trib.al/ov5g0nj I can’t stand the throes but agree with this

Well, this is what happens when you have someone in charge who is not afraid to be unpopular. They actually say sensible things sometimes, things that need saying.

TheKeatingFive · 06/04/2022 19:42

We can’t say that transgender is okay on one hand and then say that those who have transgendered can’t take part in their chosen sport or career.

No ones saying they can't take part, what an odd comment Confused

They can take part in their sex class. Which is entirely appropriate give they're transgender

He’s terrified of being unpopular. He’s the ultimate people pleaser. And he’s found the perfect way to please single issue feminists.

This is a joke right? Carrie is that you love?
musicalfrog · 06/04/2022 19:43

So he may not follow through.

You know who else won't?

All the people who aren't even talking sense about it!

I mean, come on people. He's the best of a bad bunch.

HRTQueen · 06/04/2022 19:43

I’m discussing the issue of men not being able to compete as a woman and men not being in women’s spaces

And that it is now being moved to headline news and political debate I am pleased. Its no longer just argued about on social media no longer will people be unaware of the changes that are taking place

I have not made a comment on conversion therapy

Oh please and as for sound bite political spin no one has been quite as masterful as this Blair’s righthand man Alister Campbell

But is it makes you feel better to call others sheep go ahead it doesn’t win anyone over

SarahBellam · 06/04/2022 19:43

@Callipygion

You are aware Boris Johnson is a habitual liar aren’t you. I wouldn’t believe a word that that man utters, he probably really thinks the opposite but is just saying what he thinks you want to hear to put HIMSELF in a good light.
I think he’s a dick, but I can’t see any reason why he would think the opposite. This is just common sense. Biological males can ape women to their heart’s content and vice versa. I have zero problem with that. Let people dress and act how they want. But biological males are not women and they shouldn’t be in spaces where they put women at a disadvantage or make them feel uncomfortable or vulnerable.
Awwlookatmybabyspider · 06/04/2022 19:44

Well we all know what they say about broken clocks don't we

walkersareback · 06/04/2022 19:44

@Stripyhoglets1

I agree with what he says but make no mistake that if he thought saying TWAW would win them more votes right now - he'd fully go for that instead. But they've gleefully realised this might get them out of the shit they were facing at the local elections where they were due to get a hammering - this has been a gift to them. The tories don't respect women. The tory policies over the last 12 years have harmed alot of women too. I might agree with what he says here but the rest of the extensive harm they have caused means I would never ever vote for them.
Thank you for articulating what I could not.
Burgoo · 06/04/2022 19:44

He is playing to the female vote. Its all BS and he will say anything to get you to vote for him. I know someone who knows him personally. They say he is charming and funny and at the same time he will say anything to anyone to win them over. He changes his views on a daily basis depending on who he is talking to. He has little conviction in his beliefs, he is a weather vane when it comes to ethnics, morals or views.

I don't trust him and people should avoid voting for him just because he is saying what you want to hear. He will undoubtedly say what he needs to.

I suspect that this whole thing is actually a relatively low number of very loud activists who have made the public believe that women are under attack from trans women. I know nobody in real life who is even remotely concerned by this hysterical issue.

PrivateHall · 06/04/2022 19:44

@GreenLunchBox

Maybe click on the link in the OP. hmm @GreenLunchBox*

Nah, you're all right

Same! Who would click on a weird looking link like that?

Even worse, they will and we’ll get self ID and further erasure of our rights
Melroses · 06/04/2022 19:44

I agree with Boris and I am going to write to my MP to say so.

Supersee · 06/04/2022 19:44

@Bignanny30

Yes you can. You can change gender all you like. You can't change biological sex and suddenly not have all the physiological advantages that a sexed male has over a female.

Westchesterarms · 06/04/2022 19:44

@LexMitior
These are all things his party nurtured and supported. Their policies. They get zero credit until there is actual proposal to sort out the mess that has occured with trans policy.

Slow hand clap for a guy who agrees his own party policy is a mess. Well done. Really low order stuff.

Let's say I agree with your statements, if I look at all the parties all of them are ploughing on with policies that can disadvantage or endanger women. But you prefer that course of action to that of a person/party changing their stance to protect women's spaces and rights.

It takes more balls to put right something you got wrong than it does to just keep going in denial. He is taking a political risk doing that so actually deserves a blinking big hand clap. Save your slow handclap for those parties, ie all the other parties, which are carrying on with their harmful policies.

musicalfrog · 06/04/2022 19:45

Well quite @MarshaBradyo

Struggling to understand these posters. Assume they are on the side of the TRAs can't think of another reason they'd be so down on this.

Lowhum · 06/04/2022 19:45

To those who live in Wales, Labour and Plaid are pushing more and more to ‘neutralise’ single sex spaces. Maybe this election is the one to say ‘no thank you’ when they canvas.

Turningpurple · 06/04/2022 19:46

And he’s found the perfect way to please single issue feminists

Its nor a single issue.

Its female safety
Its female sports
Respecting females same sex attraction
Its about not allowing lesbians to be, further, abused for their sexuality.
Its about safety for females in female prisons

It goes on and on.

Dammitthisisshit · 06/04/2022 19:46

We can’t say that transgender is okay on one hand and then say that those who have transgendered can’t take part in their chosen sport or career.
We can, as sport and facilities should be segregated by sex, gender is irrelevant.
Oh and whilst I respect the right of adults to live their lives however they want to (as long as they’re not breaking laws/hurting anyone else) then I will never say that medical intervention of trans minors is okay.

ronjobbins · 06/04/2022 19:46

Well said Boris 👏👏👏👏

VioletCharlotte · 06/04/2022 19:47

I never thought I'd say this, but so do I!

HerbertChops · 06/04/2022 19:47

Never voted conservative in my life until the last election. They didn’t get in where I live but I couldn’t vote libdems (who are in here) or labour or greens. Who else is there that understands a woman is an adult human female?

NewYearSoon · 06/04/2022 19:48

@Bignanny30

We can’t say that transgender is okay on one hand and then say that those who have transgendered can’t take part in their chosen sport or career.
They can take part in their chosen sport, in the class they competed in before declaring they were trans.
Blossomtoes · 06/04/2022 19:48

What’s he put right? Not 12 years of policies that disadvantage women. He’s done nothing except come up with a soundbite that’s got a huge number of women who think they’re feminists wetting their knickers.

Likeli · 06/04/2022 19:48

I agree with him and I really don’t see why people wouldn’t. It just makes logical sense.
