Are there any woman in the public eye who look younger than their years?

It comes up quite regularly on MN, where people comment that really nobody of say 40+ looks much younger than their actual age.

But plenty of other women do say they genuinely get taken for younger. So it's obviously quite individual.

Are there any women in the public eye who do look younger, do you think?

I find this fascinating as I am truly shit at guessing anybody's age! Which I suspect could be something to do with being neurodivergent - I just don't 'see' the small giveaways.

KT Tunstall is 46 and looks about 30.

All could pass for early twenties if not younger. I have a colleague who is 38 but genuinely looks 18/19. It does happen. Even if MN tells you it's impossible.

It's about celebrities who look years younger than their age. All of the above do

Floella looks gorgeous, ageless. She also still has the kindest face, loved her as a child and even now she just represents calm and cosiness. Most famous people have had a lot of work done and it’s tricky to see if they are genuinely very youthful. I also think our perception of age and ageing has changed. A generation ago 40s was old. It was a very different look and life to how being in 40 is now.

Pretty much every Black celeb.

• Thandie Newton is 50 this year.
• Gabrielle Union is also 50 this year.
• Naomi is 51.
• Halle Berry is 55.
• Tessa Thompson has been playing teenagers for over 20 years.

And so on. Admittedly, these women all won the genetic lottery and looked better than 99.9% of humanity, to begin with. But they still look utterly spectacular.

I was surprised when I found out how old Marisa Tomei is (who plays Aunt May in Spider-Man). I thought she was younger.

Also I was surprised that some of the Derry Girls actresses were in their 30s. I assumed early 20s!

Floella Benjamin is 80, no way!!! I adored her when I was a young child, just wanted to her.

I would say Amanda Holden, Elizabeth Hurley and Jlo look amazing for their age as opposed to looking a decade younger. AH has had a lot of work done; botox, teeth and whatever else. I am sure EH has had a breast reshape as JLo has. They have kept their figures but being slim and trim does not always equate to being youthful.

I think a lot of times in magazines the article confuses people who look younger and who are just very good looking. Like Jennifer Aniston, I'm not sure she looks much younger than she is. She's just very good looking. Same with Helen mirren.

I think Vera Wang, Cecile Tyson, alexis bledel, Gabrielle Union, gwen Stefani and rita moreno look younger than their age

Slightly off topic but I love Floella Benjamin, she sent a tweet of support to Clive Myrie when he was reporting from Ukraine. She calls us all (including Clive) her playschool babies

As has been said, everyone looks their age within 8-9 years tops! (When you look properly.) I also agree with a pp who said, strip off the make up, hair extensions, filters, botox, and collagen, and these 'stars' look just like us plebs! Ordinary, slightly average, and above all - they look their AGE.

Even Tina O'Brien. She is gorgeous, and looks younger than her age, but she doesn't look bloody 16! Very late 20s maybe - so 8-9 years younger. Same with all the others some people have been marvelling over on here. They look their age, within 8 years or so, when you look close.

Gabrielle Union - again gorgeous, and looks younger, but not half her bloody age! Around late 30s she looks. So 8-9 years younger than her age.

Floella Benjamin - gorgeous, and doesn't look 72, but she does look in her 60s. She doesn't look bloody 39!

Why is it such a bloody SIN to look your age FFS? What's wrong with it? Why would you NOT want to look your age?

Also, why would you not LOOK your age? If you are in your late 40s, you will generally look it, or pretty close to it. The utter denial, and insistence some people look a generation younger (from some posters,) is bizarre and disturbing.

She has had FUCKTONS of plastic surgery. She just looks like a woman in her 70s who has had fucktons of plastic surgery!

I HATE this type of thread! It just drives the stupid idea that women must - absolutely MUST - never EVER get old! And never ever look it!!!

I think most women on TV look younger than their actual age- but do they look younger than their age when there is no makeup and special lighting? I'm not so sure...
