trib.al/ov5g0nj I can’t stand the throes but agree with this

@PeskyRooks

OK yes I agree with him. But even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day.
Haven't heard that saying in a while, its brilliant!
DazzlingDarrenDring · 07/04/2022 10:06

Well, that's mumsnet bought and paid for by the Tories, kudos to the strategist who came up with this.

Johnson ( it's not Boris, btw, same as it was never 'Theresa') won't care either way, it doesn't affect him, but coming out with this statement is a vote winner for selfish, easy manipulated people.

This is ONE policy or point of view you might agree with, and the insinuation is that you will vote for this corrupt, racist, bigoted, misogynistic scumbag again?

I find that really, really pathetic.

TheKeatingFive · 07/04/2022 10:10

I find that really, really pathetic.

Haven't we covered the fact that insulting people is never the way to get them to change their mind?

Why would anyone vote for a party so keen to brand them selfish, pathetic, easily manipulated?

Really, I'd love your view on that. Why?

HRTQueen · 07/04/2022 10:11

😆 more of you just can’t see how easily manipulated you are

Being polite and reasonable doesn't make a difference, hasn't made a difference, so I will call people out for exactly what they are.

If you are going to vote for this ghoul and his henchmen based on one statement from the serial liar, then you are pathetic.

And why, exactly, should women vote for Labour - whose MPs have openly said they don't want our votes?

And Irony ain't just how you get the wrinkles out of your clothesy, eh?
SpinningTheSeedsOfLove · 07/04/2022 10:15

I'd like to write to some of these MPs like Lammy and Blunt but I think their assistants wouldn't care and would automatically bin my letters as I am not their constituent

I think it's profoundly undemocratic for MPs to be able to bin letters from non-constituents when they are allowed to talk absolute bollocks on national tv, national radio and in national newspapers, insulting and demeaning ALL women who even mildly disagree with one of their policy positions.

It's utter cowardice and poor governance, hiding behind a mask of 'procedural tradition'.

And don't even get me started on Blunt's odiously undemocratic 'All Party Parliamentary Group' (APPG) that he chairs, which he thinks makes him some of global fucking guru. Him and his mate Nick Herbert are a bloody disgrace to Parliament.

heathspeedwell · 07/04/2022 10:16

I think he's a liar and a misogynist, but you can see he has genuinely thought about this issue and you can't argue with his logic.

I've never voted Conservative in my life but I will this time because protecting women and girls is so important.

Turningpurple · 07/04/2022 10:16

I have no idea how I will vote. I have time.

However, I can't believe so many people think they make a good point by insulting people.

Hasn't worked in the last view general elections or with Brexit.why would it work now?

DomesticatedZombie · 07/04/2022 10:17

If you are going to vote for this ghoul and his henchmen based on one statement from the serial liar, then you are pathetic.

That's not what we call a persuasive argument.

So Labour are so bad, that the only possible way to get people to vote for Labour is to insult them and shame them into voting Labour?

Sounds like a great strategy 👍

Turningpurple · 07/04/2022 10:19

Would love to see a reasonable and polite argument that can convince me that it's OK to erase women. I happy to hear it.

TheKeatingFive · 07/04/2022 10:19

And ... no fucking way will they vote for your party of choice.

Epic fail love

AtrociousCircumstance · 07/04/2022 10:20

Surely the fact that so many Tory-hating women are celebrating Boris’s statement highlights how desperate we are for any show of sanity around this, and how much it means?

It means a great deal. His statement is massive. Regardless of what anyone thinks of him - it’s incredibly important that it has been said.

Pazuzu · 07/04/2022 10:22

@Staffy1

Is it a mumsnet requirement to hate the conservatives and the daily mail with every fibre of your being and announce it at every opportunity?
Pretty much.

Don't forget to be extremely original and humorous and call it the "Daily Fail" and then read the Guardian (a newspaper which bemoans tax dodging Tories but was set up with a tax avoiding corporate structure)

RufusthefIoraImissingreindeer · 07/04/2022 10:23

Didn't the lib dems make comments along the lines of 'don't vote for us if you don't believe transwomen are women'?

Not...'we'd rather transphobs Didn't vote for us'

Cos honestly....you'd think these parties would appreciate every vote they can get

hamstersarse · 07/04/2022 10:24

I take it as a compliment to be branded right wing these days. In no sense would I like to be associated with what the left represent these days.

bellinisurge · 07/04/2022 10:25

It is necessary to say how much you hate the Tories because one of the TRA talk points is that only right wing extremists believe this. They need reminding constantly tbat these are Left-Wing women raising concerns.

TheKeatingFive · 07/04/2022 10:26

I take it as a compliment to be branded right wing these days.

Oh totally agree. I never thought I'd see the day 😵

lifeturnsonadime · 07/04/2022 10:28

When Labour fail to displace the Conservatives in the next general election because women won't vote for a party that supports self ID which only benefits males and won't vote for a party that supports the mutilation of children it won't be because of what Boris Johnson has said, it will be because what Keir Starmer has failed to say.

I have never voted Tory in my life but you can't blame Boris Johnson for the failure of Keir Starmer to address the safety and dignity of women and children.

That's batshit.

DrSbaitso · 07/04/2022 10:31

Being polite and reasonable doesn't make a difference, hasn't made a difference, so I will call people out for exactly what they are.

Well that's fine. You aren't outcomes-focused and never have been. Your goal isn't to try to bring people round to your way of thinking to improve the world, it's to puff up your self-image as the morally righteous one among the rabble. Insults and self-righteousness achieve that end just fine, so job's a good 'un. Well done you.

But why should I vote Labour?

ScribblingPixie · 07/04/2022 10:32

Didn't the lib dems make comments along the lines of 'don't vote for us if you don't believe transwomen are women'?

Baroness (Lynne) Featherstone at the Lib Dem conference. “I also have a message to those people who believe they can restrict trans women's rights, deny their human rights or exclude them from women-only spaces in the name of feminists. You are not feminists. Your views are not welcome in the Liberal Democrats.”

Rainbowshit · 07/04/2022 10:33

Why are people not getting that for a lot of people this is the biggest threat to women's rights we have seen? If we are not allowed to define ourselves as a sex class then we can't define our rights.

I'm terrified that one of these woke parties will get in and replace sex with gender in law. Once that has happened it will be impossible to get back our rights.

I'd rather suffer another Tory government for a few years than permanent destruction of mine and my daughter's rights.

It's a huge relief that at least one party is getting it.

Labour need to sort themselves out. It's their fault we can't vote for them, not ours. This is not an issue I'm prepared to let slide to performatively vote the "right" way in some peoples opinion.

Chewchewaboogie · 07/04/2022 10:35

Huge huge relief this has been said .
