trib.al/ov5g0nj I can’t stand the throes but agree with this

OP posts:
Sausageandeggs · 06/04/2022 21:42

I sort of feel a bit sorry for people who can’t get their head around the idea they may agree with someone they usually don’t agree with.

Anyway, thanks Boris. Vote secured.

Xtraincome · 06/04/2022 21:42

I agree with Boris completely.

But we must be careful and not be led by this one instance of him showing respect to women. Vote scamming is his thing, remember.

chaosrabbitland · 06/04/2022 21:42
@HRTQueen
You see, he hasn’t though. The trans debate is just another chapter in the so called “culture wars” which pits about 5% of adults on the fringe left - eg, “the woke brigade” - against 5% on the fringe right, eg the hard brexiters and food banks are wonderful lot.

The vast majority of the country meanwhile couldn’t give a toss about those issues. Which is why both Labour and the Tories try to avoid talking about them as much as possible - as there’s virtually zero political capital to be made from them except with the fringe 10% - but saying something daft will give opponents ammunition.

Anyway, the electorate - the sane/boring 90% at least, will vote on the economy, taxes, public services and housing - same as always. IE the boring shit that actually improves or destroys peoples lives. Not the culture wars bollocks.

Currently Labour are polling around 40% and the Tories 35%, which would probably translate to Labour most seats, but some ways off a majority.
well said pita , im concerned about the boring shit myself , the stuff that makes all our lives better , frankly i cant fathom anyone that wouldnt base their votes on those issues

Bettyboopawoop · 06/04/2022 21:43

Is there an election coming up soon by any chance?

PenStation · 06/04/2022 21:44

Why bother to pay attention to what that lying piece of wankstain says. Nothing that comes out of his mouth is said with sincerity.

Turningpurple · 06/04/2022 21:44

@Waxonwaxoff0

Anyone who votes Tory is saying a massive fuck you to the poorest in society.
Unfortunately that's the issue.

Vote torie you vice to screw over people who are disabled and/or poor.

Vote Labour and you vote to fuck over women. Including our daughters. Including gay women and Abused women and so on.

I hope a better option presents itself in the next few years.

Lockheart · 06/04/2022 21:44

@DomesticatedZombie women are usually the poorest in society...

DrSbaitso · 06/04/2022 21:45

I hope a better option presents itself in the next few years.

Maybe Lord Buckethead will form a party.

Iggly · 06/04/2022 21:45

@TheKeatingFive

I suspect he’s practiced and practised this line before trotting it out so he can say it clearly.

Shame Starmer didn't do the same

I know, it is a shame. And it’s a shame that people are lapping up Boris Johnson - have they forgotten who he is and wtf he’s like?

Also biological men have been given access to womens spaces under the current government…. Boris Johnson has done nothing to deal with this and has just said a few things about it on sky news and now people think he’s a feminist champion?? If he actually dealt with it then I’d believe him to genuinely care.

It’s a difficult subject to talk about and when you get side tracked by questions about penises then I can see why Kier stumbled because he’s also trying to be sympathetic to the trans community. He was talking about the legal position iirc. I don’t think he literally said women have cocks, which is what the daily mail would have you believe.

Sexnotgender · 06/04/2022 21:46

Me too.

Frankly I’m fucking livid that Labour are such a raging pile of shite on this and have made me agree with Boris and the bloody Tories. Arse.

Staffy1 · 06/04/2022 21:47

Vote torie you vice to screw over people who are disabled and/or poor

But does anything really change for them under a Labour government because I haven’t noticed much difference in anything between the two.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/04/2022 21:47

@DomesticatedZombie like women aren't already fucked under the current government? You think the Tories are treating women well currently?

Escarpahell · 06/04/2022 21:47

HRTFT but I hope that all of you who suddenly think Boris is a good egg would be happy to let him into a changing room with your teenage daughter.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/04/2022 21:48

@Turningpurple the Tories don't care about women. Only the wealthy ones.

PenStation · 06/04/2022 21:48

Exactly, he is a complete waste of time. My dog has more integrity and would make a better prime minister.

Labour haven’t been in power since 2010 Hmm

I'd vote for Lord Buckethead. He is, at least, consistent.
HRTQueen · 06/04/2022 21:50

For some people it might be the one issue they vote on

That’s not so much of a problem for Labour but what is it’s that it’s another issue the public can’t quite grasp where Labour stand on

Labour need to win a huge amount of votes being wishy-washy over a subject which the vast majority view as basic common sense is vote losing not vote winning

I can see the headlines come election time do you trust this man who doesn’t know what a woman is ?

Starmer has dug his grave for himself there is no way the Tories are going to ignore it and I wouldn’t expect them to and I’m glad that it’s being discussed by our most senior politicians we know they are point scoring but it’s too important to not be discussed openly at such a high level

Waxonwaxoff0 · 06/04/2022 21:51

There are currently single mums literally starving, unable to pay energy bills and people suddenly think Boris is some kind of feminist champion.

Iggly · 06/04/2022 21:51

Thank you @PenStation

I’ve been so dismayed at those leaping on Boris Johnson’s words, losing all sense of logical critical thinking.

CompassPoint · 06/04/2022 21:51

women are usually the poorest in society

Yes quite, and the women who are incarcerated in prisons are also often overlooked, despite being one of the most vulnerable and voiceless sectors of society.
Keeping prisons single sex is crucial, and protecting womens' sex based rights is vital to all women in all sectors of society.

I know and I think starmer needs to go now. Literally now. Fuck off and let a proper politician do this job.
Zonder · 06/04/2022 21:52

@PeskyRooks

OK yes I agree with him. But even a stopped clock tells the right time twice a day.
This. Honestly please don't take this article as a reason to vote for him. He is deadly dangerous.
Taffiy · 06/04/2022 21:53

What the public see, even those not interested in the Trans debate, is Starmer cringing his way through simple questions on this, tying himself in knots and refusing to say what we all know is true.
In contrast Boris comes out clear and concise for once stating facts that most people are in agreement with.
I do think it will impact on votes.
I can’t see the media leaving it alone, and Starmer will end up looking more and more like some bumbling crazy. And we’ll be stuck with this shower for years.

bellinisurge · 06/04/2022 21:53

Nobody thinks he's a feminist champion ffs. If he keeps self-ID off the statute books with this. And turns the tide on the de facto self ID we have now, that's good. Don't give a fuck if it's just political opportunism.
Labour had fair warning and keep fucking it up
