To wear tights with knickers?

Someone said you're not supposed to wear underpants when wearing tights - that they are 'pantyhose' with the pants built in. Have I been doing it wrong all my life?

I've googled and there seem to be different opinions, but I wanted to see the percentage split. AIBU TO wear tights with underpants underneath?

I'm a double pantser too. Pants, tights and then pants to stop them falling. I have freakishly short legs so the crotch drops and drops

Knickers always needed with tights. They do NOT have inbuilt knickers.

I'm 5'10 with long legs and my tights fall down!

Two pairs one under one over so they don't ended up with the crotch around your knees.

i hate tights and havent worn them in years , bloody awful things that are either falling down or cant pull them up enough theres always constant crotch droop with them , , i have on the rare times iv been forced into them always worn knickers , i cant imaging wearing them without

I always wore knickers under tights. I do remember, when tights were in their infancy, there were some that had knickers at the top instead of a continuation of the tights; they were panty hose. I saw them but don't think I had any.

Defo pants first then tights. And you have to do the funny crouch position a few times otherwise the gusset is around your knees!

Well, I'll be jiggered. Tights and no knickers, since when? It has never, ever crossed my mind to do that. It seems so cold and uncomfy and there's nothing to catch any little drips. Fucking weirdos.

Girl at school (upper, not lower or even middle) wore one pair of knickers over her tights, always generated a lot of side-eye from rest of class when changing for pe. Never questioned as she was rather aggressive (and probably itchy as well ☹️).

In the late 80's, when I was young, slim, and altogether better than I am now, I did wear without under very short tight dresses. I did buy ones with a cotton gusset. Haven't wore tights for about 20 years.
