To ask what you think of Kate Middleton?

Interested to hear some opinions. What do you think of her? I was just reading a Dailymail article where she and William are in Belize and people are complaining about them flaunting their lives and all that. People struggling and Ukraine on fire, etc and Kate and William are rubbing it in people's faces. What do you think? Yes, they definitely have it better than a lot of people but in one sense I also feel that she has to thread on eggshells being in the public eye so much. Say one thing she'll be crucified but if she says something else it will be the same, she can't win regardless of what she says or do. If she acknowledges and openly says that she's got it easy with her luxury lifestyle people will scream down her neck about that too. What do you think? What's your view on Kate?

She doesn’t call herself Middleton so why are you?

She presents herself as completely bland but underneath that is a steely person who holds absolutely fast to what she wants.

I think she’s very beautiful but totally dull. She’d be so much more interesting to know a bit more about her, or to know that she’d put a perfect foot wrong on occasion.

It’s also very odd to see her and William next to normal people, they look so tall and slim in comparison.

Why single one person out of the whole royal family?

I love the Queen and I like having a monarchy. I don't want President Johnson or President Blair.

I can't say that I liked her too much when she was younger but I don't know why. She never did anything wrong. But after those naked pictures were everywhere and she handled it with such dignity, she won me over. I don't think she ever puts a step wrong. And honestly, Prince Harry's petulance has shown her in an even better light.
I don't think she works that much but she has a job that's just going to get busier as she gets older so I don't mind her enjoying her life now.
I think for everyone social media is going to make things harder. A very vocal minority can skew people's opinions and we're in danger of doing away with all sorts of institutions on a whim without intelligent thought of what will replace them and whether they will actually work out for the better.

I think she's a complete mug, given the amount of affairs her husband has had, that are constantly hidden by the UK press.

That aside, no other opinion.

I feel sorry for her for this, if it's true. It could easily be true, Kate was an obvious choice as a suitable princess after all. She has been trained to be one since birth. But that doesn't mean he will be faithful. And it's been gossiped about that he has cheated. Feel bad for her, that being publicised that your husband is not loyal.

She seems nice and inoffensive. Sporty and groomed. I can imagine her playing at being an ordinary middle class mum by cooking for her family at the weekend. Gives Mrs.Patmore the day off.

But the whole royal family thing is just so outdated and the current Caribbean tour has really highlighted that,

I think she's alright. I mean, its been a while since she punched a child in the face or shoved a granny into a pond, so she's gone up in my estimation.

She is attractive but a bit bland. I suppose that blandness is what is required to be a successful royal wife.
I do feel that she is tougher than we think.

Pretty hard to criticise her given all the circumstances surrounding her life.

I think she’s a very motivated, self disciplined , hardworking person. You’d have to be to be where she is. I’m not sure she’s that naturally confident. I thought the reading she did on the bedtime hour seemed awkward somehow.

Pretty, shiny, bouncy hair. Like a beautifully turned out show pony.

I don't care for any of them. I used to able to justify the royals existence but my opinion of them has been in freefall for a while now. Even ol' Lizzie.

I think she and William are very bland which I'm guessing is just what they need to be to do their very silly job. I'm aware that they're not being welcomed with open arms by everyone on their Caribbean tour because empire and colonialism and I get that. The monarchy is an outdated institution and we'd all be better off if we binned it once the queen has shuffled off this mortal coil.

But I do think it seems very outdated, this tour, and also why are people meant to be pleased or interested when most peoples lives are pretty tough right now.

Anyone who makes anything look easy is usually just very good at it.

I hope she has real life friends that she can let her hair down a bit with.

Her title is Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge. She has been that for well over a decade. @Teadrinker11 Do you have trouble with reality?

I think she is lovely, very dignified and classy.
I agree with a previous poster about streamlining the Royal Family, why Beatrice and Eugénie are held in such esteem by some
I have no idea, never mind any of the other cousins.

I think she seems confident, mature and hardworking. I like her.

No real opinion on Kate. Bland as pp have said. Whole shebang needs to slowly dwindle now though. They've had their fun.

Lazy, bland sponger who's never worked a day in her life. IMHO.

They are not swanning around on holiday, it's an official tour and pretty sure it will be incredibly hard work, meeting all these people, official functions, speeches etc. It won't exactly be a picnic!!
