I hope it does pick up around high tide 11amish I want to see some mega waves from the warmth of my living room. (hope for some exciting waves but want people to stay safe and away from danger)

SleepingStandingUp · 18/02/2022 09:27

It's not in the west Midlands! It's a bit blowy is all

Threewheeler1 · 18/02/2022 09:27

Hmm, ok the cat's come in and the trees are looking a little bit bendy here in NE Somerset. Think it's getting closer now. Sky going grey.
Still hasn't woken teen DS up though so I'll have to drag my lazy bum upstairs and do it myself Grin

@Legalconundrums

The shingles on my Summerhouse are flapping - in Southern Hampshire on the coast
Phone 111, walk-in centre , GP ??? Sounds painful op

I’m in Manchester and other then a bit of rain it’s fine here. Nice sunny skies. I was going to stay in but I’m going out instead,

magicstar1 · 18/02/2022 09:30

It’s been above my house in Dublin through the night. Still lashing rain and windy now.

Bostromani · 18/02/2022 09:32

Bit weird in Yorkshire - nothing yet, in fact nicer than it has been for weeks!

I won't make any stupid comments about it being a lot of fuss about nothing though, as that's a sure fire way of guaranteeing the shed will be destroyed by lunchtime.

Marylou62 · 18/02/2022 09:33

Well it's here.. Just went outside to investigate banging and the wind had blown a paving slab off the recycling box! Fences swaying and gutters rattling..
nearly blew me off my feet and I was at the side of the house shielded from the sea...
According to my weather app it's not due to peak until mid day...
Wish us luck...(lighthearted)
(I was working nights during the Great Storm of '87 in a neonatal unit..The Lights went out and all the vital equipment (Ventilators , IV pumps, incubators ) stopped working..Having to (bag)hand ventilate. It was chaos when the emergency generator kicked in.. All the machinery for 12 critical babies alarming all at once.. luckily staff on the maternity unit rushed up to help.. And more importantly No baby was harmed..)

MollyQueenOfSocks · 18/02/2022 09:33

Just starting to hit here in Norfolk. Was meant to come in at 5am but seems to have been delayed!

WeddingFavour · 18/02/2022 09:34

@Thatsplentyjack

West of Scotland and we've had a bit of slushy snow, absolutely no wind and my weather app says just a little more snow later and some rain Confused
The forecast for WoS was always snow for today, we got the winds with Dudley. This storm is to affect the south worst (for a change!)

Fairly heavy snow here, it was meant to hit at 3am but it was more like 6/7am so not sure how heavily it will eventually lie.

VoyageInTheDark · 18/02/2022 09:35

In east Midlands and we had five mins of heavy rain and now there's blue skies and sunshine

Katya213 · 18/02/2022 09:36

Really getting going here on the hampshire coast!!

Mamamovingnorth · 18/02/2022 09:37

Windy and rainy in London but nothing OTT yet…. I feel a bit silly for getting DH out of bed last night to find the matches/ candles and charge devices

(Id taken my contacts out so couldn’t have found them, he’s not a slave 🤣)

BunsyGirl · 18/02/2022 09:38

Essex and it’s picking up here. Red weather warning starts at 10.00.

Tdcp · 18/02/2022 09:38

I'm in West Yorkshire and I've driven through a massive hail storm and it's been snowing as well as a lot of rain. The river near me is really flooded as well. Obviously we're not supposed to be getting hit hard by this storm but with the other one a few days ago we're feeling it a bit!

itsgettingweird · 18/02/2022 09:38

@Katya213

Really getting going here on the hampshire coast!!
Came on to say the same!

I'm inland between 2 peninsulas and happy to stay that way oi the wind in my protected street is anything to go by!

Ds morning training in Portsmouth cancelled this morning. I suspect this evenings will be too! All Hampshire schools advised to close.

Bluecatsalltheway · 18/02/2022 09:38

I’m in SE and nothing here at all. Sunny..

Cherrysoup · 18/02/2022 09:39

Peaking around midday, it’s making itself felt here in Herts, believe me! I’m debating taking out the dog, there’s a green near the house but it’s pouring down currently.

Probably stuck behind a tractor Grin

(I’m also in Norfolk btw)

I read this as "the cats come in looking a bit bendy" 😂😳
Hopefullyoneday12 · 18/02/2022 09:40

1 fence panel down here N.London

Mollysocks · 18/02/2022 09:40

My DP works in Portsmouth and his office has been closed. It’s lovely and sunny here in Dorset just a light wind. Maybe it’s literally the calm before the storm! 🤣

ShowOfHands · 18/02/2022 09:41

I'm in Norfolk and it's a bit breezy but unremarkable.

No idea what to expect. Wednesday lunchtime we were predicted 80mph gusts by midday today and it's slowly dropped to a prediction of 40mph since then. This morning, it's back up to the same 80mph prediction.

Beautiful3 · 18/02/2022 09:41

I know, same thing here. Kept my child off school! But it's predicted to hit here later. So it may have stopped me from collecting her, that's what swayed my decision.
