I agree with Boris

trib.al/ov5g0nj I can’t stand the throes but agree with this

OP posts:
AnyCakeButBattenburg · 06/04/2022 22:02

He's absolutely correct

Blinkingbatshit · 06/04/2022 22:02

I find it slightly terrifying that he’s the only one who’s seemingly had the balls to say it! I think it shows the opposition up to be slippery cowards by comparison - and I really dislike Boris, but right now he’s got more respect from me.

Fairislefandango · 06/04/2022 22:03

I agree with him too. And I don't find it uncomfortable, because it's utterly childish to think that you have to either agree with someone on everything or nothing.

I can't stand the man, and was intending to spoil my ballot paper at the next election. I didn't think I could bring myself to vote Tory, but I'm beginning to wonder. What I actually hope is that this will spur Labour into reconsidering their position on this, and that I'll be able to vote for them (preferably under a different and less spineless leader).

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/04/2022 22:03

@Turningpurple so is voting Tory.

Iggly · 06/04/2022 22:04

@Wrongkindofovercoat

You don’t know that actually. Plenty of Labour politicians have been sensible on this but they don’t get prime interviews on Sky

@Iggly if you have any links to the leader of the Labour party saying the same as Boris on this particular issue, now would be a good time to share them ?

I didn’t say Kier has.

I said Kier needs to fuck off.

I’m reassured by other Labour politicians like Wes Streeting who said “Men have penises, women have vaginas, here ends my biology lesson”

So I know there are sensible Labour politicians and I don’t think they’ll be throwing away sex based rights.

Kier Starmer said “What I want to see is a reform of the law as it is, but I am also an advocate of safe spaces for women”

DarleneSnell · 06/04/2022 22:04

I agree with him. Say what you like, he's given the answer the rest won't, even though the nation thinks it.

Now he needs to ensure his MPs are as strong on this, as Sunak's recent flail on Talkradio was cringeworthy.

ClinkeyMonkey · 06/04/2022 22:05

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. He's a plonker. But he's ... well ... he's right, isn't he?

Helleofabore · 06/04/2022 22:06

I too agree with Boris!

Iggly · 06/04/2022 22:06

@ClinkeyMonkey

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. He's a plonker. But he's ... well ... he's right, isn't he?
He’s just saying what people want to hear.

Honestly, the fawning is embarrassing.

Blossomtoes · 06/04/2022 22:06

Now he needs to ensure his MPs are as strong on this,

Penny Mordaunt and Caroline Nokes aren’t for a start.

Blossomtoes · 06/04/2022 22:07

@Blossomtoes

Now he needs to ensure his MPs are as strong on this,

Penny Mordaunt and Caroline Nokes aren’t for a start.

So any of you who live in their constituencies are going to be buggered.
Wrongkindofovercoat · 06/04/2022 22:08

@Iggly and therein lies the problem, Kier is the leader of the Labour party, there might be lots of lovely, sensible and intelligent MP's under his leadership, but he really needs to nail his colours to the mast on this one. Rightly or wrongly people do look to the leader for the general tone of the party, although what that says about previous Conservative voters, I'm not sure Grin

NancyDrooo · 06/04/2022 22:09

@Historyherstory

Christ will I agree with BORIS JOHNSON for the first time in my life??????

How long has he got til the next election to do his U turn?

Last General Election was December 2019, so at least 18 months.
crimesagainstwine · 06/04/2022 22:09

@Iggly

He’s just saying what people want to hear.

So?

Why do you think they want to hear it?

RufustheFloralmissingreindeer · 06/04/2022 22:09

Honestly, the fawning is embarrassing

There isn’t any fawning… mainly just people saying that they agree with him (usually linked with things like ‘hate boris but he’s right on this one)

Turningpurple · 06/04/2022 22:09
@Turningpurple so is voting Tory.
I didn't say it wasn't. My posts throughout the thread have been clear. Neither are a good choice.

The quote you responded to was me say that a vote for Labour, is also against most of the groups listed in the 'vote for tories is a vote against' list.

A vote for either party screws a huge groups of people over.

DrSbaitso · 06/04/2022 22:11

He’s just saying what people want to hear.

No shit. But unlike the Opposition, he's worked out that they want to hear it. And why do you think they want to hear it?

Turningpurple · 06/04/2022 22:11

Kier Starmer said “What I want to see is a reform of the law as it is, but I am also an advocate of safe spaces for women”

But also that transwomen are women. So not safe spaces for women, because he won't define women without including transwomen.

HRTQueen · 06/04/2022 22:12

Well that’s two out of 359

Tories are good at pulling together as we shall see over the next few days

Labour should watch and learn

Zonder · 06/04/2022 22:13

I could weep that some people are actually going to vote Tory because Johnson has said this. We can't trust him. He hates women and treats them like shit. The whole government treat women like shit. If you vote Tory based on this article then you are voting against women.

HermioneKipper · 06/04/2022 22:13

Can’t stand the man but he is 100% right on this one.

I’ve actually never heard him speak so well on an issue before!

whatdoidonowffs · 06/04/2022 22:14

Rees-mogg was on LBC the other morning with a definite no to the question of can a woman have a penis
Didn’t even give a load of political waffle about it just straight no

HermioneKipper · 06/04/2022 22:15

He has scored a blinder on the compete open goal from the other parties.

How they can have let this happen is beyond me. And Angela Rayner’s ridiculous response … who will vote Labour based on this?

TheKeatingFive · 06/04/2022 22:16

If you vote Tory based on this article then you are voting against women.

This is claptrap because knowing what women are is a fundamental point that the Tories get and Labour seem not too.

Women don't want to vote themselves out of existence. Why's that so hard to understand?

ivykaty44 · 06/04/2022 22:17

@Iggly

Thank you *@PenStation*

I’ve been so dismayed at those leaping on Boris Johnson’s words, losing all sense of logical critical thinking.

but don't you think it will be a vote winner for many woman?
