To write my neighbour a letter

They’re not a next door neighbour think number 85 and 65 type neighbours.

We’ve lived here 4.5 years, obviously in 2020 started walking lots. Noticed that on their front garden wall (the one which joins their garden to their next door neighbour) is a boot. A womens shoe. This was in 2020. The boot is still there.

WIBU to write an anonymous letter asking them what their intention is with this boot? It’s a black, suede ankle boot with a 2 inch heel. We only spotted it cos we thought it was a cat (lockdown led us to going cat spotting on our daily walks ffs).

I would put a stuffed sock in it then gradually build it up over time until it is a full scarecrow

I have had a Childs hat on my wall since January I didnt put it there- I assume it was dropped and someone picked it up The child may come back

They aren’t elderly, not that I know of anyway! The boot also is closer to their house than the street so seems odd that it’d be a passer by?

Should I just knock on and say I think you have lost your boot, maybe in 2020? 😂😂 it might have been there earlier.. that’s just when we noticed.

Posters asking why do I care, I’m hardly losing sleep over it but wouldn’t you be slightly confused if you saw a boot on a wall which had been left for years?

I know people who use things like this to plant seeds or for decoration so I wouldn’t think twice about it.

I have two rainbow bracelets on my fence, been there since lockdown one. I'm not sure if they were intended for my dc or been dropped and someone's just presumed they're ours. Guess I should finally chuck them now.

Set up a new email address and fire that letter off

Make a little placard saying Give Boris Johnson The Boot, put it in the boot, see what happens next. This could be the start of revolution.

.... or maybe a mouse family that got evicted from the house because an old woman moved in (from the boot)
