To wear tights with knickers?

Someone said you're not supposed to wear underpants when wearing tights - that they are 'pantyhose' with the pants built in. Have I been doing it wrong all my life?

I've googled and there seem to be different opinions, but I wanted to see the percentage split. AIBU TO wear tights with underpants underneath?

What the heck is with so many people wearing an extra pair of knickers? I wear tights nearly everyday and I have never needed to wear a second pair of knickers! Never had a problem with them falling down either - are people not wearing the right size???

I also wear two pairs, one under and one on top of to keep them up 🤣 I couldn't wear rights without pants underneath!

I an old. Back in the day there were tights that had cotton lined gussets so were presumably intended for knicker free wearing.

I think it's a matter if luck. I'm someone who tights falk down on so have to do the two knicker thing. Which is why I rarely wear tights.

I usually end up wearing two pairs of pants when I'm wearing tights...one under (I can't imagine ever wearing tights without drawers) and one pair over to stop the really annoying and dreaded drop crotch!

Is it an American thing? My brother has been married twice, both times to US women, and they never wear knickers under their tights.

I wear thongs underneath and shorts over the top! This isn't to stop them falling down though it's because I like to wear flowy dresses etc and no-one needs to see my bare arse through my tights when I bend over 😅

Tights are very sheer so I wouldn't want to wear no knicks! Other than that each to their own.

Not wearing drawers with tights is just wrong I think someone may have been winding someone else up and they just did not realise it.

Now I think I'm scarred for life after reading that.

Haven’t worn tights in years. Hate the damn things.

I used to know a family who wore tights under trousers at all times, all weathers. Only the women admittedly now THAT was odd, imo.
