Sheridan Smith & Keeley Hawes

Anyone else just fed up of seeing their faces? I don’t hate either of them & Sheridan in particular is extremely talented ..you can’t blame them either for taking all the work offered to them. But my lord they seem to be in bloody everything to the point i’m starting to avoid anything they are in.

(There must be male equivalents equally over exposed and ubiquitous but names are escaping me right now!)

Are you mixing up Keeley Hawes with Suranne Jones OP?

Anyway. They’re all brilliant actors and fair play to them doing well. You don’t have to watch telly you know Grin

Pyri · 21/02/2022 08:12

I think they’re both great actresses

Whereas all of the ITV presenter crowd are totally overexposed - Holly, Phil, Ant, Dec. Horrible, unfunny entertainment made for the masses.

dottydodah · 21/02/2022 08:12

I think they are both very good TBH. Its that old paradox really isnt it .They were so good in X, then they get the role for Y and so on.SS esp good atm in No Return ,where her Son is arrested in Turkey.(Every parents worse nightmare )Also 4 lives .KH was unforgettable as "Bolly" in Ashes To Ashes ,As Home Secretary of course and as Alice in Finding Alice .

RoseRedRoseBlue · 21/02/2022 08:12

I feel the same about Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby

Nitgel · 21/02/2022 08:13

I blame channel 5s repetitive advertising. Also their obsession with murders. And princess Margaret.

Littlecaf · 21/02/2022 08:15

Love Sheridan Smith. Kelly Haws and Suranne Jones are also brilliant. The best is Nicola Walker.

Why are we putting women down for being good and successful and their jobs?

Polyanthus2 · 21/02/2022 08:18

Olivia Coleman is another who is in everything.
Thing is the parts for older women are pretty few - they need to make their careers now.

Bagelsandbrie · 21/02/2022 08:19

I quite like both of them but dh refuses to even watch anything with SS in it. He says she just plays the same character in every role and it ruins whatever it is for him.

Nicola Walker is amazing.
icelollycraving · 21/02/2022 08:20

I like them both. I loved the character of Lynsey Denton, one of my favourite LOD characters.

Clawdy · 21/02/2022 08:21

Sheridan S is on most weeks in something, not just acting. She did a dog grooming show, and now she's a judge on some talent show. You really can have too much of a good thing!

People are allowed to express their like /dislike for actors.
EmmaH2022 · 21/02/2022 08:30

Love KH, haven't seen her in anything lately.

RockstarDotCom · 21/02/2022 08:31

What has KH been in recently?

SS can be very good but I didn’t like the Teacher, nothing to do with her acting or her being in lots of other things, just thought it was it wasn’t very good.

Fizbosshoes · 21/02/2022 08:31

I think they are both good. I haven't noticed KH in anything recently but I don't watch a lot of dramas.

I've noticed Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan in just about every TV or panel show I watch at the moment but I find them very funny so I don't mind!

StCharlotte · 21/02/2022 08:33

I'm missing Keeley Hawes - she's my girl crush.

Haven't seen much of Sheridan Smith's stuff but loved her in Two Pints of Lager & A Packet of Crisps.

Jury is out on Nicola Walker - still don't understand how her character sent two men into a frenzy in The Split.

Bit tired of Olivia Coleman.

Sarah Lancashire's been quiet lately.

TabithaTittlemouse · 21/02/2022 08:33

Ss annoys me and I won’t watch anything with her in but KH is amazing

myusernamewastakenbyme · 21/02/2022 08:34

I cant stand SS either...over exposed and annoying... a few years ago Sarah Lancashire was in every tv drama....we must surely have new talent out there.

sarah13xx · 21/02/2022 08:37

I couldn’t believe how many Sheridan programmers were being advertised to all start around the same time!! Bad planning surely (not from her either). The problem is once you’ve watched one (I watched the teacher) you aren’t really interested in watching another show the next night with the same person playing someone completely different when you’ve just finished, and enjoyed, watching her in a different programme. It’s meant I’ve just not watched the other ones and they looked like they’d actually be good!

SaySomethingMan · 21/02/2022 08:37

Had to Google KH. I’ve not seen anything from SS in a long time (probably because I don’t watch live or on demand tv, just streaming services) but she was always good in whatever I saw her in.
If she is in every new thing you’re trying to watch, I’d get bored too, tbh.

Crinkle77 · 21/02/2022 08:37

YABU. Sheridan was off our screens for quite a while so hardly been seen until recently

EthelMerman · 21/02/2022 08:38

Male equivalents - Ant & Dec, I just don’t get them. And Michael McIntyre.

Struggling to think what Kelley Hawes was last in so thinking she’s not as ubiquitous as once was. Sheridan Smith hasn’t done quite so much recently but if everything airs together…

Goes through phases and sometimes you’re in and everywhere then you’re out. Fickle industry TV.

IntermittentParps · 21/02/2022 08:39

I don't see much of them very much. I think they tend to be in the sort of thing I'm not into, especially Sheridan Smith.
I think Covid has messed with TV filming and scheduling, so things all being on now might have been filmed recently or several years ago, and it just seems as if all of a sudden certain actors are everywhere. Like Ken Branagh having both Belfast and the Poirot film out; that wasn't the plan but Covid messed up the Poirot release date.

Whammyyammy · 21/02/2022 08:40

I like Sheridan Smith, always thought she was a good actor, even back in gavin and Stacey etc.Thought she was great in No Return.

But I know what you mean, she seems to be on the TV a lot lately, but good for her is what I say.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 21/02/2022 08:41

dont knock them,
they are both good at their jobs
they get offered work
they are probably under a contract to do so many tv programmes, a bit like Sarah Lancashire
