Just been reading up on this and it's fascinating.

One of mine is the monopoly man not having a monocle, I could've swore he did.

Anyone else have any good ones?

"Yeah, we covered it but we thought we'd really mess with people and delete all knowledge"

Somebody on here must know Gary that can ask him!
@AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii - you linked to a scene that had braces added by a VfX artist do demonstrate what people think they remember, that’s not the original.
As someone who hasn’t seen this film, I’m interested to know - is there a logical explanation for why people would think the actress had braces?

So for example, the crisps thing - the ‘change’ people actually remember is Walkers replacing Golden Wonder as the dominant brand. A logical explanation. For the ‘Shazam’ thing, people are remembering ‘Kaazam’, plus Sinbad in the genie costume - also logical. But I can’t imagine why anyone would think an actress had braces when she didn’t.

Nesbo · 02/03/2022 21:27

I think the braces thing is an obvious joke to have made, it feels “right”.

For some people it feels like it fits better than what actually happened. Imagining it gets mixed up with remembering it and as time passes it all blurs together

LetHimHaveIt · 02/03/2022 21:33

People have said it feels almost 'symmetrical' - that he smiles, showing his metal teeth, and she smiles back, with braces. And there's a kinship in that. It's been said that it actually doesn't work as a gag without the braces which is why they're so sure she had them.

I think it's mirroring the earlier scenes, when we see him smile at Nadim Sawalha and it's fucking terrifying. This time, he smiles at her, and she should be frightened - but she responds in kind. The fact that she had glasses and bunches kinds of lends itself
to an overall image of having braces too, I guess. Some people remembered her with freckles, interestingly.

Let's go round again and relight my fire are actually really similar in many ways.

TheFoldOx · 02/03/2022 22:26

@Juno22

What are these Red and Blue Tayto cheese and onion? Are they made in Tayto Castle in the depths of Tandragee? 😂
The blue and red Tayto are the Irish version - a completely different product from our much-loved Tandragee, Tayto Castle made Tayto crisps, which come in a yellow packet.

Spare a thought for people in Monaghan though, I think they sell both NI and RoI Taytos there...

FatOaf · 02/03/2022 23:01

What is not in doubt is that the originals of Let's Go Round Again (Average White Band) and Relight My Fire (Dan Hartman) are infinitely better than any cover versions.

throughtheair · 03/03/2022 09:00

Agreed FatOaf.

Also, Tavares it only takes a minute girl

It's funny to think that everything Take That covered was less than 20 years old
