DD said you cheeky bugger. I have no issues with this husband is really cross about it.
Who's being unreasonable
YABU— Child shouldn't be saying it
YNBU - It's not ok

OP posts:
Susu49 · 20/02/2022 22:38

It's a swear word, but these days an especially mild one. I'd discourage children from using it bit I wouldn't hit the roof about it.

SC215 · 20/02/2022 22:39

Do you know what it means OP?

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 20/02/2022 22:39

Is it mild? A cock up the arse isn't mild in my book.

PrettyBluebells · 20/02/2022 22:41

Ha ha ha!!
Seafog · 20/02/2022 22:42

Does you child using the word know what it means?

DonttouchthatLarry · 20/02/2022 22:42

Always used to amuse me that elderly relatives would say sod and bugger as if they were mild yet would be horrified at fuck.

Mistressiggi · 20/02/2022 22:42

Does your poll make sense OP?
I think you've buggered it up, actually...

WildPoinsettia · 20/02/2022 22:43

Change it to cheeky beggar instead.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/02/2022 22:43

I wouldn't want my child saying that, not mild in my book and I'm a really sweary Mary.

cheekychaplin · 20/02/2022 22:43

I think it depends on the age of the child.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/02/2022 22:44

**a real sweary Mary

StopFeckingFaffing · 20/02/2022 22:45

Of course it's a swear word

That's not to say I don't use it because I frequently do but I still wouldn't say 'Oh Bugger' in front of my parents and I'm on my mid 40s! Grin

WrenNatsworthy · 20/02/2022 22:45

Would you let her say bumsex?

Marynotsocontrary · 20/02/2022 22:45

Bit rude for a child I would say.
And yes, YABU and YANBU are the same...

OwlNoises101 · 20/02/2022 22:47

Child should not be saying it

AssignedBlobbyAtBirth · 20/02/2022 22:47

I find the acceptance of it funny too. I've heard people, who would be horrified at anyone saying fuck, come out with 'well bugger me' Grin

User76745333 · 20/02/2022 22:49

It’s a swear word. I’m sweary but I’d still tell my child off for saying it

Bagelsandbrie · 20/02/2022 22:49

Of course it’s a swear word. Comes from buggery.

Shylo · 20/02/2022 22:50

I’m a real Roger Melly and that’s a swear in my book, not something I’d want my kids saying

TinaYouFatLard · 20/02/2022 22:51

I’ve wondered how it came to be considered mild when it means what it means!

bbgxd · 20/02/2022 22:51

@Seafog

Does you child using the word know what it means?

The meaning is obsolete if nobody knows what it means. Who cares...

DiddyHeck · 20/02/2022 22:51

Can you clarify the voting? I'm confused.

AnnieSnap · 20/02/2022 22:53

This 👆 I swear like a trooper in appropriate company, but I think that sounds bad out of the mouth of a child!
Earlymorningcuppa · 20/02/2022 22:55

You’re bugging me means your sticking your dick up my arse? I think there are two meanings for the word - like many words.

MaryAndHerNet · 20/02/2022 22:56

My daughter at about 7 said,
"Well that's that bollocksed then" when she broke her Lego model. I laughed. But I did tell her to be careful as some fuckwits get up their arses over swearing.
