You've just reminded me of the day I rushed LO to hospital and stuffed my bare feet in my trainers. I then spent the day in a hot hospital. Those trainers were stinking afterwards

This has made me laugh.

I would never think to take my socks off, think it’s abit weird. But I also hide my knickers under my trousers/dress & that’s abit weird.

I'd worry if the nurse needed to navigate to your fanny via your bare feet.

I don't wear socks; my test is usually in the summer and I've worn sandals. But if I were wearing socks, I don't think I'd take them off.

It would never occur to me to take socks off.

This is funny, as I had mine a few weeks ago and remember thinking 'what do I do here?'😂. I think I've always had them in the summer previously, so worn flip flops..
I said to the nurse from behind the curtain "I'm keeping my socks on as it's freezing". She said "I don't blame you, don't worry I've got my coat on" haha. They don't care.

What about women in sensible shoes & boots, it's not always daft heels and sandals weather

What sensible shoes would women wear socks with? And I've never heard of wearing socks with boots.

I always wear socks if I'm wearing trousers/jeans and shoes. I can't bear tights under trousers, makes my fanny feel suffocated. And shoes other than sandals tend to rub without socks/tights.

I can't buy socks for men on account of my size 3 feet. Thankfully as socks are indeed a core item of clothing for women there are plenty available in every size, style and colour you could imagine 😆

I definitely took my socks off for mine a few weeks ago. I went on a freezing cold day with big pull on boots and big thick cosy socks. They both had to come off otherwise there was no way the leggings or knickers were going to able to be removed.

The nurse was absolutely fabulous. Funny and informative and really lovely about helping me relax.

I did of course hide my knickers under my leggings, I'm not a complete monster.

I'd have probably put the socks back on if it was that cold although when I wear big slouchy boot socks that go over the trousers (note the name - normal to wear socks with boots, they even have their own style 😆) I tend to wear a normal pair under too.

This has turned out to be a thread on par with "My au-pair had sex on my new silk rug" from years ago.
I am not sure if I am in shock or I want to laugh about the "women dont wear socks".

I’m weird😩 but I make sure I don’t wear ankle socks for a smear as feel so frumpy and awkward keeping them on…why?! 🤦‍♀️ but I do wear trainer socks 🤔

I kept my specs on and they managed to work round them.

I had no idea so many women didn't wear socks! As an avid sock wearer this astounds me 😂

I used to live in Australia, and socks are normal there as well! Especially with trainers or boots.

I take my socks off, feels weird otherwise (no idea why though!)

It feels wrong to fold worn knickers but unfolded feels scummy...
