Just been reading up on this and it's fascinating.

One of mine is the monopoly man not having a monocle, I could've swore he did.

Anyone else have any good ones?

That the words 'Play it again Sam' are in Casablanca.

Singlemummentality · 02/03/2022 08:34

I'm absolutely convinced that take that did a cover of "let's go round again". I remember the album track (8) and I remember the video.

They did! Didn’t they? I remember it, I can hear it…

“Let’s go round again… Maybe we'll turn back the hands of tiiiiiime…let’s go round again, one more tiiiime…” I can hear their voices, see the video with Mark in it.

They must of! I've been singing it in my head all morning! I can hear Gary Barlows voice, not a womans

I know it happened, I can hear Gary’s voice too. I can see Robbie doing a twirly thing with his finger for the ‘round again’ but!!!

I’ve just googled it with no luck 😫 I am now just questioning my very existence 😧

They're not, the phrase in the film is "Play it, Sam"
inappropriateraspberry · 02/03/2022 09:13

Maybe Take That did a cover version for one of their tours?

Fridafever · 02/03/2022 09:17

There are male versions certainly

HoldingTheDoor · 02/03/2022 09:23

I think that's exactly what Sassoon was saying.

@Redannie118

The last line of "We are the champions" by Queen. The Mandela effect is everyone thinks the line is " "No time for losers, cos we are the champions- of the world" The last line is in fact" NO time for losers cos we are the champions" No one knows where the " Of the world" bit comes from. I have a very very vivid memory of Freddie singing it, but it never happened !
In that song it is sung we are the champions of the world but its not the last line.

We Are the Champions
Queen, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra
I've paid my dues
Time after time
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand
Kicked in my face
But I've come through
And we mean to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the World
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls
You brought me fame and fortune
And everything that goes with it
I thank you all
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise
I consider it a challenge before
The whole human race
And I ain't gonna lose
And we mean to go on and on and on and on
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions of the W
Orld
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting
Till the end
We are the champions
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions

@Nesbo

For people who wholeheartedly believe they remember something that proves to be completely wrong (like Mandela dying in prison or Walkers changing the colour of their cheese and onion crisp packets) - is your conclusion to all this “gosh, isn’t it interesting how fallible human memory is”, or do you actually believe you have slipped into a parallel dimension?
I think it demonstrates that certain people are willing to believe almost anything, no matter how outlandish or practically unlikely, rather than believe they were wrong.

Definitely the former. Mandela Effect is just a shared false memory. It's a curious phenomenon for sure.

Having said that, love the idea that parallel dimensions exist 😅

I refuse to believe Take That never covered Let's Go Round Again. I read this thread and thought you were all batshit for claiming it didn't happen (so sure I was that it had!) but Google has lead me to the same conclusion.

LetHimHaveIt · 02/03/2022 09:45

I have to assume some of this is because the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' trailer ends with 'We Are The Champions' performed at Live Aid intercut with bits from towards the end of the film. There's the refrain, then a dialogue break where Ben Hardy says "You're a legend" and Remi Malek replied "We're all legends", and then you hear 'Of the world .
. . ' and it fades out.

No I never saw them on your. I remember seeing the video on MTV. This is so weird, ugh hate it.
linsey2581 · 02/03/2022 09:49

@Vanillaradio there only 50 states in America, Hawaii being the 50th state. Hawaii 5-0 ring any bells!

TeaStory · 02/03/2022 09:55

I’m convinced I’ve seen a lost episode of Dad’s Army, I can see it so clearly in my head but I can’t have done because it was lost before I was born and has never been found. I have, however, read the script for it and I’m so familiar with the show that I must have constructed it in my head and believed it was a memory.

motormouth89 · 02/03/2022 10:04

I am so confused by this Avril Lavigne music video.

100% there was a girl watching at home with a baby.

This has hurt my brain today 😂

DropYourSword · 02/03/2022 11:16

Same @ReeseWitherfork. This is the only one so far more that has genuinely shocked and surprised me. Everything else can pretty much be explained away by faulty memory. It's easy to mistake the word toons for tunes for example, if that's what you're expecting to see.

But I can SING that bloody take that song that isn't a take that song! I would have sworn on my life they'd sung it!!

throughtheair · 02/03/2022 11:39

It's exactly the kind of song/artist Take That would have covered, they covered Tavares, Dan Hartman, the Bee Gees, Barry Manilow...I think it's really easy to imagine, but in my reality they never did, it was definitely Louise Redknapp.

throughtheair · 02/03/2022 11:41

Thinking about it, the chorus to lets go round again is pretty similar to it only takes a minute girl

ClemFandangoo · 02/03/2022 11:44

@throughtheair

I thought this but I have a distinct memory of them singing it and Robbie doing a circular twirly movement with his finger to the ‘let’s go round again’ bit.

I think they must have done it as part of a medley!

throughtheair · 02/03/2022 11:47

Also the intro to lets go round again is pretty similar to the relight my fire intro

ClemFandangoo · 02/03/2022 11:49

No I always thought it was one of their songs until fairly recently, didn’t realise it was a cover. I can hear them singing the exact lyrics. Someone needs to ask Gary Barlow, anyone got Twitter 🤣

throughtheair · 02/03/2022 11:52

Imagine if Gary Barlow said yes we did cover it but there was no remaining proof in this time line 🤣

Funkyslippers · 02/03/2022 11:54

waitingpatientlyforspring on the original single and album version that line is not included at the end. I've heard it like that many times on the radio also. This link you've provided seems like that line has been added subsequently

LetHimHaveIt · 02/03/2022 11:59

I thought this but I have a distinct memory of them singing it and Robbie doing a circular twirly movement with his finger to the ‘let’s go round again’ bit.

It's the 'Could It Be Magic' video. And it's Jason, at about 1:57. But I'd also remembered it as Robbie! Mandela, man!

Such a bloody good video. Reminds you that
there was a time when Robbie was indeed the 'Styles' of the group. And that Howard was a fucking amazing dancer.

LetHimHaveIt · 02/03/2022 12:00

Nope. It's Howard.

I'm ill. That's my excuse.
