Are there any woman in the public eye who look younger than their years?

It comes up quite regularly on MN, where people comment that really nobody of say 40+ looks much younger than their actual age.

But plenty of other women do say they genuinely get taken for younger. So it's obviously quite individual.

Are there any women in the public eye who do look younger, do you think?

I find this fascinating as I am truly shit at guessing anybody's age! Which I suspect could be something to do with being neurodivergent - I just don't 'see' the small giveaways.

@Lovinglife45 I had no idea she had MS (Googled after I read your comment). I loved her in the noughties, then didn’t see her in anything until the OJ American Crime Story. I wondered what had happened to her.

Someone in the public eye, through unfortunate circumstances, and definitely not a celebrity is the mum of the Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman.

I remember when I first saw her picture when the case emerged and thinking that that must’ve been their sister and not their mum.

She looks incredible for 65. She is radiant and I would guess that’s au naturel.

I'm sure she has had 'work'. You'd struggle to find a woman in Hollywood who hasn't. But comparing photos taken a quarter of a century apart seems silly to me. It would be pretty strange if she didn't look different.

@KhansMambo - I’ve always felt that Halle had work done.
I remember seeing her in person in her beauty contest years and it could have been a bit of youthful chubbiness but I doubt it. She looks a lot more chiselled.

Anyhow, she’s always been beautiful and whatever she’s done hasn’t made her look plastic.

Halle Berry has clearly had her nose done. I would say a blepharoplasty too to give her a more wide-eyed look. Beyond that, seeing as she's now in her 50s maybe some kind of lower facelift to tighten her jaw. You never see a middle aged Hollywood sex symbol with a soft jawline.

In the early days of EastEnders, I thought she looked older than her actual age.
IMO Penelope Cruz and Salma Hayek both look beautiful and “young for their years”, but without any really obvious plastic surgery.

Just checked - and Gillian Taylforth is 13 years older than her screen son, Adam Woodyatt.

Nobody queried this when EE started, as she looked old enough to be his mother.

Agree that she’s gorgeous and not at all fake looking, but can see the difference in noses now that it’s pointed out.

Honestly, I think most older women in the public eye look younger than their actual age. And I think they probably have to put in a lot of effort to do so.

I'd say a lot of them look about 5 years younger than they are. It just gets silly when people start fawning that omg JLo looks 25 when she clearly does not, she looks like a very attractive, probably 40something woman, or wow Paul Rudd and Keanu Reeves are vampires who don't age, I don't understand who they're looking at a picture of...

A lot of the reason people look younger than they are is because they have youthful baby faces to begin with.

But Bianca Lawson. Bianca Lawson genuinely looks younger than she did in the 90s.

Believe me all celebs get tweaks as they are mostly vain or worried about not getting work (understandably). If they've had bad work done you can tell but a good practitioner will make it look natural ;))

I know OP's question focused on women but applying the question to men I'd say I find it hard to believe the age of Jared Leto and Pharell Williams.

Completely disagree. So much work that she could be any age from 45 - 65.

@MasterBeth I agree - I think when someone’s passed the point of no return with plastic surgery they look ‘ageless’ and not in a good way. So I just assume they must be pretty old otherwise they wouldn’t have bothered.

And as they look so unlike themselves and so unnatural I often think you can’t really decide if they look good or not - they just look like someone who has had a lot of surgery.

I still think a lot depends on how we perceive age to look.

I don't look early 40s.

Except, I do. And compared to my early 40s friends, I still do. But in my head early 40s is what my mum looked like to me in my teens. Therefore early 40s should look frumpy and wear gardening clothes, so when they don't they look younger than their age.
