Instagram that she's now gone 4 days without washing her hair.

I wash mine once a week - is everyone else doing it every day?! AIBU to think 4 days is nothing?

Twice a week, occasionally can last a week with the aid of batiste dry shampoo!

HereIGoAgainAndAgainAndAgain · 12/04/2022 13:12

Never. V short hair though that gets a vigorous scrub every time I shower. Once went 6weeks with hair that was below my shoulder

DailySheetWasher · 12/04/2022 13:19

Twice a week. My hair could definitely go longer but my scalp won't, it feels itchy and gross on day 4.

Abraxan · 12/04/2022 13:27

Daily.
Hate not washing it and it's just part of my very quick morning shower routine. My hair is in good condition so it hasn't caused me any issues having washed it daily for decades.

OfstedOffred · 12/04/2022 13:47

Twice a week. I've never washed it more than that.

Justcallmebebes · 12/04/2022 14:07

Twice a week. So glad to read I'm not the only one. I thought everyone would be saying at least twice a day!! My hair seems to get greasier quicker if washed more often

namechangeforprivacyxxx · 12/04/2022 14:27

Once a week, I have long wavy hair so dryness is my issue not greasyness. I shower every day but was hair once a week.

Coffeeholix · 12/04/2022 14:44

Every 4-6 days depending on what’s happening / if I need it freshly washed if I’m going out etc. Sometimes I eek it out to 7 or 8 days. I used to wash it every other day, now I find it such a faff.

LemonMuffins · 12/04/2022 14:46

Daily, otherwise it looks greasy and feels disgusting.

sophienelisse · 12/04/2022 18:16

Twice a week. It's long and thick and curly and I like it straight. Usually I plan my washing it and blow drying to when I know it needs to look half decent.

I wash it once in between where I let it dry naturally. This only really looks ok for a day then it just looks untidy in my opinion.

AliTheMinx · 12/04/2022 18:32

Every day. Any longer and it gets greasy :-/

wendywoopywoo222 · 12/04/2022 18:39

I wash mine once a week but sometimes it's longer than that. When I had it short I did it every day to keep the style. My hairs very dry.

PinkSyCo · 12/04/2022 18:43

Every other day when I shower. No I don’t shower daily. Yah boo.

sarah77Boo · 12/04/2022 18:45

I work three days a week and always wash it on the morning of work days or I'd look like I'd been dragged in through a particularly spiteful bush on my way to work. On my couple of days off and if I'm not going anywhere I just give it a good brush or do a messy bun if it's beyond help! I always wash it if I'm going to be seen by people other than family. I think it depends on your hair. Mine is super fine and can go a bit frizzy day after washing and post brushing and occasionally bit wild post sleeping! I'd love thick mane like hair which I feel would get away with less washing. We always want what we're not blessed with!!

EdithStourton · 12/04/2022 18:53

Mine is a fucking nightmare. Lots of it (looks terrible short), and takes about a century to dry (can't use a hair drier, that makes it stick out at right angles to my head).

Every 4-5 days. And even that feels like too bloody often.

Justleaveitblankthen · 12/04/2022 19:00

Whenever I go swimming and only then because I have to. Usually twice a week or so. Every morning I dampen it and smooth or spray leave-in conditioner as it's thinning, fine, frizzy and over-processed Confused
Sometimes Leave it 8 or more days after I've home coloured it. Couldn't go 10 days though.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 12/04/2022 19:02

Every other day but it doesn't feel as nice on the second day.

Tanfastic · 12/04/2022 19:04

I used to wash mine every single day, I have no idea why I could be arsed to do that as I have long hair! Since discovering dry shampoo and pinning my hair up I can now eek it out to every three days. I can only get away with wearing it down on the first day though.

ZealAndArdour · 12/04/2022 19:05

Once a week.

Ninjaexpress · 12/04/2022 19:06

Every day with just water in the shower. Shampoo about every 4/5 days. I noticed it's in much better condition now, lovely and shiny, but more controllable than when it was shampoo'd every day.

Georgyporky · 12/04/2022 19:06

Every morning in the shower.

Can't believe that some people leave it so long.

GreyCarpet · 12/04/2022 19:07

Wednesdays and Friday or Saturday depending in whether I'm going out or not.

StrawberrySquash · 12/04/2022 19:20

Daily because it gets greasy if I don't. Yes, I've tried. But different people have different bodies so I never really understand these celebrities who go 'I'm so real I haven't washed my hair in four days.' I'd that's how your body works then great. Some hair doesn't get greasy fast!

ExplodingElephants · 12/04/2022 19:22

About twice a week but I’m also trying to cut down on water use so that’s part of it 😢

MrOllivander · 12/04/2022 19:23

@Georgyporky

Every morning in the shower. Can't believe that some people leave it so long.
I have curly hair, and lots of it Washing it daily wouldn't be good for it, and it takes me a good 15 mins to wash, then 45 mins diffusing and then another couple of hours before it's 100% dry I don't have the time to do that daily
