Fife here. Blustery with wet snow but not too bad yet. Looks like flight to Belfast will be go ahead...but may need a sick bag!

Sparticuscaticus · 18/02/2022 09:01

Hampshire. All the schools and colleges are closed as red weather storm warning. It's been quiet but winds are picking up- we're being told to stay in and worst will be 10-3pm . Latest is expected to hit our area of coast towards 12pm

North Kent here, not too much at the moment, but turned trampoline over and put bins on side in preparation. Walked the dog already, but am about to leave the house to take the kids out. Won't be going anywhere near Medway bridge. Hopefully by the time were back all will be calm.

vodkaredbullgirl · 18/02/2022 09:02

Wind picking up, we are in Somerset too.

Vinorosso74 · 18/02/2022 09:03

The wind has got stronger since I got up. It's not too bad but there are some stronger gusts. I'm in London and it's supposed to peak later this morning and through the afternoon.

RedRobyn2021 · 18/02/2022 09:04

North Yorkshire, it was horrible first thing when my partner took the dog out (6am) but now i can see the sun and it's not raining. My bbc weather app has changed it's tune too

RocketPanda · 18/02/2022 09:04

I'm on the West Coast of Ireland and we've taken a battering. Yesterday late evening was so calm you'd never believe there was a storm coming. There's thousands without power now and I can hear the Atlantic as if I was on the beach.

Grin The cat's my barometer here in Somerset. He's such an unbelievable lightweight in any slightly wet or windy weather but he's happily chasing leaves at the mo. When he flies in through the cat flap, I'll know it's hit. Bit breezy with sunny skies currently. Think it's hit Mum on Dorset coast and sister on Somerset coast already. Other family in London don't seem to have anything yet.
CoverYourselfInChocolateGlory · 18/02/2022 09:04

Blustery here in the Mendips, but apart from a piece of rush matting a neighbour has pinned up over a gap in the fence, nothing is looking at risk of flying away yet!

OnwardsAndSideways1 · 18/02/2022 09:05

In Devon, definitely hotting up here, really very blustery, my plastic roof is lifting up, trees going wild, I don't know why people are so anxious for it to be bad...be patient, but don't be excited!

Hov1 · 18/02/2022 09:05

North Wales here- we had 1 single bout of lightning followed by about 2 minutes of thunder then nothing at about 7 this morning, raining now and wind is picking up- we’ve been told the worst for us will be midday.

cathotel · 18/02/2022 09:06

SW London here - dry and hardly any wind at all. Sun was trying to break through a minute ago!

The BBC news just keep showing this one jetty in Porthcawl (Cornwall).

Giraffesandbottoms · 18/02/2022 09:06

Blustery in Surrey

Zonder · 18/02/2022 09:07

I imagine the met office some posters are going to be feeling slightly sheepish today

Fixed that for you.

It's Wales, not Cornwall!

I’m in Central Scotland and Didn’t even notice storm Dudley. I feel like they just need something else to report about in the news - other than ww3 and COVID!

Legalconundrums · 18/02/2022 09:08

The shingles on my Summerhouse are flapping - in Southern Hampshire on the coast

Mollyforgot · 18/02/2022 09:09

Pretty windy on the Bedfordshire/Cambridgeshire boarders

Senderandme · 18/02/2022 09:10

Swansea here- near the coast. It’s quite windy but not scarily so. We are all staying in though…

LauraSaidIShouldBeNicer · 18/02/2022 09:10

On the coast here (north west) I live right on the coast and was expected to see a huge storm this morning. The sun shining with a bit odd blow of wind and I've keept the kids off school 🤔😩

Crunchymum · 18/02/2022 09:10

Relatively quiet in my zone 1 London borough.

Getting some strong gusts but they aren't constant.

We aren't on red warning for another hour but don't feel like the current weather warrants amber. I am fully aware I am not a meteorologist and I know feck all so my observations are meaningless.

I'll probably be reporting back in a few hours that my roof had blown off Shock

Ghastlyghoul · 18/02/2022 09:11

My bit of Yorkshire ok at the moment but from forecast we aren’t due anything much till mid afternoon where the rain and gusting winds in the mid 50s are forecast. It was sunny first thing but the sky is dark now but no wind to speak of. Tuesday here was so wild I thought the windows were going to crack. It was scary.

Senderandme · 18/02/2022 09:11

That sounds painful!!
APurpleSquirrel · 18/02/2022 09:11

I'm on Devon/Somerset border & just below the red warning - winds are getting stronger & stronger, our fence (which was meant to be fixed today ffs) is wobbling back & forth. Getting pockets of bright sun & then dark clouds.
