To wonder what the fuck they are teaching my child?

They are covering sexuality which I thought was fine. Except they have just been taught about being sexually attracted to inanimate objects, example given was a chair, or identifying as an inanimate object.

Someone asked for an example which lead to the entire rest of the lesson being about identifying as a wardrobe. And how it's valid and must be accepted.

I can't decide if he's winding me up or not, for fucks sake.

Well yes, one can identify as

HdbshakshhshsyejkeieoskajwjSexual

Is that an attraction to IKEA furniture?
Squiff70 · 17/03/2022 13:34

All this stuff about it being socially acceptable/normal to identify as an object or animal, for example, is utter bullshit.

You only need to turn on ITV's this morning to see this kind of stuff. About three or four weeks ago they had on a person who identified as a wolf. They've also had on a person recently who "married" the colour pink. Where do they find these people? How do they integrate into society on a healthy level?

I don't give a shit what anyone thinks... it's NOT normal or healthy. For me it's a sign of some serious underlying issues. And no I'm not including gay/lesbian/bi etc in that statement.

Live and let live I say, but I draw the fucking line at somebody rocking upto Tesco and making themselves comfortable amongst the produce because they've decided to "identify" as a potato.

My daughter is only two but I really, really worry about what other kinds of shit she will be made to "accept" at school.

DarkShade · 17/03/2022 14:39

I'm assuming all the people who find it impossible to imagine that some people are sexually onto objects have never owned a sex toy... Wink

But on a serious note, this is mad. If you are friends with more parents I'd maybe corroborate with one more person. I'd contact the teacher and find out if this is the kids going off on a tangent or something that was planned as part of the lesson. Then I'd contact the head and explain that while you don't blame the teacher at all, you are concerned with ideology being taught as fact, e.g. the 52 genders is highly contentious.

I'd also find the subtle difference - did the teacher say that people identify as 50+ different genders (which is true) or that there actually are 50+ different genders (which is in my view false).

@Nicholethejewellery

In fifty years this thread will be used as evidence of the backward thinking of people in 2022. People mocking the very idea that there are dozens of genders or that a person can identify as a piece of furniture (or vice-versa). In years to come people will be shocked that we were so intolerant, in the same way people today get appalled by the sexism and racism in 1970s sitcoms or 19th century discourses on why white people and black people are different species.
Vice versa?

A wardrobe identifying as a person?

Asexual people can want to have sex, asexual people can enjoy sex, asexual people are just not sexually attracted to people.
I haven’t redefined anything.

Maybe you didn’t do it personally @slashlover (quite the username for an asexual incidentally) but the meaning you are using goes against, for example:
Collins Dictionary
Britannica Dictionary
Merriam-Webster

It’s very rare for humans to genuinely be asexual. The few who are traditionally haven’t felt a need to announce it, because - due to their being asexual - they don’t enter into sexual relationships/relationships that might be expected to become sexual.

First we had the “asexual people who will have sex with someone they really love”; now we have people claiming to be asexual while engaging in multi-partner casual sex; asexual + bi-lesbian; & basically “asexual in any other way you can think of that clearly isn’t actual asexuality”.

I don’t know why people who have sex are so desperate to label themselves as asexual given the use of the label is no longer rare & “special” & the simple act of having (consensual) sex nullifies its accuracy.

There are that many labels out there for sexualities now that coming up with another for “I identify as asexual but will have sex in these particular circumstances (& am not demisexual)” would only be a challenge linguistically: you will be brave & a hero (etc) - & if you’re first in you presumably get dibs on designing the flag.

A school has been downgraded by Ofsted for this kind of nonsense. I will be approaching them over my child's school shortly if certain teachers don't stop their shenanigans - referring to "cis" women and shovelling their own pet political ideologies down the throats of 14 year olds. I'm just biding my time and getting evidence together right now.

It's barking what they talk about now. Yes you can be sexually attracted to a cat or a wardrobe. You can identify as a cat if you wish, not sure about identifying as a wardrobe though although no doubt it will be acceptable.

