To ask what you think of Kate Middleton?

Interested to hear some opinions. What do you think of her? I was just reading a Dailymail article where she and William are in Belize and people are complaining about them flaunting their lives and all that. People struggling and Ukraine on fire, etc and Kate and William are rubbing it in people's faces. What do you think? Yes, they definitely have it better than a lot of people but in one sense I also feel that she has to thread on eggshells being in the public eye so much. Say one thing she'll be crucified but if she says something else it will be the same, she can't win regardless of what she says or do. If she acknowledges and openly says that she's got it easy with her luxury lifestyle people will scream down her neck about that too. What do you think? What's your view on Kate?

I think she's very bland and has been perfectly groomed to be a top notch royal wife.

I also think that if the royal family were abolished when the Queen dies she'd be the most pissed off about it (with the possible exception of Andrew). Charles and Camilla really don't seem that into it, William has a barely disguised loathing of the whole circus. But Kate has always come across like she really REALLY wants the whole shebang (and who can really blame her, she's given up a chance of a 'normal' life for herself and her children, it'd be pretty fucking annoying if it was all for nothing)

BorderlineHappy · 22/03/2022 21:44

How many alleged affairs has William had.

TheKeatingFive · 22/03/2022 21:45

I hope that at some point in her life she gets to slug in front of Netflix with a bargain bucket and a pint.

She could do that most nights if so inclined. They aren't exactly killed with engagements.

Zotter · 22/03/2022 21:45

I have no opinion one way or the other as I've never met her. I do think though the U.K. monarchy should be abolished. It is a ridiculous concept when you consider it.

Fairyarmpits · 22/03/2022 21:46

@Crabjuice

I think she's a complete mug, given the amount of affairs her husband has had, that are constantly hidden by the UK press.

That aside, no other opinion.

What?!

You think the UK press would hide that?

Are we suddenly living in a parallel universe?!

Comedycook · 22/03/2022 21:47

The royal family are very lucky to have her. She doesn't put a foot wrong

KnowingMeKnowingYouAhaaaa · 22/03/2022 21:47

You mean what do you think of the public persona of Kate middleton? Constantly laughing with that grin painted on, well that clearly isn't her is it. I mean some of the shite they have her doing, inside she must be thinking "fuck me what times the car coming to get us, I bored stiff". I don't get the point in them if I'm honest, they were dicking about dancing the other day, meanwhile there's a war ongoing and half the country are struggling just to eat and heat their houses. They are so tone deaf. I honestly don't get the obsession.

People seem to think she's some sort of god and constantly describe her as "perfect" whilst in the next breath slagging off meghan markel. I honestly can't blame meghan for not wanting any part in the circus. Again no one knows what's she's really like either, yet everyone puts her down whilst comparing her to perfect Kate.

I don't think we should continue to fund these people, the whole idea of bowing to someone just because they are born or married into a family is outdated.

JenniferAlisonPhilipaSue · 22/03/2022 21:47

I really like her.

MangosteenSoda · 22/03/2022 21:47

I think she looks better than ever at the moment. More vibrant clothes and relaxed, glowing and comfortable in herself.

She does a good job of what is a very weird job to have. Olympic standard at walking in heels and looking interested in all kinds of random shit.

I’m a republican (not the American sort!) so don’t like the role, but can acknowledge it is being done well.

Fairyarmpits · 22/03/2022 21:47

@lollipoprainbow

I find them both very dull. I really miss Harry and Meghan, I was always interested to see what she would wear to events etc.
You miss Harry and Meghan whining?
jajadingdongg · 22/03/2022 21:48

She seems like a nice person and works hard for the charities she patrons. A friend of mine works at one of her charities and she genuinely gives a lot of time.
Can’t comment on her personality as I don’t know her.

Shmithecat2 · 22/03/2022 21:48

@CornishGem1975

Love her. Holds herself with poise and dignity. Doesn't put a step wrong. Reads the room and knows the assignment. Perfect choice.
This. I think she's fab.
FrancescaContini · 22/03/2022 21:51

Nothing whatsoever although in general the sight of royals descending from planes waving at the locals or wearing “native garb” and gracing poorer countries with their presence makes my skin crawl.

TheKeatingFive · 22/03/2022 21:51

You think the UK press would hide that?

Ever heard of injunctions?

lollipoprainbow · 22/03/2022 21:51

@Fairyarmpits at least they're not boring

fogglez · 22/03/2022 21:52

It's interesting as the public appetite has changed somewhat, normally the DM comments are fawning.

I think the whole concept of the RM family is very outdated. Kate seems perfectly nice but I don't know anything about her, she doesn't really have a voice or an opinion which is sad in 2022!

ChardonnaysPetDragon · 22/03/2022 21:54

She's doing her job.

Loved that jacket today.

fogglez · 22/03/2022 21:54

Looking at the comments why does the role demand she dulls herself down, is bland, doesn't rock the boat etc. It's regressive!

HermioneWeasley · 22/03/2022 21:54

I think she and her husband are completely lazy

I think she had the most expensive education money can buy and has done nothing with her life except wait for a rich man to propose

I think she wears clothes with too many buttons

ItsDisneyBitch · 22/03/2022 21:55

Movingonup22

I think she is exceptional in her role.

I very much don’t think her role should exist. But if it has to I think she will do an excellent job and will not actively cause harm and will probably do a bit of good.

I agree with this.

Her clothes are stunning that outfit she wore to the James Bond premiere is my favourite ever.

Agree with this comment - don't like the role (and would hate to do it!) but I think she does it perfectly.

I've been cheated on, and I feel for anyone who's married to someone who's already had affairs and who probably will do so again.

For anyone questioning this: I've heard details from 2 different sources, one who worked for them and went to their apartment in KP regularly, and one who knows them socially. He has definitely cheated on her, and he's done it more than once. Somehow that seems even more despicable given what his mother went through.

I admire KM for holding her head up and continuing to do her job. I couldn't.

LadyLolaRuben · 22/03/2022 21:56

Do a Google search, its there.

LadyLolaRuben · 22/03/2022 21:57

Sorry it didn't tag. Do a Google search for William's alleged affair

tillytoodles1 · 22/03/2022 21:57

She's OK. Plays the part well and seems very smiley.
