To think Linda Evangelista still looks great?

I've always loved Linda Evangelista and recently read her Instagram posts in which she refers to herself as 'disformed' and I'd really expected her to look completely different. I've just seen some photos of her taken recently and she still looks amazing, she's 56 and whilst not quite the supermodel she once was she's still a really beautiful woman. And whiIe I know if must be different for her as her face was literally her fortune and I'm in no way trying to imply that what she's been through and continues to got through isn't really traumatic for her but more that it's a really sad state of affairs when a woman feels so unattractive and unhappy when she starts to look her age.

Its easy for us to say its wrong to have fillers / botox / surgery or whatever but if you were constantly bombarded with images of yourself in your youth you'd think differently. Especially if you had the time and money for these things and surrounded by flunkies that wouldn't disagree with you !

She looks OK. A huge step down from what she used to look like. Look at Cindy Crawford. She basically looks the same as she did. It must be hard if she's comparing herself to other models.

I think Linda Evangelista looks great. She looks a lot better than Marie Helvin.

That wouldn’t be difficult. Marie Hevin’s face looks as if it’s been blown up with a bicycle pump. They’d both look far better if they’d just left their faces alone.

@Dontforgetyourbrolly so many photos are airbrushed and have filters applied. I remember seeing Twiggy in London. At the time she was the face of marks and spencer. There was no doubt she was a very attractive women but she looked easily 10 years older than the posters. She looked her age- which is fine!

She did say she had a botched 'fat-freezing' surgery.

I don't want to be rude about LE. She was a great supermodel and she had a high sense of self-worth. Nothing wrong with any of that. The photos I've seen of her recently show an ordinary woman. Not deformed, certainly not ugly, but I don't think she's beautiful either, just an ordinary looking woman in her 50s. And that's OK. I hope she carries on with her modelling and shows the world that there's life after 50. I'd love to see her do a clothes shoot for people with non perfect bodies.

I didn't realise about the hard lumps on her body. I had read an article before but there was no mention of that at all and I remember thinking it was awful of her to describe herself as deformed for looking her age or like an average person. But understandable if she has these protrusions.

She was beautiful and now she's not. The recent photos of her on the street don't look anything like that photo of her there. I suspect it's been touched up. She doesn't look deformed though at all.

I think that photo looks like her just with a little weight on.

There was a photo recently of Bridget Fonda who at 58 was quite different to her days in the spotlight when she started in movies,

Yes she's put weight on and yes she looks different but fgs she is nearly 60 and loves a private life. I felt very sorry fir her being plastered all over the media like that.

LE is still very attractive, nope she isn't beautiful anymore I agree but I feel really sorry for her as it must be very uncomfortable having those big hard lumps sticking out of you.

As for Madonna, she wants to look like that then why not? She is happy and that's all that matters surely!?

I think Cindy Crawford looks her age. The work she has had done just makes her look older and harder. Especially when she is photographed with Kaia . Christy Turlington is an example of graceful and gracious aging. She looks like she doesn't think about herself at all, in a good way, and has left the stage open to her beautiful daughter;

She looks like a normal, ordinary, 56-year-old woman, which for many women would be completely fine. But she used to lauded as one of the most beautiful people on Earth, she was on the cover of magazines, she was the one who 'didn't get out of bed for less than $10,000'. I think it must be very hard to go from being that, to being utterly ordinary.

Actually now she's put weight on, she looks like me!

Yes still a beautiful woman but it is sad that we live in a world where women are so judged and usually by men who do not seem to be judged in the same way at all. I think she needs to work on her inner peace and happiness as she always looks miserable now. So many get surgery or too much fillers etc and just look weird and not younger just that blank stare look.

She was part of the supermodel ‘trinity’ with Naomi and Christy. They are both still modelling and look phenomenal. Others like Cindy, Helena, Claudia and Carla closed the show for Versace last year. It must hurt to see her peers still doing so well. There’s nothing wrong with how she looks, she’ll just be comparing herself to them, not us mere mortals !

I remember reading that prior to the cool sculpturing LE had full body lipo and that it was the second time she had done this .

She obviously wasn’t happy with her body and weight and was trying to keep herself in work

Nothing wrong with cosmetic surgery I’ve had loads done over the years but it flows into narrative that these supermodels stay looking good by eating healthy and drinking water bullshit .

I would bet money that Adel lost her weight by way of a gastric sleeve and not through working out and eating healthy
Probably a tummy tuck as well to remove lose skin but fair play to her if she did .

I cannot understand everyone's reaction to this (Facebook, Daily Mail and here to an extent), her body and face are completely ruined, if you look at photos from just ONE year before she had the procedure (2014 I think) at her last public appearance she looked amazing, slender and beautiful like a super model, then a year or two later she has weight around her chin, she has weight under her arms so she can no longer put her arms flat against her body, she has weight on her thighs so they rub. It's not normal fat, it's hard lumps. She's not an average person, she had a supermodel figure and face. There are so many simpletons banging on about middle age spread etc... She hasn't got middle age spread, her face and body are ruined by a procedure that went wrong. She's not eaten too many pies. I would equally devastated if I went from what she was to what she is now. Yes she still looks great for a middle aged woman but before all of this she was breathtakingly beautiful.

I know nothing about this but the bump near her arm does look like whatever she had done hasn’t been great

Those photos of Bridget Fonda were so unfair, she's retired from the spotlight and obviously just living a very ordinary life now.

Christy Turlington is possibly the eighties supermodel who has aged the best, without the tons of work that Cindy Crawford has had done.

Agreed, Christy Turlington is, and always has been, a goddess and looks to have had very little or no work done.

I feel very sorry for LE. She had a cosmetic surgery that has resulted in painful lumps around her body. It doesn't matter if we think she looks OK, she clearly isn't happy and that is what matters. It has badly affected her.

I would be horrified if it happened to me. Imagine if you had gone for a procedure and it ended up making worse the very thing you wanted to resolve. It would eat away at my self confidence.

Goodness me I barely recognised her. I struggled to see that it was her.
