What the hell was Liz Truss thinking!!?

So yesterday in a few interviews Liz Truss said she would support people going to fight in Ukraine. I couldn't believe it when i was watching her saying it, knowing Putins threats. This morning i've heard that apparently Putin has said that her comments are the reason he put his nuclear deterrent forces on high alert. So now it feels like if he was to attack any other country it would be the UK as he would use her comments as an excuse by saying the UK is threatening his country and people by letting people go and fight against the Russian army. Honestly how could she be that stupid!!

I assume you also think we shouldn't be making any comments or making any sanctions? We should just sit back quietly and let his abhorrent actions continue unchallenged?
An idiot like him will twist everything and use anything said against him as a reason for his actions.

Liz Truss is a phenomenally stupid person - always has been, she is known for her ridiculous statements. Just further highlights Johnson's incompetence that he made her FS.

It is hard to debate what has or hasn't influenced Putin as he is a meglomaniac and rational thought doesn't really apply.

Is it a coincidence that Putin has made this move almost immediately after Angela Merkel's lamentable departure? Something tells me he wouldn't have dared take the EU on while she was around. That's not misogyny. She was respected and had the influence she did because she knew what she was doing. By contrast, Johnson's cabinet are fucking amateurs and the world knows it. Putin has miscalculated the effectiveness of a post-Merkel Germany, but he's no fool when he sizes up our useless lot.

Of course Putin was going to act the way he was anyway.
But Truss is a fool for giving him 'an excuse' to ramp things as intented.
An utter fool.
This is not the time for individual Govts to make shoot from hip remarks but the time for the West to act together to condemn, to cut off money supplies (seem to be doing surprisingly well at both so far) and to come to the aid of Ukranians as far as we possibly can.
This does not include encouraging UK folk to 'grab a gun 'n' go fight' which is about as well thought through as Truss' statement was.

She didn’t help, and she certainly comes across as stupid and incompetent, sitting on National TV, available for the world to watch, encouraging British citizens to fly independently to Ukraine to fight.

Liz Truss should not be in such an important office. She obviously has a very loose tongue and not enough common sense.

A very serious crisis such as this serves as a reminder, I'm afraid, that we have a problem in the UK at the moment. Some of the Cabinet are way over-promoted and the whole ministerial team is pretty third-rate.

Well said. Idiots like Putin will use any excuse to achieve their aims, he’s a loose cannon looking for scapegoats, a massive bully and a unhinged individual who’s one aim is frightening others. He won’t stop until Russia has world domination or someone puts a bullet into him.

It's not a benign comment though and it's not Dave down the pub saying it either. It's a comment you'd expect to read on LadBible, not something a Goverment Minister says on tv when there's a maniac on the loose looking at how global leaders are responding. Would she be solely responsible for any further escalation? No, of course not but I'd rather be represented right now by articulate clear thinking military strategists and negotiators.
