For me, Topshop. Was really gutted when it closed down. Restaurant: Herman ze German. Expensive but always enjoyed the food!

Woolworths was great when the kids were young, I loved it.
Woolco was great like a big hypermarket.

Rantypanties · 03/04/2022 22:36

The Pier! I loved all the trinkets in there but at the time was too young to appreciate the furniture they had in there. I wish it would come back!

JohannSebastianBach · 03/04/2022 22:37

Athena for the lovely posters and calendars

BordoisAgain · 03/04/2022 22:37

Debenhams

PurpleSproutingSomething · 03/04/2022 22:38

There was a restaurant place in Manchester called The Dutch Pancake House, I loved it.

BrioNotBiro · 03/04/2022 22:39

Coast - lovely party clothes.
Prescriptives make up.

greenbirdsong · 03/04/2022 22:39

I also miss Debenhams. The one in my town was such a huge space on the high street. I especially loved department stores like that at xmas with the lights and the tat.
Just seems a big empty space now and no idea what could fill it.

Glendaruel · 03/04/2022 22:40

Miss woolworths, it had everything

WTF475878237NC · 03/04/2022 22:41

I used to love the Dutch Pancake House on the corner!

Debenhams and Woolworths yep. Also C&A - for the fond memories of being treated to a new skirt by my lovely grandparents.

Comedycook · 03/04/2022 22:41

La senza

WTF475878237NC · 03/04/2022 22:42

And Blockbuster!

youngestisapsycho · 03/04/2022 22:42

I miss Woolworths. There was a restaurant in my town called Texas Lone Star… loved that place. It closed years ago and I still miss it 😢

OneTC · 03/04/2022 22:43

There is, to this day, a Woolies shaped hole on every high street

KaptainKaveman · 03/04/2022 22:43

Woolies
Chelsea Girl
Boules
Sock shop
The Pier

OwlinaTree · 03/04/2022 22:44

Dorothy Perkins before it went rubbish. Woolworths - love the pic n mix and the top ten!

OwlinaTree · 03/04/2022 22:45

You can get some Chelsea girl stuff in River Island.

OwlinaTree · 03/04/2022 22:46

What will be the next high Street casualty? I vote Marks and Spencers.

I think B&M and Wilko have filled the gap nicely
Crunched · 03/04/2022 22:47

Just Duck in the podium in Bath. Crispy aromatic duck is my death row meal and a restaurant that served nothing else was perfect.
I miss Wollies and my local House of Fraser.

narcdad · 03/04/2022 22:47

Dolces - I used to love going and trying on the shoes, could never really afford them though and usually ended up with Freeman Hardy Willis

SparklyLeprechaun · 03/04/2022 22:48

Debenhams. House of Fraser as well. Topshop, on the other hand, I didn't even notice it closed down.

MrsGHarrison87 · 03/04/2022 22:49

MK One. The jeans were very generously sized.

lollipoprainbow · 03/04/2022 22:49

What will be the next high Street casualty?

Boots, smiths

travailtotravel · 03/04/2022 22:50

You can get C&A in Europe. I loved The Pier!

TerribleCustomerCervix · 03/04/2022 22:50

I still can’t believe Topshop is gone- such a huge part of my teens and early twenties.

House of Fraser- I know it’s technically still around, but it’s just not the same now.
