Interested to hear some opinions. What do you think of her? I was just reading a Dailymail article where she and William are in Belize and people are complaining about them flaunting their lives and all that. People struggling and Ukraine on fire, etc and Kate and William are rubbing it in people's faces. What do you think? Yes, they definitely have it better than a lot of people but in one sense I also feel that she has to thread on eggshells being in the public eye so much. Say one thing she'll be crucified but if she says something else it will be the same, she can't win regardless of what she says or do. If she acknowledges and openly says that she's got it easy with her luxury lifestyle people will scream down her neck about that too. What do you think? What's your view on Kate?

I like her.

CounsellorTroi · 24/03/2022 09:49

She's 5'9. Hardly a giant.

But way above average.

ArtVandalay · 24/03/2022 09:52

Especially for a woman who has had three children and is 40. It's not healthy.

I would argue the opposite is true and that she is extremely healthy.

She doesn't look gaunt, she doesn't look bony. She is in the best shape.

Spudina · 24/03/2022 09:54

It’s interesting the way the press about her has changed. Prior to Meghan coming along it was being reported lots that the Queen thought she was lazy and called her Duchess Do Little. Then Meghan arrived. Now it’s all stories about what a wonderful mother, loving and devoted wife and tireless public servant she is. Almost like the press have an agenda....

@JackieWeaver101

Kate graduated in 2005.

In November 2006, she started working at Jigsaw as a part-time assistant buyer and that lasted about a year.

Someone with only A levels or GCSEs could have done that. Not much use of her degree.
spacehardware · 24/03/2022 10:07

She's very very very slim. Her BMI is probably in the healthy range, but only just. She's my height but the same dress size as my 11 year old daughter (who is 5 foot 3)

That's entirely her business of course but suggesting she's not an outlier in terms of body shape is just not true

DoraSpenlow · 24/03/2022 10:09

Of the 30 or so people I know who have got a degree only one actually does a job which bears any relation to their degree.

One does the job I had 30 years ago (my actual job) and I only had one 'O'level.

TheKeatingFive · 24/03/2022 10:11

There's nothing wrong with being a buyer. It's a highly competitive job and most would be degree educated.

It's more the fact that she did it part time for less than a year.

To be fair her degree is in Art History, it’s pretty difficult to use that in most jobs….

SucculentChalice · 24/03/2022 12:29

She's most likely a size 6. She is very very thin. Especially for a woman who has had three children and is 40. It's not healthy.

She looks to be a normal, athletic weight and her arms look to be strong which isn't a sign of muscle wastage generally associated with an unhealthily low weight.

She’s very tall. If she maintains her current weight into her 50s and beyond she will start to look gaunt.

Because the average person bigger than her looks so good over 50? Perhaps women shouldn't be judged so much on their looks but how healthy they are? Far less stress on your joints to be lean and fit.

Myee · 24/03/2022 12:56

She would be so popular if she shared how she maintains her figure, what she eats and drinks, what she does to exercise and so on.

I for one am envious of her trim physique and wonder how the heck she does it! So please share Kate, thank you.

It obviously takes self discipline and she has good genes but a lot of it is that it is basically her job - she has at least one nanny, personal chef, access to whatever exercise equipment or personal trainer she wants. Honestly, most of us would look good if we had that much support, help and time to focus on our physique
aloris · 24/03/2022 14:05

I like them (I'm not from UK) but I think Harry and Meghan would have been a better match for this trip. It just highlights to me how tragic it is that they are no longer working royals.

I expect she eats very little and exercises a great deal. I don't think it's rocket science. The gyms/trainers/chefs will help though.

Both her mother and sister are very slim too. Good genes, plus a lot of effort.

Blossomtoes · 24/03/2022 15:44

I imagine self discipline with eating was drilled into her from a very early age. You only have to look at her mother to see that’s likely. And her genes are good - I could never look that good, no matter how many chefs and personal trainers I had because I’m a short endomorph from peasant stock.

It is a shame, we have lost two stars; however the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are going to inherit the throne after Charles (if all goes to plan), so it is right that they went on the trip. They've done really well too.

I agree there is room for another couple but what's done is done. Meghan and Harry can still do their bit but in a different way.

ValerieCupcake · 24/03/2022 15:47

I think she looks great. People say she dresses too old. What is too old for a 40 year old?

She will eat very, very, little. We also know she's a smoker. And it may not be a good look if she shared how little she actually eats and what her daily diet looks like.
Yes she has good genes and all the rest, but she is a hell of a lot thinner now than she used to be, which suggests a very restricted diet and a huge amount of discipline.
It would be nice if her figure were the result of three healthy meals a day, lots of water and lots of fruit and veg, but I suspect its an awful lot more restricted than that. Ditto Victoria Beckham.

Myee · 24/03/2022 17:27

Sorry to get back to Kate's physique etc. but what amazes me is that she is stick thin but doesn't have the gaunt hollow cheeked look of someone who is on a very restricted food intake.

I suppose I'm thinking of me. I was very ill last year and the illness caused me to lose 2.5 stones in the space of two months. Honestly I looked like someone from a famine zone. My face is ravaged and I have loose skin and look bloody awful. I have lost confidence and hate it. But on the plus side I am recovering well, long process tho.

I eat everything and anything now in the hope that my face fills out a bit!

Sorry for the self pitying indulgence. Can't help it today.

Roussette · 24/03/2022 17:35

Yes, I find it strange too. A decade ago I lost a lot of weight, like 5 stone, too much and I was really unnaturally thin, bit similar to KM, not my natural weight at all. My face was so so gaunt, I looked awful.

@Myee Flowers
I promise you when your health repairs totally, your face will fill out beautifully.
Mine has too much 😂

Myee · 24/03/2022 17:46

@Roussette

Thank you for the kind thoughts. I'm looking up Profhilo treatments (kind of like botox but not) instead of a holiday this year. LOL. Might get more out of it....

Didn't mean to derail the thread!

AnastasiaRomanov · 24/03/2022 17:58

She looked great when she was younger. Healthy and normal. Once she married she obviously became much stricter about her diet.
