Boris Johnson ‘fat shaming’.

I’ve heard a couple of times Boris Johnson comment on Ian Blackford’s weight.

How is this okay?

You wouldn’t comment to a colleague about them “eating all the pies” so why is it okay for Boris to?

In front of so many people too…I know some will say it’s “banter” but I’m sure that’s been an excuse for a lot ot negative comments about people on the past.

Am I being over sensitive to think our PM shouldn’t be making such comments?

@Cornettoninja

It’s seems odd that someone would see a thread about Boris Johnson and be moved to comment on his policies? Boris Johnson the well known politician? Boris Johnson the prime minister? That Boris Johnson?

An unfathomable mystery indeed.

It is quite hard to defend Johnson's policies which are essentially, keep Boris in power, enrich mates by any means possible to ensure Boris stays in power. Party and have cheese and wine while everyone else takes lockdown seriously. Spaff other peoples money on enriching your mates and keep Boris in power.

Which I suppose is why his defenders so want to discuss whether or not Blackford is fat.

@Cornettoninja

I will never understand your thought process.
Nor will I but that delights me. I’d be really worried about myself if I could.

I don't think personal "jokes" or sneering or bullying jibes about people's bodies have any place in parliament. I don't see how it can be argued to further debate and it just adds to the not in touch and arrogant atmosphere that alienates so many from politics. You can always argue there are more important things but it's puerile and pathetic stuff and pretty unseemly for a prime minister to be acting in this way. I do wonder if the jeering and bullying vibe is part of his image. In which case - who on earth is it attracting and why do people want this in their politicians?

He's not half as embarrassing as Starmer and his total lack of knowledge of female anatomy.It is unbelievable that the leader of a once powerful party should display such ignorance of basic biology and the consequences for women of policies based on it

Is there any topic that the obsessives won't drag trans issues into? Manifestly Starmer is perfectly familiar with female anatomy; he has a track record as DPP as being probably the most effective ever in promoting protection of female (and indeed male) victims of sexual assault, rape, abuse, trafficking and the like.. Whereas the only reason Johnson has any familiarity with female anatomy is that he views it as being there purely to sate his personal appetites.

If you think Boris gives a shit about female safe spaces then think again.

Kier starker is at least trying to walk the line between being sensitive to the trans community and protection female spaces.

Boris just doesn’t give a shit about the trans community and I strongly suspect would just call them men in dresses.

But they are world leading appetites and so he should be applauded for them.

Kier Starmer is so worried about making sure he doesn't offend anyone that he's not doing anything to benefit anyone.