You cannot be a woman though only one of those cis things that bleed. It's fucked up and no wonder so many children are anxious and worry about what they should be gender wise. Mental health issues through the roof.

Grin

Maybe in 50 years the fucked up individuals might realise that they have been sold a crock of shit and seek mental health support? Yes a very rare and troubled individual might find a chair attractive. SOme have decided that there are hundreds of genders and you can pick and chose and change whenever you like, HOWEVER there are only 2 sexes. Cannot change biological fact or DNA.

Have you a secondary school child in a mainstream setting?

In my child's class, and my different friends various children's classes there are many girls and boys that have been straight, gay, bi, asexual, genderless, identify as an animal, thinking they are the 'wrong' sex, and fretting and worrying and getting very anxious about what gender they think they are. Shame they have to worry sooooooooo much. No wonder so many teens and young adults are suffering mental health and anxiety issues.

Tillymintpolo · 17/03/2022 19:47

I’m a Pshe lead in a secondary and I am sick of reading these utter bullshit posts

Tillymintpolo · 17/03/2022 19:48

If you really think we’re teaching them that they can be wardrobes then you crack on, it’s fucking nonsense

Exactly right. Parents pushing back like this is the only way to put a stop to it.
OmgIThinkILikeYou · 17/03/2022 20:23

Genuine question, is sexual relations with animals going to be accepted soon? It just seems to me if kids are now being taught it's okay to have sexual feelings towards a wardrobe, I can't see how animals will be far behind.

Scary shit tbh

Yeahthat · 17/03/2022 20:26

@OmgIThinkILikeYou

I honestly believe that there's no boundary which they'll leave alone. It's a never ending push to firstly normalise deviant behaviour, and then stigmatise and finally criminalise those who oppose it.

That's what it feels like to me too. If they are teaching its okay to be attracted to a cat, are they going to start getting rid of beastiality (spelling?) laws.

Interesting. Can you tell me if using the prefix "cis" factually and to differentiate between women and trans women would be acceptable? Also describing concerns around TW entering women's spaces as being "extremely transphobic"?
slashlover · 17/03/2022 20:53

Maybe you didn’t do it personally @slashlover (quite the username for an asexual incidentally) but the meaning you are using goes against, for example:

What do you think my username means?

• Collins Dictionary

ADJECTIVE
Someone who is asexual is not sexually attracted to other people.

• Britannica Dictionary
• Merriam-Webster

b: not having sexual feelings toward others : not experiencing sexual desire or attraction

It’s very rare for humans to genuinely be asexual. The few who are traditionally haven’t felt a need to announce it, because - due to their being asexual - they don’t enter into sexual relationships/relationships that might be expected to become sexual.

I'm "genuinely" asexual and don't appreciate your invalidation. By "announce it" do you mean tell people? Why would I not tell people?

First we had the “asexual people who will have sex with someone they really love”; now we have people claiming to be asexual while engaging in multi-partner casual sex; asexual + bi-lesbian; & basically “asexual in any other way you can think of that clearly isn’t actual asexuality”.

Link to someone saying this?

I don’t know why people who have sex are so desperate to label themselves as asexual given the use of the label is no longer rare & “special” & the simple act of having (consensual) sex nullifies its accuracy.

Sexuality is not the act. If someone is heterosexual and doesn't have sex then it doesn't make them any less heterosexual.

There's already an asexual flag btw.

Too right. If it happens when my sons in secondary next year, I'll be really complaining.

I can't believe children are being taught this bullshit.

Fossilsmorefossils · 18/03/2022 12:06

I'm just waiting till a teen mum sues her school because their sex education made her so confused that she didn't realise that she was female and could get pregnant while she didn't identify as wanting to have children.

TheWeeDonkey · 18/03/2022 12:09

Wellnit gives a whole new meaning to coming out of the closet doesn't it?.....

I'll get my coat.

EvilPea · 18/03/2022 12:10

I remember years ago channel 4 did a program about men who had sexual relationships with cars.

I always felt sorry for the un consenting cars.
