Chuck my keys in the Thames. I walk over it several times a week and have a strong urge to chuck my keys as far as they would go. I logically know it would result in me having to change all the locks, sort out a new car key and grovel at work to explain why I need a new key for all my filing cabinets. But somehow it would be SO satisfying.

Going on holiday to the Maldives for 10-14 days.

Preferably without dh and dd so I could actually relax and enjoy the peace and quiet.
I'd happily go all together but dh would hate it and is incapable of relaxing. So solo it is.

In my fantasy it's bliss. Laying on a sunlounger in the glorious, warm sunshine, listening to the waves lap against the shore, reading books and just full on relaxing. Maybe a massage or three, because, why not. And it's a fantasy so I wouldn't feel guilty.

Ive always wondered what heroin would be like (I know it's an awful thing that destroys lives but this is a hypothetical thread). I've had opiod based painkillers in the past for keyhole surgery and it just makes you feel all warm and relaxed and emotionally numb and I've often wondered if heroin is like the ultimate version of that. I'd NEVER actually try it but maybe in the alternative world in my head

I’d like to shag my gym buddy. We have known each other from way back and have huge chemistry. Alas, we are both married so it will not happen. The thought will just keep the smile on my face and my motivation to keep going to the gym!!

Oh, DH is ecstaticly stuffing his mouth with as many Maltesers as possible at the moment. @NewYearCalavicci...., you know that's not a fantasy life but my actual real life life since I became the US spokesperson for Maltesers over a whole year ago...they just love my work...(inside secret, Shh, don't tell.. Maltesers is coming out with a new Maltesers shape...looks like sidewalk chalk, but is actually made out of Maltesers )

Mine’s taking a day of annual leave from work. Getting on the train and doing my normal commute to work in the city. But then checking into a hotel, getting in my pjs, watch telly all day, order room service and sleep. Then get dressed at the end of the day and do my commute home. No one would know. 🤣 What’s yours?

I do something similar to this once a year not long before Christmas. Take a days annual leave, but don't tell DP. I have a nice walk in the morning, find somewhere for lunch, then sit in the pub all afternoon with a good book.

The cats been out of the bag for about 10 years, she knows I do it, but not when.

I'm a massive introvert and find Christmas quite stressful. This is my way of recharging myself ready for the Christmas period. Noone knows where I am, so I don't feel guilty that I should be being more productive.

Of course. But taking time off work to go to a hotel room and order room service? Doing writing? (You may not win the Booker but, without wishing to be THAT person, if you've got time to write on Mumsnet...) Bimbling around a bit in the area you used to work in?

Some people have no spare money left after the essentials.

Buying a cottage in the yorkshire dales, spending my days going for long walks with two big dogs I would have, spending my evenings writing successful crime thrillers.

I will never do it. I am a city girl and too reliant on 24/7 supermarkets, I don't have the energy to care for two big dogs, and my writing plans are usually set aside to do the dishwasher or watch crap tv.

Nice dream, though!

Quitting my job and leaving my family to go and live on my own in a little cottage by the sea up the West Coast somewhere with my dog. I’d have a few livestock and bees and would grow fruit and veg. I’d spend the days doing that, reading, knitting, pottering about.

I (probably) wouldn’t do any of it.

I’m retired, but fantasise about getting up one morning as though I was going to work, driving to my former workplace, parking up and looking at it for a bit, then driving into town, have breakfast in a coffee shop waiting for the shops to open.

I did that a few years ago …not to the Maldives but to a beautiful med island . Pool,fabulous views,cocktail bar and sun umbrella …an absolutely perfect week for me !
