To think Linda Evangelista still looks great?

I've always loved Linda Evangelista and recently read her Instagram posts in which she refers to herself as 'disformed' and I'd really expected her to look completely different. I've just seen some photos of her taken recently and she still looks amazing, she's 56 and whilst not quite the supermodel she once was she's still a really beautiful woman. And whiIe I know if must be different for her as her face was literally her fortune and I'm in no way trying to imply that what she's been through and continues to got through isn't really traumatic for her but more that it's a really sad state of affairs when a woman feels so unattractive and unhappy when she starts to look her age.

She now looks like an average woman in her fifties and is living with a couple of health issues, like many of us are. The difference is she used to be stunning and her health troubles have been caused by unnecessary, optional cosmetic procedures. I imagine that's difficult and painful to accept.

I always thought she looked like the ultimate bitch. I get the whole striking thing. But she looked alarmingly mean! She looks a more normal weight now. Her face looks like it has had a tonne of surgery.

I if you read the full article this about large fat deposits that she has been left with on her body, and some on face, and she had corrective surgery over 3 years, I agree she still looks great, but she got a rare condition due to the initial treatment, so it not just a case of her ageing. I believe some of these large fat areas, chaff and cause her problems.

None of them look good. They all look wierd, or deformed, or not as old as they should look. But they all made their choices. Most of us don't have to worry about it because we accept growing old.

Amused at the posts describing her as no longer beautiful and an average 56 year old woman. I'd love to see what the people look like who have such a high bar they consider her to be 'plain'. You can tell she's had work and it's not the best, but she's clearly not average looking when compared with ordinary women of any age.

I think Paulina Porizkova looks stunning. She looks her age and still incredibly beautiful.
Madonna no longer looks even human really. And weirdly it draws attention to her age in a way that being the fit, healthy older woman she could have been wouldn't have.

Madonna looks so young in photos these days but no idea if it's touched up photos or if she's genuinely been inflated.

I used to believe Madonna was this invincible being but she so vulnerable to being perceived to be old. it's a weakness. All the endless reinventions and yet there was never a reinvention where she accepted the inevitable.

Paulina looks beautiful. She looks older but her face hasn't changed beyond looking older. She's just older.

I know, to me she looks like a very attractive woman who is not wearing make up. If she walked in to my office in a grey cardigan I'd know how quickly she'd scrub up well!

Madonna's photographs are variable, and sometimes odd, but to say she doesn't look human is ridiculous. She's an eccentric woman and her image, make up and poses are intended to shock. What she looks like in the flesh I have no idea, but most of the pictures I see of her, she looks incredibly young and often very beautiful. We know how old she is (we could hardly forget given her age is weilded against her like a weapon at every opportunity) so it's impossible to look at her without that knowledge, but if I just saw her picture without knowing who she was I'd think I was looking at a much younger woman, as would most people.

5128gap on her insta feed some of her pictures, the carefully angled and filtered ones, look like a young, beautiful woman. But if the angle is just slightly off you can see that she's had absolutely enormous amounts of fillers and the effect is uncanny valley, that's what I mean by not looking quite human.
She's also had an incredibly odd-looking bum implant.

It must have been a link on here re Madonna irl street pic and also had Instagram photos. I don’t follow her account but I was kind of amazed at the level of change in the IG pics. She looks like a different person, but also a previous version of herself. It’s a bit uncanny

The lumps are a rare side effect caused by a condition called paradoxical adipose hyperplasia where instead of shrinking the fat cells treated grow larger.

I was hoping the huge lips in Madonna's recently pics were just Photoshop (come on, Madge, we know what your features look like and there's nothing wrong with them, you're a star) but it seems she has had them done. I do understand some anti ageing work when your job is being a model or pop singer, but why change the very shape of your features?

I wonder why the lumps can't be removed. They are just hardened fat, not an organ!

I have no medical knowledge and I would love to understand that.

They probably could be removed, but it would leave huge areas of her body needing skin grafts and maybe she doesn’t want to risk anything more going wrong.

TBH all the supermodels of that era still look stunning. LE has not aged as well, not sure why, as she had amazing bone structure. It doesn't matter to us but it is obviously hard for her.

She should watch that new film called 'Old' it might give her some perspective or read a little bit about the Stoics. Less focus on yourself is always a better route to contentment.

LE has not aged as well, not sure why, as she had amazing bone structure. It doesn't matter to us but it is obviously hard for her because of botched surgery

Find it difficult to summon up sympathy. Don’t understand why people go to such lengths. She’s not a catwalk model anymore. People age 🤷‍♀️

They can actually. Peels and fillers can be used on the hands too. Botox can be used on the neck, as well as surgery. I doubt Madonna has overlooked the possibility in order to give people a gotcha moment. I'd imagine she just doesn't care about these areas.
