To think no one has these in their house?

Currently redecorating (hence user name) and looking for inspiration for pictures or prints to go on the walls. All the sites I'm looking at are full of stuff like this! Surely no one IRL actually has stuff like this on their walls?

I love bathrooms with ‘have a nice poo’ signs

Alwayswonderedwhy · 10/03/2022 14:44

They're awful but plenty of people have the live laugh love crap in their homes so would probably go for this kind of thing too

Try Etsy for affordable original artwork.

Duchess379 · 10/03/2022 14:48

The 'giggle & shits' one would be funnyish in the loo I suppose. If the owners were students like The Young Ones...

LuluBlakey1 · 10/03/2022 14:49

They are crass, cringeworthy and vulgar. I can't imagine who would choose to have them anywhere.

77kidsandcounting · 10/03/2022 14:52

Etsy have some nice modern abstract prints

worriedatthistime · 10/03/2022 14:54

If you don't like them then just don't but them , plenty of people do but not posh enough for mumsmet

Lucywithout · 10/03/2022 14:58

Try available light web site Lots of Isle of wight views on board - not framed but you could get that anywhere. I am not associated with this shop I just like their pics!

RantyAunty · 10/03/2022 15:00

I could see them being in someone's private space man cave/she shed.

Or if someone had a party room/pub in their home.

Georgeskitchen · 10/03/2022 15:02

Probably good on the walls of student digs but that's about it 😂

AmbushedByCake1 · 10/03/2022 15:06

I used to have a job that meant I went into lots of people's houses.

Loads of people love this shit. It tends to be in houses that have been Mrs Hinch-ified, loads of grey paint, fluffy cushions & inspirational quotes.

My least favourite is the cringey 'In this family we do Disney!'

OakPine · 10/03/2022 15:06

Yet more tat that no one needs. If you find it funny once write it on a piece of paper and stick it to your wall. If you hoot with laughter every time you see it ? Maybe need to get out more.

bluepeacock · 10/03/2022 15:06

Better than ‘live, laugh, love.’

One of my ds's friends once said to him that we have a "live, laugh, love" house.

I don't know if it was meant as a compliment but I was aghast - I don't even own anything with that tacky slogan on it! I told him she was never to darken our doorstep again lol.

🤮

donquixotedelamancha · 10/03/2022 15:07

It's definitely the swear word ones that jar the most, I'm such a prude

I swear like a fucking bastard but they jar with me too. The problem is that people think the swearing is funny/edgy in and of itself. It's like people who use big words slightly wrongly, thinking it makes them clever.

In fairness it must be hard if you don't have a personality of your own, so I can't begrudge them sticking some generic tat up on the walls to get an idea what it would be like.

PatientlyWaiting21 · 10/03/2022 15:09

Haha I’d have those in my house, pretty sure the middle one I bought similar for a friend 🤣

PatientlyWaiting21 · 10/03/2022 15:11

I meant the first not second haha

Thirkettle · 10/03/2022 15:11

They're just dodgy Chinese sites that randomly put words on paper for thick people to buy. Same with those auto-generated t shirts on Amazon.

Look in real shops, not Facebook ads.

mathanxiety · 10/03/2022 15:12

YYY donquixote

OP try Etsy or even your local charity shop.

Also, Pinterest has ideas galore about what to put on walls.

MardyOldGoth · 10/03/2022 15:15

I blame Keep Calm And Carry On for starting the damn trend! If I never see that slogan or any variation of it again it won't be before time.

KaptainKaveman · 10/03/2022 15:17

Agreed, they are common as trash and strictly for the dim.
worriedatthistime · 10/03/2022 15:17

So many judgy people on this site you probably all have crap others don't like as well , why does it really matter what people put up in their homes
Some of you have judged the people already yet prob all had be kind all over your facebook etc ,

AliceAbsolum · 10/03/2022 15:17

I think these count as class identifiers.

worriedatthistime · 10/03/2022 15:18

@Thirkettle or maybe some people like them , why call someone thick because they don't have the same taste as you , does it make you feel better to judge people

worriedatthistime · 10/03/2022 15:19

@AliceAbsolum funny how its always middle or upper class that do the judging though isn't it
Then in same breath will be supposedly virtue signalling all over the place pretending they care
People that look down on people really should get a life of their own

MangyInseam · 10/03/2022 15:21

Why not go to a place where you can buy some paintings or prints? Like a shop in person? A little gallery or something like that?

You will find less generic stuff.
