Interested to hear some opinions. What do you think of her? I was just reading a Dailymail article where she and William are in Belize and people are complaining about them flaunting their lives and all that. People struggling and Ukraine on fire, etc and Kate and William are rubbing it in people's faces. What do you think? Yes, they definitely have it better than a lot of people but in one sense I also feel that she has to thread on eggshells being in the public eye so much. Say one thing she'll be crucified but if she says something else it will be the same, she can't win regardless of what she says or do. If she acknowledges and openly says that she's got it easy with her luxury lifestyle people will scream down her neck about that too. What do you think? What's your view on Kate?

@MurmuratingStarling ? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t want her to be unhappy, why would I?!
I’m saying I think she appears unhappy, I hope she isn’t and she’s probably not, just the vibe I get…ok?

Blossomtoes · 22/03/2022 23:01

@Comedycook

I always quite liked her but I will say she massively went up in my estimation when she visited Clapham common after the murder of Sarah Everard.
Me too. So quiet and discreet too.
VanCleefArpels · 22/03/2022 23:04

I think she’s really grown in confidence through the pandemic as they have been seen and heard so much more through the zoom calls etc. It is in some respects an unenviable life and I think they’ve both decided to make the most of it (when I suspect they were both a bit jealous of Harry being able to walk away). It’s noticeable they have been more political (small p) in their actions and speeches etc. this is a good thing, makes them less aloof. And I think they are very much in love, you can’t fake the looks they give each other

entropynow · 22/03/2022 23:09

I don't. Don't know her or her family, unable to make a sensible comment based on anything real. Rinse and repeat for all "celebrities".

JenniferBarkley · 22/03/2022 23:10

I remember reading a post on here years ago about their wedding day - the poster had noticed a moment on the carriage ride back to BP when they went under an arch and briefly disappeared from view of the cameras. As they re-emerged they quickly let go of each others hands. That poster backed it up with video footage which I'm far too lazy to do, but they were right. They had clearly decided their rules for being on duty in public would include no hand holding etc and followed it even on their wedding day.

So I think she's very shrewd in the way she presents herself and I admire that, although i don't think it's admirable to be a woman without opinions in this day and age.

I also think the notion of monarchy is ridiculous and her job shouldn't exist.

Blinky21 · 22/03/2022 23:25

I think she's a terrible role model for girls, she has never had a career, left uni and didn't work, instead choosing to wait around to be proposed to. She's also unnaturally thin. She has allowed whatever personality she may have had to be subsumed by her husband's family and has overlooked her husband's affair. I would hate my daughter to look up to her over a strong woman who has achieved on her own merit and hard work. And whatever people say, what the RF do is not work, not compared to most people

Eesha · 22/03/2022 23:28

I always found it interesting that she had literally no past before William ie no boyfriends etc. Any she had must be sworn to secrecy!

DillDanding · 22/03/2022 23:29

I think Kate’s a nice, smiley clothes horse. Which is all that’s required of her.

MurmuratingStarling · 22/03/2022 23:30

You must have been munching on a lot of lemons to be THAT bitter. 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋 🍋🍋🍋🍋🍋
StoneofDestiny · 22/03/2022 23:31

She is what they want her to be - a bland, inoffensive, well groomed clothes horse. She has never worked or had to manage a budget and is a shocking example of womanhood in 2022.
Just arm candy for her unemployed husband.

Lunasmum1 · 22/03/2022 23:31

Can't stand her, particularly that gormless grinning face she always does with her hands up, makes me cringe..the Royal family are just good actors and simply fake. Also bugs me that people go on about her being a commoner/ 'just a normal girl' -she's from the goldsmith family ffs 🙄 give me strength

MurmuratingStarling · 22/03/2022 23:32

@YellowAndGreenToBeSeen

Royal Family PR out Kite Flying tonight?!
Don't know, but the Kate hate bandwagon is on here tonight. There's some vile jealousy on here tonight. Quite sad to see. Must be some rather unhappy people on here tonight.
Nanalisa60 · 22/03/2022 23:33

I think she is lovely!!

SunscreenCentral · 22/03/2022 23:36

Well, we both like tennis so I suppose we could chat a bit about that if push came to shove and I was stuck in a elevator with her

HRTQueen · 22/03/2022 23:40

She always looks nice (not always keen on her clothes) and neat has lovely hair and is nice looking.

Apart from that nothing much. She is bland and lazy

I would like to be able to say something more interesting about the future Queen but there isn’t much to say about her

BarrowInFurnessRailwayStation · 22/03/2022 23:42

I think she's bloody marvellous.

VanCleefArpels · 22/03/2022 23:42

@Lunasmum1 she’s not a Goldsmith, where did you get that notion from ??

Notcreativeatall · 22/03/2022 23:46

No idea what she is like as a person.
she seems to have worked out what she wanted in life and achieved it and is prepared to do what it takes to maintain it(being bland turning a blind eye etc)- but other than that...i do agree with *blinky21" though- she's not a (great) role model why couldn't she aspire to do something herself rather than just someone's wife.
I would get rid of the whole royal family in a nanosecond in any case

RobertSmithsLipstick · 22/03/2022 23:48

I feel totally indifferent to her.
She is nothing special, not noteworthy at all.

BonjourCrisette · 22/03/2022 23:50

I have no idea what the point of her is. She isn't interesting. She never says anything I'd be interested in. She is just a royal person doing royal stuff. Boring. Would really like this shit to end.

Monty27 · 22/03/2022 23:51

OP why does it matter. She has a global role as a representative of this that and the other due to marrying William future king.
Why do you even care about their popularity campaigns.
I certainly don't.

DiamondCushion · 22/03/2022 23:52

I used to be pro monarchy, not any more.
I don’t like the “we are not allowed to hold hands” rubbish. And it’s such a huge deal when they started touching each other’s backs.
I hate the coat dress uniform, the previously not being allowed to wear trousers etc. So patriarchical

fogglez · 22/03/2022 23:53

Not like the other miserable mardy non-princess married to the non-prince.

I actually think H&M were an asset to the RF & made it seem far more current & modern.

Monty27 · 22/03/2022 23:55

It's L.K. Bennett with the English Rose
