Interested to hear some opinions. What do you think of her? I was just reading a Dailymail article where she and William are in Belize and people are complaining about them flaunting their lives and all that. People struggling and Ukraine on fire, etc and Kate and William are rubbing it in people's faces. What do you think? Yes, they definitely have it better than a lot of people but in one sense I also feel that she has to thread on eggshells being in the public eye so much. Say one thing she'll be crucified but if she says something else it will be the same, she can't win regardless of what she says or do. If she acknowledges and openly says that she's got it easy with her luxury lifestyle people will scream down her neck about that too. What do you think? What's your view on Kate?

Not being British I feel a tiny bit bad …(but not really).. the royal family is ridiculous and offensive to me (for historical reasons), so anyone buying into that “job or “role” by choice automatically puts me off.
Other than that, despite the smile and the outfits and the engaging with people in a human fashion.. She looks sad, worn out and hardened by diet and smoking, but well groomed, elegant (absolutely hate her clothes but I guess it’s not her choice), a genuinely kind person and suffering because her husband is more boring than a night in with just the bbc for company (and of course the affair rumours).
Bet she’d be very fun if she got drunk though

Jasmine5552 · 22/03/2022 22:27

I have never met her personally so I don't know.

reesewithoutaspoon · 22/03/2022 22:28

Only met her once when she came to a children's hospital. She did her duty and was genuinely engaging with the children.
As an institution though, the monarchy need to go when the Queen does. it's outdated and I don't get the fawning over people with titles. They are people like anyone else. I would never curtsy or bow and scrape to anyone just because of the vagina they popped out of nor would I go out of my way to be in a parade waving a flag for them.
I have no interest in their lives or funding their privilege

blueberryporridge · 22/03/2022 22:31

I'm sick of her acting like some early years expert when she allows her son to take part in blood sports.

This.

And I also hate hearing about all the "charity" work the Royals do, when the very existence of a Royal family illustrates the social injustice in the UK. They are self-preserving symbols of a society where most of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of a very small minority. Perhaps with a bit more redistribution of wealth and privilege and a bit less fawning by the public over the latest generation of a family which has moneygrabbed and subjugated for centuries, there would be much less need for their charities.

She seems to be good at her job, but her job should not exist.

Fawning ✔️ Bowing and scraping ✔️ Popped out of right vagina (which she didn’t) ✔️

You missed cap doffing and forelock tugging for the whole bingo card.

BonjourCrisette · 22/03/2022 22:33

I hate the entire royal family including her. They are all horrible people. I can't imagine the self-centredness that would lead you to believe being a king or queen or marrying into the family would be a good thing. Really hope it is possible to get rid of all of them in my lifetime.

HomecomingKween · 22/03/2022 22:34

No idea about William's alleged infidelities but surely when you're marrying into this kind of institution someone takes you aside and gives you the lowdown on what to expect i.e. you will be expected to produce at least two kids, don't make a fuss if your husband strays etc. etc.

Has there ever been high ranking male royal who hasn't had a mistress or 5? I know William dresses like Mr Suburbia, an ordinary guy who earns an 80K salary and buys his clothes in John Lewis, but he's been brought up to be king, that's going to effect a guy's ego.

Justleaveitblankthen · 22/03/2022 22:35

@Theluggage15

She doesn’t call herself Middleton so why are you?
And neither is she 'Kate' either now. William is always very politely and painstakingly correcting her name to Catherine. Really like them both.
PutinSmellsPassItOn · 22/03/2022 22:36

My interest in the Royal family will die when the Queen does. She's as pointless as the rest of them. Id admire her a little if she did a Harry and pulled her family out of it.

But she's set her future as chief ribbon cutter and small talk maker extraordinaire. So won't.

GirlsTalk250 · 22/03/2022 22:39

I think she’s doing a fantastic job and we’re lucky to have her.

spacehardware · 22/03/2022 22:42

It's not a job, though, is it?

MurmuratingStarling · 22/03/2022 22:44

I absolutely love her, and think she will make a brilliant Queen. William chose well, and I love him too. She is gorgeous and stylish too. They make a lovely couple. Smile

BorderlineHappy · 22/03/2022 22:45

I'm not British but she comes across as very bland, boring.
But there's something about her I can't take to.
She's a bit "to good to be true"

Escarpahell · 22/03/2022 22:45

It's a real shame that she's not made the most of her (very) privileged position to adopt a genuine interest in a project that needs royal patronage, rather than being a bland clothes horse. Diana, for all her (many) faults, drew enormous attention to AIDS, landmines, child poverty. Kate has the power to turn the media spotlight onto anything that matters to her. The fact that she hasn't tells me she's not interested in anything other than being William's wife and a mother. Not exactly a challenging career choice.

Hawkins001 · 22/03/2022 22:45

All I can say is I'm pro-monarchy, as to Kate herself, I would need to do more research before I can offer a robust analysis.

Well, it’s not a hobby.
Greatexpectations77 · 22/03/2022 22:48

I think she seems unhappy.

NellGwynne · 22/03/2022 22:50

@Crabjuice

I think she's a complete mug, given the amount of affairs her husband has had, that are constantly hidden by the UK press.

That aside, no other opinion.

Obviously you know something no one else does? If you can’t get her name right though,I doubt you know as much as you think you do.
augustusglupe · 22/03/2022 22:50

I love her.
The article you mention from the Daily Mail sounds damn right nasty. No surprise there, she can't win.
I like both her & William, a vast improvement on the other two.

MurmuratingStarling · 22/03/2022 22:51

@Greatexpectations77

I think she seems unhappy.
Doesn't matter what you think. Doesn't make it true. She isn't going to be unhappy because you want her to be.
Fernandina · 22/03/2022 22:51

I don't think about her at all. I am not going to waste my time or any headspace thinking about her. Especially not if it involves anything written in that godawful rag the Daily Mail.

MurmuratingStarling · 22/03/2022 22:53

I know right. I had such high hopes for Meghan and Harry. They seemed lovely together, until it all went to shit, and they turned into ... well let's save that for another time. We all know what happened there.
YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 22/03/2022 22:57

Royal Family PR out Kite Flying tonight?!

Comedycook · 22/03/2022 22:57

I always quite liked her but I will say she massively went up in my estimation when she visited Clapham common after the murder of Sarah Everard.
